solution: each case or suspect case should be singly isolated or quarantined in specified individual locations and also cautiously treated with great care!

Not just America most of all the industrialized countries are working on their own cures and vaccine. Spain just flew one of her citizen with ebola back to Spain, so he can be treated.

We are yet to hear of any african country that is working on cure, they should have been prepared long ago.

Out of 1700 or so cases, there has been 768 known survivors. The Case Fatality rate is dropping. And i'm sure it will drop even lower if we equip ourself with more information and stop spinning conspiracy theories. No one is killing anyone with the disease. It spreads very easily and is fatal.

-A person can contract this infection by coming in contact with all body fluids (or materials contaminated with them) of infected people.

- You are not likely to get it from an infected person if he or she has not started showing signs of infection.

-Signs and symptoms include prolonged fever that does not resolve with use of antimalaria drugs or antibiotics, vomiting, diarrhoea, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, chest pain, shortness of breath, red eyes, suspicious bleeding from abnormal sites.

-Early and aggressive treatment increases the chances of survival.

- Early quarantine is the best way of controlling its spread as it spreads by contact.

-Do not go near the corpse of anyone that died of an unexplained illness, especially bleeding. The government is better equipped to take care of such.

-If you have anyone around you with 4 or more of the listed symptoms, call 0800-EBOLA-HELP. It's toll free.

Where did you get this info from. This is the worst outbreak and 700 people haven't survived it is more like 200 people. Even at that government should be doing more.

There is no ebola in America but they are already working on vaccines and cures. I am yet to hear of any African country that is working on a cure. Must we depend on Americans for everything.

I am yet to hear of any survivor since ebola became hot topic. Before it became hot topic we had about 200 survivors out of 1000 but we are yet to hear of any survivor.

Did you read any news that the 8 other infected people are now dead? 2ndly, it is a known fact that 90% of infected people die from it. Early presentation in a health facility helps reduce that percentage to about 60%. 3rdly, the disease progression has always been very fast from when IST symptoms develop to death in d unfortunate many so d fact that ppl die quickly is not news. I have first hand info that the nurse only made people aware of her situation when it had gone really bad. The case of Patrick Sawyer,he kept denying every contact with ebola. His sister died three weeks before. He was already coughing blood when he came to Nigeria,which means the disease had progressed fast.
With people having this kind of poor mentality,i really doubt the quick control of this situation.
The female medical doctor is stable because she was smart enough o alert the medical officials on time.
Early detection is the best.

If it were in any other civilized nation, we probably won't hear more than about 3 cases cos people take public health measures alot more seriously there and people have the sense not to spread conspiracy theories that would worsen the situation as you are doing now. Ebola is not a smart virus. public health measures like hand washing , hygiene and reporting suspected cases to the key bodies does a whole lot in curtailing the spread. This is the info u shld be spreading to the populace, not allegations that would put everybody's lives at risk.

I haven't witness it but before the ebola became hot topic people were surviving it even it was 2 out of 10 cases but now we are yet to hear of any one surviving it. And how come people are dying so fast from it now.

@ Topic,i got some iformation yesterday that the children were taken to FMC Owerri but the doctors all ran away. Some stakeholders should pls confirm if it is true. I heard this from a doctor working at FMC Owerri. God help us.

The Americans contacted the disease before this nurse before they were flown to America.

There was a doctor in Liberia that alledgly died of ebola yet he lived with the family members wile he was sick and it was the family members that took him to the hospital but non of the family members got infected. Within two weeks they got a report that the doctor died of ebola yet up till now the family members are still living with no virus.

Out of the 1000 that has been infected with the disease 200 have survived but now everytime we hear that some has it, the thing that comes after is death. So how come we hear of death, how about survivors?
