Sorry about your experience, i can understand how annoyed you must be.

However, permit me to make some humble observations for the benefit of us all. The problems you have may entirely not be with the inverter; in terms of efficiency the higher the power of the inverter the less the conversion efficiency you get (mainly due to losses in the components involved in the conversion). Efficiency might be better between different brands, but all the same if you take any brand and compare the efficiency of a 1kva to a 3.5kva the 1kva will definitely do better. I believe the companies fault is mainly not doing proper education and consulting with the client to understand the best system solution that works best for the client prior to sales.

In your case though you have a 3.5kva inverter the number of batteries you have hooked up will determine the run time you get. To enjoy a 3.5kva (around 2.5 kw) inverter the minimum battery bank you will be looking at would be 1600AH (around 8 nos 200AH). You need this much because its assumed that at least on the average you require 1200 - 1500watt per hour to power your load. If your power demand is any lower the system is way over sized to justify the losses occurring.

Another challenge would also be recharging the battery banks! I checked the buyright website and the 3.5kva has a charging current of 60A peak (bulk charge), it would take around 35 - 60hrs (depending on the inverters charging algorithm) to get the battery bank recharged! Batteries are the biggest investment in any backup power system installation, once they are not taking care of properly that investment will definitely be going down the drain.

Anyway i hope one of their top staff stumbles across this thread and brings it to the notice of the management. Rule of thumb SELL A PRODUCT THAT SATISFIES YOUR CLIENTS NEED AND YOU WONT NEED TO SPEND A FORTUNE ON GOOGLE & FACEBOOK ADS!

I would suggest if you can spare some extra cash to get a basic 1kva you'll get better run time and probably save your batteries.

Lagos is already too freaking populated. They could have opened it in Rivers or Alwa Ibom kf they are worried about closeness to the port and hence materials.

Even the excuse of market is not feasible as deliveries can be made. The concentration of industries in one state is causing more pressure on Lagos which is it smallest state according to landmass already.

I support your comment; that is how it is done in many developed country. I have being thinking the same as the best solution to solve Nigeria's power problem. In addition to that, many energy production company should be licensed to build power plant, generate the power, and sell it to distributors - grid. If that could happened, Nigeria would generate energy more than needed, there would be competition in energy cost to distributors, and energy cost will as well fall just like cell phone service cost.

Let each state generate its own power.

The most important is that Lagos State Government should provide access to drinkable water for everyone in the state. I am not saying free drinkable water because no where, even in developed country, that they provide it free. If the state invest largely on the project, it will create jobs and they will re-coup the investment in short time because people will prefer it than sinking a bore-hole and installing water treatment.

"Oyb" is very correct with his analysis; however, 1.5 hp (18,000 btu) is too big for 3 meter by 4 meter bedroom. I am a certified HVACR technician, but I am not based in Nigeria. My additional advice to the poster is to make sure he go to the store with a qualified technician that could identify the correct capacity of the air conditioner he is to buy. The reason for this is that most of the air conditioner dealers in Nigeria, regardless of their name, have rated the units above its cooling load capacity. They rated 0.75 horse power as 1.00 horse power; 1.00 horse power as 1.5 hp. e t c .... You asked me how I know when I am not in Nigeria? The answer is through their website.

Hi segcymoor, nice job so far. I made this comment because I am interested in your job. The laying/setting of these tiles in this room/kitchen need to be corrected. The lines of design in the tiles need to follow each other like the kitchen that you just posted; that will make the wall more meaningful.

Yes, the house is not far from the gate. It is about three plots from the transformer that serves the estate . It is by the right hand side when coming from the gate. THANKS.

I roofed mine in the month of May 2012, and it cost me # 1.7m. It's two 3 bedroom flat with 4 bedroom duplex ( equivalent of 4 flat ). The aluminum is .55mm longspan.
