Its election time, every discussion in the bus is now too stressful for me. I just don't want to be part of any part of the those bus drama when I am still hungry from work.

I randomly stumbled on this instagram page called Local Eats Africa one evening when I was seriously hungry and tired of eating the same shawarma and fried rice every week. I was looking for a restaurant to order from on Instagram. I click on the link on their Bio, opened the app expecting normal food delivery stuff… then I saw Lots of Calabar restuarants on the app.

Really, I saw this restauarnt that shows it was next street from me, As far as I know, there is not nice restaurant in that street corner. Wetin dey happen for here. I opened the app, Afang soup and fufu was active.

First thing in my head was:
“Who is driving to that side for food?”

But the pictures looked nice. and I decided to take a risk. 🌚

I ordered anyway.

Less than one hour later, the food landed. Hot. Fresh. Correct. The kind of meal that makes you pause Netflix for two minutes just to respect the chef.

What shocked me most was that the restaurant was actually one of those local buka spots I would normally never enter physically. You know those places where you lowkey feel your steeze will evaporate if your friends catch you there 😭.

After eating, I just said a prayer for God to Bless whoever came up with this Local Eats Africa idea.

But now? Different story. I decided to google about this startup. here is what I found.

Apps like Local Eats Africa are making local food cool and easy for young people again. You can order amala, soups, rice, swallow, native food, all from your phone without trekking under sun or sitting inside crowded buka spots.

It is basically a mobile app for buka restaurants, that is all I know so far..

And honestly, Nigerian local food is too good to stay hidden in one small corner street forever. Some of these meals are absolute bangers. 🍲📱

I'm no supporter of APC but what this man has said is clear. AD should avoid disobeying court order so it should not be used against them after elections.

The real question is why are people not paying?

Answer: Electricity is not regular.

Solution: Customers want stable electricity before they will be ready to pay.

Challenge of this: Discos can't afford the cost of providing quality service to customers and setup checks and balances before they start asking customers to pay market price.

Final remark: You don't get into business and tell customers to frontload your minimum coat to offer a good product or service before doing that. It remains Discos and whoever are underestimating the cost of doing business and providing efficient service before asking customers to pay for it or they are stock with the government mindset of doing business and supporting the business on subsidy and citizens payment

I recently saw the hours I spent on each social media app last week and was concerned. Just like dopamine, it's becoming irresistible to surf the internet doing nothing.

It does appear to me SM especially IG, tik tok is saturated with scantily Dressed women seeking attention, some just dancing away. Low budget bloggers pasting thier opinion on every matter, some giving advice to people not seeking it. Not so funny skits, after which you watch it you regret wasting your data. The desire to trend at all cost. As in it's kinda endless

If you spend 24hrs/day with free wifi it's not enough to view the content being pushed out daily. Are we losing focus on what's important and helping these influencers and skit makers to relevance.

I even heard of a student who quit university to join Onlyfans.

Before you come at me, I know there has been some good from social media but the opportunity cost with respect to time on those app is alarming.
