All the information is free and readily avilable on line... as u can see 5w30 is good for all extreme weather ... most of the tokunbo cars are from the USA ,which are built better than SA.. Apart from that ,you can the 1999 Camry owners manual at the bottom.. I rest my case ...

Its not false advert... its like a HYBRID. Just like combining the features of the two ranges (GTX and Magnatec) in a single product. Thats just the secret.

GTX has its strength in fighting SLUDGE while magnatec has intelligent molecules as its strength. These clings on the bodies to be lubricated even when the engine is off for a long time. Thus, at the first motion of your engine mechanisms, there is protection from the start.

I just saw your new topic on Castrol. GTX Essential comes in 3 viscosity grades 20W50, 25W50 and 15W40...and are mineral oils.

Castrol edge has 5W20, 5W30, 5W40 and Magnatec has 5W30...all are full synthetic and available as for SN Plus, I'll check its availability

...but does your MOBIL 1 exceed SN?

1. What is SN PLUS?



API SN PLUS is the interim spec within the lubricants industry that supplements the API SN category for gasoline engine oil performance. It helps bridge the gap between current ILSAC GF-5 and future ILSAC GF-6 specifications. It was developed in response to auto manufacturers request to ensure gasoline direct engines have guaranteed protection against low speed pre-ignition (LSPI) events. LSPI is caused by high pressure build up in the cylinder of the engine which can damage your car’s engine.



2. How do I know I need an SN PLUS oil?



As of May 2018, no OEMS are recommending an API SN PLUS oil but check your owner’s manual to see if you have a gasoline direct engine that might benefit from an API SN PLUS oil. GDI engines are named differently by manufacturer (eg. GDI, FSI, SIDI, Eco Boost), consult your owner’s manual to understand what specific engine your car has. API SN PLUS is expected to be recommended by OEMs in 2019. A host of Castrol products are already API SN PLUS licensed and are ready to meet the API SN PLUS category needs when OEMs begin to require this product.



3. Does Castrol have products that meet API SN PLUS?

This smoke is not bluish... it's a COLD START and the engine is yet to attain the operational temperature.

If you notice the temperature gauge for cars that still have thermostats...the temperature rises and gets to a place that looks like the middle of the gauge. At that point, if it tries to move up, the thermostats opens and the engine cooling fan comes on till the thermostat closes it again as the coolant is cooled down... the engine temperature maintains a range for optimum performance.

I rest my case...

But let me enlighten you more. API ie American Petroleum Institute Classification is a MUST on all multigrade oil that's why you get SD, SF, SJ, SL, and SN is the highest API Classification at the moment for Spark Ignited IC engine lubricants. The S in the classification shows that it's for petrol/gasoline engines ie spark ignited while API Classifications starting with C eg CD, CF, CH is for compression ignited engines or better still diesel engines.

Let's not argue much.

The symbol you see is for API Service and they went ahead to tell you that the product is the finest blend of the SN class

Its technical.
