A Mutual funds is when a company takes money from many people and invests money in a range of different shares or money market instruments in profitable companies, while all the investors share the profits losses and charges.

the ones I know about in Nigeria are ARM discovery fund, IBTC ethical fund, IBTC equity fund and Coral growth fund, there is also Sky shelter fund but i dont know wether SSF is classified as a mutual fund. The funds take after their names e.g ethical fund will not invest in companies that make alcohol or tobacco hence the name ethical, sky shelter invests in real estate hence the name shelter.

I have tried chatting about this in the forum but nobody seems to like Mutual funds

One of my friends told me that they allow for joint accoutns so maybe you can contact Skye bank to ask them and if you have other people that you can combine with, you can still do it. Try and find more information, im sorry thats all i know for now

You can use any amount to buy shares the only thing is that stockbrokers have a minimum amount you can use first to invest. Although the amount is not a charge it is just to open the account and will be used only to buy shares for you.

In order to change you need to fill an Intermember transer form and then a Stock transfer form
You will then need to complete our Account opening forms and provide the necessary know your customer documents (KYC) then make an initial investment, Our minimum is N100,000 for now.
