yarimo:He did not have to build a new University because he met an existing, struggling one and it is on record that the structures he built in those universities are more than what previous governments built put together. One of his last acts was the presentation of 5 Billion Naira to the University for Continued Development out of which 3 Billion was the grant he attracted through his friendship with the federal government. On Uli campus of the University, he was the one that built the Engineering workshop; Block 1 and 2 of the Faculty of Engineering and the Environmental Sciences; Department of Geology building; Department of Anatomy; E-learning and staff centre; Department of Architecture; Laboratories. He did the roads to both campuses of the University at Uli and Igbariam, as well as the road to Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe. He fenced the massive Igbariam campus and started its permanent development and built about 9 major buildings there including the Faculty of Law, Administrative Block, Mass Communication Complex, Admin/Marketing Block of the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Agriculture, Hostels, Faculty of Management Sciences (ongoing). Obi also attracted the building of the Auditorium and 250 CBN sponsored Male Hostel and another 250 Bed Hostels for female. He did internal roads of the place as it is now. At Nwafor Orizu, Obi did the Department of English and Literary studies, School Auditorium, Staff offices, and a new Student’s Hostel. He also renovated all the old buildings in the school. Obi build 10 new building at the School of Agriculture, Mgbakwu. Realising that privately owned higher institutions in the state trains the people, he provided them with various sums of money for specific projects. Thus, Madonna University, Paul University, Tansian University, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, received 100 Million naira each as well as buses and security vehicles. In Primary and secondary school levels, he performed beyond comparison. His return of school to the Church and release of Billions of Naira to them for the rehabilitation of the schools has been adjudged by the World Bank as a functional model. Before him, Anambra came 26th in external examination among other states, by the time he left Anambra came 1st for three consecutive years. In the past two years, it has starting sliding again. He also provided computers, generators, Internet connectivity, Microsoft academies, sick bays, buses, libraries in all the schools in the State. |

Factcheck0001:$50m in two banks and $52m in one bank gives you what? |
Factcheck0001:He did much more when he was a governor. Don't allow hear say to blindfold you. If he saved all the monies in his fidelity bank as Reno says: $152,000,000 were left in the banks. Stocks were bought in NIPP and SabMiler... the rest of the monies that came to Anambra state for 8 years, where are they since he didnt use them to work? If he stole and piled them up in Pandora like Reno will say, since Reno always claim that he has all the facts, he should help us to use these files and evidences he has to petition EFCC. What Obiano and Soludo is saying: what's delaying them in petitioning EFCC? Obiano built Airport and his wife contested for senate in the last election under APGA-why did she loose? Let's be wise and be ready to move this nation forward as a nation... |
sirnewton20:Read my statement again... Yarafua died... Goodluck the VP didn't, the Senate President didn't... Read my comment again. If your top number 4 citizens die at a go, tell me what the Constitution said again... |
sirnewton20:I don't need your validation... The president is there, vice and Senate President as well... If anything happens to them, do you think the next six months will be normal? Or you think the days will just go on as is nothing happened? |
May God protect our leaders as they converge to pay the last respect to the departed leader |

flokii:That's to show your ignorance... It's Sanwo Olu's project. BTW, Peter Obi built two Flyovers - Nkpor new parts and Metallurgical... Example of schools he built - Anambra State University Teaching Hospital - from scratch, Ịgbariam Campus of the University - from scratch (this is now the main campus of the university). Roads-10 lane Ojukwu Eastern gateway (from headbridge to the new parts flyover) Dualization of Ziks Avenue from Agu Ákwá to Amawbia, reconstruction of Old Road from Awka to Onitsha, etc |
Empresa:“Soludo made a statement which some of us have to correct him during President Tinubu’s visit.. “The last time a president visited for a commissioning was in 2012 for a brewery” - Gov. Chukwuma Soludo The statement is viewed as an attempt to attack Obi who Governor Soludo has never shy away from attacking at every opportunity right from 2023 Presidential election campaign. Now let me set the record straight as a citizen of the state who have been following events in our state for years. In 2012, President Jonathan visited Anambra State and commissioned: (1) Inaugurate Orient Petroleum Oil. (2) SabMiller Brewery (3) Orange Drugs Company (4) Krisoral Company (5) Onitsha Inland Port (6) 8 lanes Onitsha Head Bridge Enugu Onitsha expressway to Umunya with new parts bridge Nkpor. Among others Above listed are some of the triggers to economic growth of the state. I therefore state that the very statement from Soludo was demarketing of the state. In 2010, President Jonathan visited Anambra State and commissioned: (1) Anambra State University Teaching Hospital. (2) Anambra State Secretariat (3) Kenneth Dike Library (4) Anambra State Emergency Management Complex (5) Parental Drugs Factory of Juhel Pharmaceutical Industries (6) so So many roads example : Zik’s Avenue Awka to Nkpor road and Bridges. (7) the commissioning of the National Agency for Food, Drug, Administration and Control, NAFDAC’s upgraded ultra modern area quality control laboratory, at Agulu, Anambra State and many other projects. ( the commissioning of the assembly plant of the first indigenous Nigerian auto manufacturing company in Nigeria, Innoson Motor Manufacturing in Nnewi, Anambra State.President Obasanjo had earlier visited during Peter Obi era in 2006/2007. Projects Commissioned by President Olusegun Obasanjo are as follows: (1) Onitsha Business Park: A strategic initiative aimed at boosting commerce and industry in the region. (2) Revenue House in Awka: Established to improve the state's revenue collection processes. (3) Anambra State Fire Service Headquarters in Awka: Built to enhance emergency response capabilities. (4) Flagging off of Awka-Nibo-Nise-Enugwu Ukwu ring road So it was sad to read Soludo said that what he said. I have being trying to read what my governor marketed to the visiting President or what he used the opportunity to market as the chief salesman of the state by virtue of his position as the governor, but I am so disappointed with his statement which did not add any value to the state” - Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia II May 8, 2025 |

LegendHero:SEARCH Daily Post Nigeria Daily Post Nigeria NEWSWhy I didn’t build new schools in Anambra as governor – Peter Obi opens upPublished on April 24, 2024By John Owen Nwachukwu He presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, has responded to the question that he did not build a single new school when he was Governor of Anambra State. A popular social media personality, Reno Omokri, had last week hit out at Obi, challenging the the former Anambra State Governor and his followers to show a single school he started and finished in his eight years as governor. Reno promised to reward handsomely, anyone that could show a school built by Obi. And responding to this during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Obi said those who said that failed to avail themselves of his manifesto. He said that when he came to Anambra State, education was in shambles, schools were closed and the state was number 26 in the country but by the time he left, Anambra was number one in the state. “I improved the quality, physical and mental well-being of the people, schools, had the basic things they needed and the people shone like stars and that was my manifesto. “Building new schools when the old ones are moribund is just like building coastal lines when internal roads are impassable.” |
