Not enough reason to place her on a 2k salary. Better save and invest, when you get married, enjoy your savinhs and investment as a couple.

Placing her on 2k "salary" will not stop her from walking away if she wants to. Also, you are creating a precendence that would be hard to stop, because the day you stop it, she will likely lose interest in you.
