Thanks for the contributions so far, amount declared as spending is 100k, I will attach a copy of the bank statement, first, the Eco claimed I had only 5 salary credits if you count you will see 6, i ticked the salaries with pink, secondly, he said there was a deposit on 02/06/2022, whereas I didn't submit a statement for the month of June, maybe he asked from the bank, even if he did I don't have a deposit on that day mentioned. I think he was complaining about my opening balance i don't think that should be his problem if I had 500k I might decide to save some of my salaries and also decide to spend some and save 500k like it was.



The only error I can find on the account is on the 14th of July someone credited and debited my account within 2 mins I believe it was a transaction done by mistake by the bank and I address it on my cover letter.

Now if you look at the credits there is no other credit aside from interest from the bank and the above-mentioned.

You should have fill your DS160 form under Uk location while you are in Nigeria and booked for your interview date and travel to Uk before your interview date. But if you are already in Uk you can go online and fill your ds160 under Uk country location

E-Vfs would have been better for you. Because it takes like 10working days processing time for short visit. It would take a bit longer for physical submission. They would treat your short visit application like long term. I’d only advise those going for long term to submit physically. But short term use the E-VFS Route because it’s faster. Now you have your passport, you can apply now so you won’t hear they have backlog online again.

Better still you can contact naijagoingabroad for hotel reservation I think last time I did was 7k and they will help with flight itinerary free.

I did not pay fully for the hotel and flight, it is a reservation that expires after 2 weeks. It is just for visa purposes.

When your visa is approved, you then get a real hotel of your choice through any other available means!

The package on the site is 55 USD inclusive of flight reservation ( 55 x 750 chipper rate = 41k naira)

Six months bank statement. The date he mentioned was the date the statement was printed out. I don’t know if that was what V.O got mixed up. The opening balance was for the month of March. Which was the first month in her six months statement. She had a closing balance of about N4.5M

For the bank statement of account there most be a OPENING BALANCE, why Eco having a problem with your opening balance? If I may ask how much is your opening balance?

What caused your refusal is that you don’t have a specific amount you withdraw as your monthly expenses.

Is unusual for any applicant to give a details or explain the opening balance since ECO only required for 6 month bank statements.

All that enters the account is just the salary and have been working with the company since 2019... Why do i need to explain an opening balance of 6months statement? I have never made a mistake of given the account to anyone... its basically for salary. I was with my trusted agent few days ago .. She showed me an approved 1 week conference visa she applied on E-Visa (VFS platform) .. and this visa was approved on the 10th Nov even when it was applied on 31st Oct. and the surprising thing is this man is a first time traveller lol. But you know what was more surprising? They gave the man exact days of stay he applied for. They didn’t add any extra days for him hahahaha.. his visa was approved on the 10th and will expire on the 18th Nov. my agent told me that is how Evisa VFS works now. I had to change my mind and tell her to increase my days from a week to a month just incase cos she said they give you the exact days you apply for .. cos they don’t want Nigerians too much in their country

Dirold sorry the closing balance is not Other Savings oooo, other saving mean if you have any money you got from inheritance or property maybe you sold a property and the money was kept as a saving. The closing balance on bank account only demonstrate your employment circumstances .

If your income for a month is £390 after monthly expenses, then Travel expense of £1200 is much for you against your income, you can cut it down since you are receiving support. The refusal is based on the £1200 (Personal cost). If ties is the major issue, it will be specific such as assets, Property, dependent or wide family range.

Doing it your self is wasting time and money, I did followed the procedure by filling the CAC online form including my international passport photo copy and sent it through courier service to CAC headquarters Abuja. After waited forever without no response then I go through Nairaland CAC search and I picked someone contact who advertised annual return filling, guess what I got everything sorted within 3 days.


Note: not all this agent can make the inactive to change to Active immediately after filling your annual return oooo.

I did the same thing to my wife without submitted my own bank account guess what? Eco denied her for unknown transfer into her account.

Secondly where they ask in visa application that do you have any savings ? This simply mean if you have any saving you got from property or any saving apart from your salary and is not applicable to your closing balance on your salary account.

The op most submit her husband bank account , her own bank account and her UK sister bank account while both sponsorship will write a sponsorship letter with details.

I will advise that you shouldn’t make the mistake of boosting your account for visit visa purpose. That’s a dead end for a refusal. The ECO is not interested in how much bank balance you have but by how well your account is run and how it affects your application, both inflow and outflow. So you have to be very careful.

Good thing for you that you have a sponsor. Since your sister is going to cover full sponsorship for your trip, then she will have to show proof that she has sufficient funds to cover for your trip as well as her own personal circumstances there in the Uk. She will provide you with a letter as well, stating she is inviting you and why she will be paying towards your trip.

Question: How does she survive in the uk? What type of job does she do and how much does she earn? All these are factors that would be looked into when considering your application. Maybe if she has 5000 pounds balance, that could suffice for the account.

More so, since your sister is sponsoring, there is no problem with your salary account balance as you are not the one paying for the trip. All the ECO wants is to see that your salary inflow is regular and constant as that is how your personal circumstance here in Nigeria will be judged.

You also need to include your savings account statement. There is a portion on the form that says if you have any savings, you can say yes there.

You will need a letter of absence from work (leave), and also another one stating your job contract as well as how much you earn.

Your sister will attach her ID or passport. If you will be staying with her, she will also provide her utility bill. She can also provide you with pay slips if she has any

For your personal circumstances, do you have children? How long have you been married? You can include these details as well as documentation to prove them, such as marriage certificate, your children’s birth certificate etc.

As for the money your husband gave to you, that can be a red flag, as the ECO would assume it’s for account boosting. So I would suggest you say the money your husband sent is the money he wants to either use to purchase goods or maybe pay rent and he only sent it to your account to avoid using it for something else.
