studyless123: People can be comfortable with the bare minimum and I see nothing wrong with that. Everyone’s circumstances and priorities are different. At the end of the day, what matters is personal fulfillment and making choices that align with one’s goals and situation. You can also create a thread and share your ambitious history. You are either an alternate account of the op, or you struggle with comprehension. The guy could have clearly stated that he lacked ambition which is why he has no driving licence and lives on the bare minimum rather than suggesting its the norm. For all I care, he can quit work and live in food banks where he stays, but he should be clear on why. |

fullclub: Oga stop lies. Even self how can u get 3 slots in one month stop that big lies.. Go to the booking website and see ques.
As at today in most centers u can only book for August or September which is the earliest period.
Stop the lies Mediocrity is doing you something strong. Rather than fight mediocrity, you continue to find the justification for your mediocrity and resist those trying to tell you " you can do better". This is my last response to you. Keep waiting six months to take/retake a driving test.

Well u can only book once per time although if u are lucky then u can see a closer date. Or cancel the previous one n chose a closer date So the reason you dont have a driving licence is because you have been too much of a chicken to take the test not because you are mandated to wait 5months after each test as you seem to suggest. This is what you should have said rather than misleading people. And yes, I hate mediocrity, hence the angry post. |

The guy replied me as if u can just pick up a car and drive or walk into a driving licence office and pick it.
Am trying to make him understand that its not all that it takes an average of 4 to 5 months to sit for practical test and statistics says over 45% have passed rate....
Does that says am idle. I have a provisional and have passed theory teste and am waiting for practical.
All u have to do is to wait... The wait period u have no power over it.
Stop personal attacks and face reality on him ground. If i had said negative things about Nigeria u wont attack You are someone with a mediocre mindset, @jedisco is correct. I have also told you the same. I passed my driving test at the 3rd attempt and took all 3 tests within a month. Mind you, I live in an area which has very high car ownership rate and very long waiting list. Go to the booking site every monday or tuesday morning and refresh for cancellations. There are even bots that can do it for you. I did it without a bot, you too can but not with your kind od mindset You are just someone with a very mediocre mindset. |

abbey621: Japa or no japa, if you're comfortable with minimum wage then you're still sleeping! The expectation is that you do that minimum wage for a couple of hyears and then naturally grow into higher paying job.
In 2010, I arrived US making minimum wage from cleaning floors, 3 years later I was making 55,000 a year and felt comfortable, fast forward 12 years later, I'm making close to 300k per year between the job and businesses yet the drive and passion never stops, abroad is what you make of it.
There's no one path to success and life abroad is full of ups and downs, even high earners could find themselves unemployed, this is why even when comfortable you cannot afford to relax and dull yourself.....Stay hungry, stay disciplined....Keep growing, never ever ever BE COMPLACENT ! The guy you are talking is probably already set in his ways. He has been in the UK for three years, does not have a driving licence and instead complains failure rate is too high so people should avoid it. He has been doing minimum wage job since he arrive and will rather complain rather than ask for guidiance |

You can definitely earn more than the minimum! That guy is a guy with almost zero ambition and very little character to thrive but a big mouth for nagging. This ur economic sense no follow Your lack of openness to learning and continuous nagging is what is limiting your growth in the country, no offense intended. I noticed it from your first thread and its not surprising this is how you find the country. It makes very little sense for someone on your income level to spend so much on calls/data. Ask around. What the hell do you do with data while you are away from home that consumes 10-15 gig a month. Also, most places in the UK have guest wifi, be it trains, buses, workplaces...why will you then spend £45 a month when you can do 2 sims for £12 and have a broadband at home for unlimited data. The UK mortgage thread is one if the very active threads in the travel section. Go and read through and you will realise many people there bought their first house in the country within 2-3 years there. They didnt do that on £11 per hour job and they are not a small privileged minority as you are fond of suggesting, else the thread will not be so active. https://www.nairaland.com/7534564/living-uk-propertymortgage-related/65Also, if you think paying rent is better than paying a mortgage, your ignorance is deeper than I initial though. The fact that according to you, working minimum wage job, doing basic hours and your wife working minimal hours and minimum wage job, you can still afford to send £150 (N300k) monthly, save £100 from your end and £700 from your wife (about N1.6M) monthly, you cannot sense there is a big window of opportunity in the country to thrive which nigeria would not afford you, you clearly are the problem, not the country |

In Nigeria i mske use of nothing less than 40 gig per month If you need data, get a broadband. The month of a virgin broadband plus 2 lebara sim is less than £40 a month. Also, you dont need to pay for a TV license except you are buying a TV to watch live TV shows. You can but a smart TV and stick to streaming platforms. |

You need to build your network and be open to learning. https://www.nairaland.com/7889678/experience-uk-since-japa-warningOn a side note, except you are paying for a phone contract, £54 a month is ridiculous even for 2 people. Lebera would give you a payg contract of £6 a month with data bundle of about 10gig. Virgin will give you highspeed broadband for the house for £23 a month with £50 credit opt-in credit. |

1. The spoken language is Fulani, until we have someone to translate . Nobody can claim to understand what is said. 2. No evidence of violence, or disagreement. Where are the farm owners. 3. It is a well known fact, that farmers often give out their farm to cattle herders for grazing in exchange for money
We should expect more anti-fulani propaganda in the coming years, as we edge close to May 2027 elections. They give out cassava for grazing..... ? Hope apc at least pays you a living wage to spew this rubbish |

Trendytessy: Pls I need advise on steps to take. When I moved to the Uk, I couldn’t find a house. There was a guy who said he had an air bnb to let for a short while and I paid him for the flat for the week I was meant to stay. Unable to find an house for my family, we spoke with him to let us stay pending we get suitable accommodation. He said he will speak to the landlord and get back to us. He did speak to the “landlord” and we started paying monthly for the room. It was a 2bed flat and we stayed in a room, another couple stayed in the other. We were all paying monthly. For proof of address, he said the landlord agreed to put my name on the electric bill as it’s prepaid but the landlord pays the council tax and water bill. Now I left the room since September 2023, I got home now and I saw a final notice letter for unpaid council tax from May 2023-September 2024.
How do I rectify this? I’m thinking of calling the council to let them know I didn’t register for council tax and it was done fraudulently cos I remember this guy did ask for my term letter but when I asked what for he didn’t say the reason. I’m suspecting he registered my details but didn’t put my phone number or email so I wouldn’t know. I’ve received no notifications of any sort. This letter came to my new address in England and this whole situation happened in Swansea. If you are a student or your partner is a student, let them know you are not liable in tbe first instance. |

Goke7: He took a huge calculated risk thinking Trump by giving him access to the national treasury will act as a buffer for all the backlash he’s getting now. How far this will go we’ll know in the months ahead no wonder they need that mineral deal in Ukraine badly. Only govt money can save Elon now. Nothing calculated in his move, he was just too bigoted to keep his extreme right-wing views. The people he has been dissing and attacking on Twitter are the people who use his products. The maga crowd are not a fan of renewables or renewable tech even here in the UK. Thanks to Trump, it is now it has tipped over. Tesla market share loses will likely never recover fully. It has lost the technological, first-mover, price and positively-viewed global image that helped push its products. To make matters worse, Trump's continuous attack on clean technologies is reducing political and PE funding into the sector which is needed to build the ecosystem and make it more viable for most people to transition to clean tech gadgets. |

In Trump's quest to flaunt US brute strenght, he may send the country into a recession.
Unfortunately, countries like the UK may not be spared due to its close economic relationship with the US. Even
Businesses require a globalised environment with reasonable certainty to thrive. Trump brings the opposite.
Even Elon may not be spared from the economic damage trump will do if he does not bring his erratic behaviour to a halt

AgentXxx: Oga you are the one refusing to get the point. Do you think Ukraine wouldn’t do the same or worse if it have to endure Russian oppression for about 60years and only thing the WEST is telling it is to give up its land with no support to help it claim its land? 1967, 1973 and now 2024 brought the biggest change in the middle eastern map, with israel occupying more territories but the lesson seems to be lost. In 1948, the UN tried to mediate, the arab states rejected the idea of isreal as a country and went to war. In 1967, the arab states went to war to push israel out of territories it occupied in 1948 and lost more territory. 1973, they tried to push israel to its 1967 boundaries and lost more territory. In 2024, hamas chose remdiate the situation through a war and lost territories in gaza which israel is unlikely to fully exit if they do exit it at all.

Let Ukraine also give part of their land that Russian wants You dont get the point or refuse to acknowledge it. both countries have similar problems whether from 1948 or from 2014 , the difference is hamas chose a different path from ukraine. If the ukranian army had crossed the border during the cold phase of the dispute, kidnapping 100s and killing a thousand more in their home, they would not have found the international support they did. |

AgentXxx: As long as Palestine doesn’t get freed, Ukraine should join the list of the countries being taken over by oppressors.
Everyone would be using up much energy with Ukraine invasion which started in 2014 but become mute with the invasion of Palestine which has been on since 1948. 😂 If hamas did not cross the border to kidnap hundreds and kill over 1,000 israeli civilian, they would have probably been some sympathy. There is already a lot of resentment to israeli treatment of palestinians even in the west but no leader would justify what hamas did in the west. The ukranian army did not cross the boundary to kill 1,000 russian civilians and kidnap 100s provoking a war, notwistanding that russia had annex regions bigger than the entire palestine since 2014. Big difference! |
