The 2017/2018 JAMB forms might start selling anytime soon. In fact, it might be out for sale anytime from next month(November). Whining about the negatives of the new JAMB policy is not alone, it is also very important to brace prospective applicants for this new development should this law be approved by the executive. Here are things to do that can help you secure an admission place in the coming JAMB exam. Start Studying Now As the old saying goes “the earlier, the better”. Whatsoever you intend doing successfully, it’s a must you start it as early as possible. This will keep you on a better pace ahead of others. This does not, however, mean reading every text books and notes you have at home; SMART reading is the key here. Study past questions, attempt questions on your own, attend extra coaching if you can afford it, create or join a study group (this increases your level of commitment), create a study plan and follow it religiously, etc. Research well on choice of school This is where almost all applicant gets it wrong. I bet by now every applicant should have been able to identify his/her week points, know his/her abilities and as well understand how far/well they can do in a test. This is very necessary in making the right choice when selecting a school. Not everyone can be admitted by the likes of UI, UNN, Unilag, Unizik, Unilorin, OAU and other first generation universities. Moreover, it’s now a well-known fact that these schools always have large number of applicants that far…far exceeds their admission capacity. Why still gamble with a whole year of your time trying to secure admission in such schools when you know you’re probably of average performance. There are other quality federal/state universities scattered across other parts of Nigeria that have equally good facilities and learning environments you can apply to. In reality, the emergence of good private universities like Covenant, Babcook and others in that regard have exposed the inadequacies of our so called big guns. They are now only leaving on past glory that majority of their present graduates cannot defend. Schools like ATBU, Usman Dan Fodio University, ESUT, IBB University Lapai, LAUTECH, EKSU, AKSU, and others can give you all you need to be a successful graduate. Consider Private Universities We now have private universities that have relatively cheaper fees compared to Covenant, Babcock etc. Schools like Paul University, Awka, Oduduwa University, Salem University, Madonna University etc. should also be considered. You are almost certain of automatic admission if you choose these universities as long as you meet the JAMB national cut-off. Get Good Grades in O-Level Result This is another serious thing to consider. First make sure you have good grades in your o-level results, as it’s well known that almost, if not all institutions now make use of o-level results to calculate their screening. It is thus very important to make sure you secure good grades in your forth-coming SSCE Internal/External examinations. Prayer Prayer is the last but not the least of things to do. Studying hard alone cannot make you achieve success, there are other factors that also determine success some of which at times are beyond human control. Committing your plans to God’s hands make things easier. When you have played your own part completely, then God will know he has a part to play and as far as He is concerned, he would never want to be the cause of anyone’s failure. That’s it. Study, Research, Weigh your options and pray. It is the surest way to be an undergraduate by 2017/2018. Please visit www.daniproxy..com to drop your comments. |

MizMyColi:Download and install windows 10 Pro. I had the same issue, in my own case the sleep option disappeared, I was unable to reduce or increase the screen brightness and a lot of my software i.e antivirus all stopped working. I tried updating all the drivers all to no avail until I finally reverted back to win 8.1 and did a fresh installation of the new win10.ISO I downloaded. |
SagePAUL:@SagePaul by now you should have known that that poster is a scammer. JAMB... I repeat JAMB will never ask you to contact ANYONE for ANY INFO concerning admission those guys don't even reply e-mails nor complaints lodged to them by indeviduals. I know this cos I have tried severally to send them mails to get direct info about the posting stuff, and there was no reply. Instead their portal was updated for more clarifying info. Always visit their official website as EVERY INFO you need about jamb can be gotten from their official website www.jamb.gov.ng. Anything aside from this is SCAM! @Mr. Fabian the scammer, GOD is watching you and I will not only leave it to God alone, I'm also duty bond to educate and alert unsuspecting admission seekers who out of desperation have lost their sense of rational thinking of who you are or your Modus Operandi. "Silence is a crime where their is injustice." |

edoboy74:This is sensible |
neocortex:Seconded |
This policy is too secretive. As I type I've seen someone with 181 a score lower compared to mine being posted for admission same school, same course. How come? Note I'm from a state which qualify as both catchment and ELDS for the said institution. |
JOOHEL:What's your jamb score, were you posted to your institution of choice, and given the exact course you applied for? |
Prepme:I can find the past question for FUTMINNA on the website. |

I'm very familiar with the school, and from their uniforms, it certain they are both boys. Their females put on this "Simbi" kind of uniform. Seem more to me like they are probably play fighting or at worse fighting for real. |
nonyedoris:God bless you for this write up. I'm thinking of posting a farewell message for him on my facebook page too. Permit me to use some of your words, it's so touching. |
Demmocrats:God bless you for this post, you just spoke my mind. He still remains one of the few Nigerians I love cause of his humility not to forget that my Dad so much love this man like hell all cause of his simplicity. |
dokyOloye:Where in Niger State did you visit? cos aside some areas in the state capital(Minna), majority of the rests are uneducated. I even visited a village about 20 minutes away from the village and lots of peeps I met on the way can neither speak nor understand English even the so called students in their uniforms. Though I'll agree with you they are well mannered. |
Please, I scored 193 in my CBT test, and I want to study computer science in Lautec, is there any hope for me? |
repogirl:Take your time we are used to it. On a lighter note, seems Aunty Repo is now a member of the famous Nairaland hence your space booking since 169 AD. |
Captivating! With the way all writers kept interpreting the plots and story amazingly, I'm yet to be convinced that all stories so far were not written by a single writer. @LarrySun your architectural story design is da bomb, @Frank317 strong foundation, simply the best. @Repogirl a gave me a clearer picture, with a touch of emotion, @TDan one sentence, "It's in you". |
Government alone shouldn't take the blame. I'll also blame it on the student for their careless and inconsiderate attitude towards the maintenance of the school premises, and the teachers for not doing their duty of enforcing sanity. A simple look at one of the picture with the inscription "EKO Project 2012/2013" is enough pointer to indicate that the school has experienced the intervention of the government recently. I'm not trying to defend Fashola's administration, but with a clear conscience would you blame the government for broken chairs littered all around, ceilings obviously destroyed and classroom looking tattered and dirty? or should we always expect government intervention on a yearly basis. If you are familiar with Sari Iganmu Secondary school, you will understand what I'm talking about. It a school I've known before it was renovated and even after renovation. Try and visit the school and you would be surprised. |
I vote Amefrica. |
