komekn: Your post IMO makes no sense it's irreverent and takes matters out of context.
What is the relevance of domestic crime in the USA to the insurgency in the NE
The Taliban have budget and access to finance that exceeds many states put together in Nigeria.
They make billions from illicit drugs they get $billions in funding from Qatar, indeed they have an Embassy of sorts in Doa.
In addition Pakistan has given huge amounts of military and infrastructure support to the Taliban and created a safe haven for them. You should know they share a common border.
Your post is more senseless because it is without substance and is not anchored anything beyond sentiment and prejudice based preference.
I will give one example of comparison efficacy between the USA and Nigeria.
Just one US citizen, Mr Philip Walton, not two or three or even hundreds of citizens. Was kidnapped by bandits ( militants to me) and taken to Sokoto state.
Within hours of his location being ascertained Seal team 6, night time mission, great stealth helicopters, drones, etc all kidnappers smoked and Philip was on his way home. That was right in our backyard.
Now compare the response of our security infrastructure to the almost daily kidnap of citizens in the North. We even descended to dialogue with militant bandits.
I rest my case. Reality Nato and Middle Eastern allies(About 40 countries ) with the latest of militery equipment burning through Trillions has failed to contain Al Qaeda, The Taliban in Iraq, Afghanistan etc. Insurgency has spread throughout the Middle East like Wildfire giving birth to even deadly groups like ISIS that even inhabit some of the wealthier Arab States like Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. They are now pulling out leaving these insurgents celebrating and attacking checkpoints/bases as we speak Meanwhile in Nigeria BokoHarem/IWAP a group just as deadly as any of the other insurgents according to analysts has been contained to a single forest around a single lake in a single state out of 36 in the far reaches of the country away from 97% of the Nigerian population. With far less money spent, far less equipment & far less civilian casualties than the Middle East. All while funding troops abroad in Mali, Gambia, Guinea, Darfur, Southern Somalia etc. Nobody here said that the Nigerian Armed Forces where on par with America or The Uk. That's Reality |

Tinfoil: Neither, wars between countries should be left to Europeans. China is the only country with enough leverage to influence the outcome. Maybe once China hands over the dam, it'll probably burn from a mass drone strike China has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Dam it's completely Ethiopian funded and the primary contractor is Italian. |

PetroDolla2020: You need to go the sports section, dude. You talk like a baby that was ages ago? And what gives you the idea that Ghana’s military today is not even better that it was in the 90s?
You need to get off the internet and get real facts.
Ghanaian soldiers have been deployed in various theatres of conflicts around the world. From Lebanon, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Syria etc etc Ghana soldiers have done wonderfully well
I wish you can focus more of your attention on your own nigerian troops. The way boko haram is dealing with them, they need your prayers,
The Ghana military is doing great, which is why Ghana is the second most peaceful country in Africa. Our gallant men and women in uniform are good at nipping every security threat in the bud before it escalates.
Your military high command can learn a thing or two from the Ghana military it won’t cost you anything, huh? Fuckeduppedness A handful of soldiers standing gaurd at refugee camps and performing action-less patrols every once and awhile directed by foreign UN Commanders isn't revelant experience. No where near that of Nigeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Niger, Cameroon, Chad etc. Don't get me started on your lack of heavy equipment... FAR more BokoHarem die at the hands of Nigerian troops than vise versa. After all AQIM doesn't exist in Nigeria and BokoHarem is contained to a single forest in a single state out of 36 at the far reaches of the country away from 98% of the population. I feat the Word Powers couldn't achieve in the Middle East. Ghana is not more peaceful than Cape Verde, Seychelles, Mauritius, Botswana, Namibia etc so you get out of here with that BS.

Litmus: France aint pulling out, but, if by some chance it does, leading to further deterioration in Mali, Nigeria would be wise to leave it to Mali, Senegal and Ghana. So the country can fester and reach a boiling point before exploding releasing dozens of thousands of refugees & terrorists throughout the region? Senegal and Ghana can't pull off a Successful invasion of Mali alone its to large and fanatical. I trust Senegalese competency to some degree but Ghana is inexperienced & Beta. |

bidexiii: Ummmm to be honest I don't think the Nigerian government and its military has the resources to lunch a full scale military intervention together with her ECOWAS allies in Mali. ISWAP would just be waxing stronger by the day in Mali, the country is way too big, perfect breading ground for terrorist. A lot of hiding place to for them to lunch attacks and disappear into the tin air and other neighboring countries. Im pretty sure Nigeria & Ecowas can launch a Successful full scale invasion of Mali it's only northern Mali you have to really worry about which I see remaining a bogged down insurgency scenario. So your saying they should leave it be and let it foster and reach a boiling point? Are you crazy? |

I just thought of something interesting I'm suprised no one is talking about. We all know the coup happened in Mali and France is threatening to pull it's troop right? With the Northern Mali Insurgency still going strong and France gearing up to pull troops leaving Mali in the hands of a weak military dictatorship and getting suspended from ECOWAS & the AU it looks like it might lead to another 2nd ECOWAS Joint military intervention similar to the Gambia back in 2017. Prepare people a Quadruple Front War between ECOWAS(Nigeria & Friends) - Mali - Azawad Tauregs - ISWAP is in the works and this time I doubt the Malians will lay down there weapons like the the Gambian military did. Nigerian & Senegalese Armed Forces are about to be working overtime Mali is about to become "African Syria". https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-57298015.amp

fabselad: What makes you think Biya is a puppet of France. I am not a supporter of Biya but he has drifted from the french influence. Cameroon sets its own foreign policy and answers to no one. If Biya followed the advice of France, he would have to keep on with the war in Bakassi instead of going to court. Biya is not the puppet of anyone, hate him or like him, he is one of the best politicians in africa. He knows how to play the dirty game of politics. Corporate France has total control of nearly all of Cameroons natural resources and businesses sectors. Cameroon still uses the CFA Franc which requires them to pay a colonial esc tax to France where there treasury sits within France's. Biya makes monthly visits to France to give out free Bl0wJ0b$. Cameroon isn't just a puppet state it's a French Neo Colonial Posession. |

They should have stayed with Nigeria(an Anglophone country) or fight for an independent country back then. Orginally South Western Cameroon(Bakassi Peninsula)wanted to be part of Nigeria. Cameroon only got it becuase they promised there Corporate French overlords who where in charge of the court case at the time complete access & control to any resources found there. Cameroon remains a French Puppet state with Biya making monthly visits to France for the past 40 years to give whoever the French president is at the time access to his @n@l Cavity. |

How many of these groups are attacking FOB, Police stations and so.
Organised crime exists in most countries, some worse than others but we've not heard overrunning outpost or police stations without swift responses.
Gangs and so, surely aren't going to be poking a bear in the face cos they know what happens next. Let's not start polishing our failures to deal BH a bloody nose as a phyric victory cos Uncle Sam or others failed to defeat hostile forces in a different country.
Write something better, still a foreign territory. They also failed in Vietnam.
