I read the message again to be sure I won't be charged for it. I decided to send sms as they stated. I wasn't charged after I sent the first sms.

I received another sms, it was a question. It was free to reply, so I sent in the answer and checked my balance and my money was not deducted.

Minutes later, I received another sms "Confirmed! Your name features in the draw for N10,000,000 from MTN...." I checked my balance and it was obvious, they have stolen my 100 Naira.

Why do many Christians wish their human enemies dead.

'But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you'. Mathew 5 vs 43.
It is not uncomon to hear among born again christians praying for their human enemies to die by fire. Honestly, I see wickednes among brethren. I see bad spirit and revengeful among christians of nowadays.
The above scripture verse ask us to pray 4 our enemies. Jesus prayed 4 his killers on d cross, 'father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing'. Where is dis type of heart among christian brethren today.
Stephen, d 1st christian matayr, prayed for d forgivenes of his killers. Cud u believe dat dis prayer led to Paul's conversion. If he had prayed 4 fire to consume all his enemies perhaps Paul wont have been converted.
In conclusion, christians shud stop praying 4 d death of their human enemies but ask God 4 his grace to open their eyes. May God give us a beta heart 4 kingdom lifestyle. Amen
it is not as if they wish their fellow human being death. but some persons are just wicked and they have resulted to comit evil. Jesus said that "man's enemy are within " .It's the evil spirit that most persons pray against not the human being. but if the perpetrator of such act refuses to repent, he will be consumed because our God is consuming fire. Jehovah is love and the same time a consuming fire, so it's a two way thing moreover he's the one that decide to consume or not. He chosens who to spare or not spare. He's the God of vengeance because he avenge for those that cast their petition before him. Their cases where some persons call of the fire of God that they end up consuming themselves.
Christianity EtcRe: Stop Football!!! by asudan: 3:03pm On Dec 07, 2014
@ op it's not necessary football per say but the way we idolize it and put God last instead of the other way round. When you idolize anything more than God, it becomes a sin for example the illustration given where you mention a pastor cancelling night vilgil because of football is idolatry before God. Never the less that doesn't mean you can't watch football matches but if clashes with the things of God, it's advisable you forfeit the game for God not the other way.

BusinessFuel Importers Under Pressure From Devalued Naira by asudan(op): 12:33pm On Dec 04, 2014
As the country continues to rely on importation for
most of its fuel needs, the recent devaluation of the
naira is taking a toll on marketers as the cost of
importing fuel has increased.
This is coming on the heels of the delay in the
payment of subsidy arrears by the government, for
which marketers were said to be groaning as they
could not make fresh order for the product.
Following the weakening of the naira by the decline in
crude oil prices, the Central Bank of Nigeria was last
week forced to devalue the currency by 8.5 per cent
from N155 to N168 to the United States’ dollar.
Nigeria, Africa’s largest oil producer, relies heavily on
imported refined petroleum products for the servicing
of the economy, creating a lucrative market for
refiners in the United States, Europe and other African
countries such as Cameroun and Cote d’Ivoire.
The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Petroleum and
Natural Gas Workers, Lagos Zone, Alhaji Tokunbo
Korodo, in a telephone interview with our
correspondent, said, “The devaluation of the naira is
part of what may lead to scarcity. Most of the fuel
importers are having a serious setback.”
“Apart from that, some of the importers are not willing
to import fuel as a result of non-payment of subsidy
arrears. According to information some of them are
peddling around, the money will not be paid until after
elections. Some of the marketers are seriously
complaining about their subsidy payments and that is
why some of them are not even going into fresh
importation. The ex-depot price of the fuel at the
depots is also increasing on a daily basis because
some of them are running out of stock.
“So, we are likely to face a lot of challenges this
festive period if urgent steps are not taken by the
government or the relevant authorities,” Korodo
added.
An energy specialist at Ecobank, Mr. Dolapo Oni said
as a result of the devaluation, the cost of importing
fuel had increased, especially since the country
operates on landed cost.
“So the Letter of Credit opened by a bank is not paid
until the goods land, by which time the dollar rate is
often higher,” he said.
In its latest briefing note on energy, oil and gas,
Ecobank Research said the combination of high dollar
rates and non-payment of fuel subsidies had put the
petroleum marketers in a situation where they were
running low on reserves of key fuels.
“Delay in payment of fuel subsidies in Nigeria
continues to impose financial costs on petroleum
marketers, even as security challenges in the northern
part of the country also affect operations,” according
to the report.
The amount spent on fuel imports to the country in
the second quarter of this year increased by 50.2 per
cent to $4.01bn from $2.67bn in the first quarter,
according to the data from the Central Bank of
Nigeria.
The CBN said “the growth in oil sector imports was
mainly facilitated by the low domestic refining
capacity which induced increased importation of fuel
to meet domestic demand.”
The country’s refineries have long been operating well
below installed capacity as they are in different states
of disrepair. They operated at an average of 10.46 per
cent of their combined nameplate capacity of 445,000
barrels per day in June, according to data from the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
The Ecobank report noted that the lower crude oil
price had actually benefited refiners in Middle Africa
who are now able to afford more quantities of the
previously expensive light sweet crude grades.
Refineries such as Cameroon’s 42,000 bpd SONARA
refinery and Cote d’Ivoire 80,000 bpd SIR refinery
which typically refine Nigeria’s Bonny Light and Brass
River crude grades, among others, are said to have
been able to boost production.
“As these crude grades yield more middle distillates
demanded by West African countries, the higher
output could potentially also boost petroleum product
trading between the two countries and Nigeria. The
SONARA, which, as of June was owed nearly $600m
by the government in fuel subsidy payments, is
expected to witness a major turnaround in its
operations.”
According to the report, the higher yield from
processing more light sweet crude and likely higher
output of petroleum products could even increase its
trade in petroleum products with Nigeria, where oil
importers are yet to place orders with European
refiners over unpaid subsidies.
“The SIR in Cote d’Ivoire was equally owed around
$95m by the government but has been able to secure
lines of credit from its bankers to take up more crude
oil feedstock. As a key fuel supplier to the Nigerian
market, the
SIR could strengthen its relevance to Nigeria as output
increases,” said Ecobank Research

The statement was in reaction to a media

“It has again come to our notice that some

“Let us state once again that the first lady is not an

functionary. She therefore recognises very clearly her
place in the scheme of things.
“Let it be known that the first lady has no hand in

HealthLASG: We Are Not Owing Doctors For Any Work Done by asudan(op): 12:58am On Dec 02, 2014
Lagos State Government on Sunday
reiterated that it had always paid the salaries
of all its employees, doctors inclusive, as and
when due.
Some doctors working in the state
government’s hospitals had early last week
staged a demonstration, alleging that the state
government owed them an unspecified
amount of money covering their salaries for
July and August this year.
But debunking the allegation, the government
said the complaint by the doctors referred to
July and August 2014 during which period the
affected doctors went on strike, adding that
their salaries were not paid in accordance
with the government’s policy of “No Work, No
Pay.”
Government also recalled, with regrets, that
the period of the doctors’ strike unfortunately
coincided with the outbreak of the Ebola Virus
Disease (EVD) in the state, pointing out that all
entreaties to the striking doctors to see
reasons and call off the strike were ignored.
In a statement jointly signed by Chairman,
Health Service Commission, Dr. M.O. Salako
and Chairman, Lagos State University Teaching
Hospital, Dr. O. Williams, the state
government said it had promptly resumed
payment of salaries of the doctors since they
resumed work.
The statement, which reiterated that the state
government’s policy of “no work, no pay” was
still in force, pointed out that the policy was
informed by the fact that it was unjustifiable
for any worker to be paid for work not done,
maintaining that any group of its employees
that embarked on strike in contravention of
the laid-down procedures governing such
actions would be so treated for the period of
strike.
Assuring all citizens of the administration’s
commitment to its responsibilities of
protecting lives and property in the state at
all times, the statement reiterated,
“government’s policy of “no work, no pay”
remains in force meaning you cannot be paid
for work not done.”
BusinessDrive With Fake Licence, Go To Jail by asudan(op): 12:39am On Dec 02, 2014
The Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) has warned
motorists to stop obtaining drivers licence through
proxy or risk going to jail.

The National Chairman, Conference of Directors of VIOs
of the federation, Mr. Bayo Otuyemi, sounded the note
of warning in his office in Abeokuta, the Ogun State
capital.

Otuyemi, the Commander of Ogun State Vehicle
Inspection Service (VIS), said VIOs must ensure that
drivers obtained genuine licence to ensure the creation
of a reliable data base.

He said this has been impossible in the past because
many motorists obtained licence through proxies.
He said some of the fatal crashes on the roads have
been attributed to lack of driving skills, poor road
signage knowledge and poor driving attitude all of
which showed that they never went through driving
school.

He said: “Some drivers when arrested as a result of
their inadequate knowledge of driving have been found
in possession of fake licences, while many have no
driving licence at all. They lacked in-depth knowledge
of the practical and theoretical aspects of driving
which they ought to have known before being given a
driver’s licence that qualifies them to drive. Due to
these shortcomings some of them lacked what it takes
to drive on the highways because they knew nothing
about traffic rules and regulations.”

He urged motorists to attend professional driving
schools to acquire the proper training to drive on the
highways and follow the due process of obtaining
driver’s licence. He said henceforth, whoever is caught
driving without the original driver’s licence will not only
be fined but risk a jail term.

The process of obtaining drivers’ licence, according to
him, has been linked with three agencies, State Board
of Internal Revenue, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
and the Department of Vehicle Inspections Office.

He said applicants for driving licence must obtain
provisional driving licence and will be issued a full
driving licence on successful completion of the test
and practical driving examination by the Vehicle
Inspection Office.

“Anyone who obtained a driver’s licence by proxy from
any state or FRSC without being tested and certified
competent to drive on Nigeria roads by a qualified
vehicle inspection officer, may have been issued a fake
driving licence and would be prosecuted in the court
for driving with fake documents,” he added.

The VIO boss, strongly advised applicants for driving
licence to visit the nearest FRSC’s office, Vehicle
Inspection Office (VIO) or the State Board of Internal
Revenue, for better advice in the processing of
obtaining drivers’ licence instead of patronising touts.

Alternatively, applicants can submit an online
application and must be both practically and
theoretically tested and certified competent by a testing
officer before they are issued drivers’ licence.

He also appealed to both federal and states’ owned
road traffic management agencies to continue
improving on enforcement capacity, technologies and
public education/enlightenment campaign.

Otuyemi also urged corporate body/organisations and
commercial transport unions to join in the campaign
against lawless driving which has led to wanton
destruction of lives and property.

He also appealed to motorists to ensure that their
vehicles are in good condition before embarking on
any journey.
