Ooh, stay safe.

Reform and conservatives were competing with each other on who could be more anti-imigrant in rhetoric.

Both failed woefully at the polls but I guess their supporters still feel they have a score to settle.

They may start with muslims to not ruffle many feathers, but in reality even the likes of kemi badenoch and braverman do not meet the standard of being british in their dictionary and they will also get to them eventually and make that known.

Politics / Re: Fuel Rises To ₦‎1,300/Litre As Depots Run Dry by Atk1nson(m): 8:14am On Jul 29
nairalanda1:

Precisely. At the moment, it costs 700 Milluion naira to pay for subsides. monthly. If fuel had remained at N145, it would have cost over N1.5 billion naira or more monthly to pay for subsdies....at a rate of N1200 PER Liter.

If fuel had stayed at N65...it would be costing N 1300 per liter to subsidse fuel. At fuel consumption of 60 million a day, you do the math....it would make your brain tremble.

Then consider our budget for the year, and you would get why

If I was being paid by tinubu, I would be praising him for being so considerate to keep fuel prices low.

I have been supporting subsidy removal since my eyes got opened in 2011. Before then, I was like you.

you must be really daft to think the previous governments were paying over N1,000 a litre to subsidise every litre of petrol imported.

Tinubu crass incompetence is what has move the landing price of petrol from less than 200 to over 1,000 in 1 year.
Politics / Re: Fuel Rises To ₦‎1,300/Litre As Depots Run Dry by Atk1nson(m): 7:07am On Jul 29
nairalanda1:
Here is the issue

It costs N1300 to bring petrol into the country, yet the Tinubu government insists on making it sell for N700 and less at the filling stations.

And you people expect there to be NO SCARCITY?

If we had removed oil subsidy in 1993, or even 2011...the last best time to have done it...none of this contraindications would have happened.

Over 700 million monthly goes on this abomination , and our debt is rising again. Haba.

So removal of fuel subsidy is the reason why petrol should increase from 145 per liter to 1,300 per litre?

You are probably just working hard to justify your minimum wage PR job, regardless its just a stupid thing to say

His last outing was on an APC campaign in anambra, perhaps APC was the one that worked him to death because that is not part of his senetorial duties

Please read the reliefs the lawyer is seeking. Those reliefs she is seeking came late and it came regrettably after the Army got the court warrant/ judgement.

If she had acted soon enough, the Nigerian Army would not have gotten the court to declare her AWOL and issue that warrant of arrest against her. That's what the lawyer is fighting to lift and unfortunately the FHC Judge didn't lift it and it will not be lifted in NIC.

You take too much fermented agbado.

The lady is married to a British citizen and likely now resident here. of what use if your arrest warrant. The lady already tendered her resignation indicating she considers her new life better than her former life under the nigerian army.

I saw a post on Facebook days back talking about experiences of people living in some neighborhood especially some estates in Abuja and everybody's I don't care attitude towards their neighbor and I thought to bring the topic here for your contributions.
.....m.e your experiences with I Don't Care kind of neighbours

I once lived in a gated compound where my flat was the first one and it had a jam lock.

On Saturdays when I am home, I kid you not, there can up to 10 times people without keys come and knock the gate during the weekend. People's girlfriend, technicians repairing something in People's flat, children, visitors, people who forgot their key, people who had key but did not understand how to work the jam lock....I was becoming the unpaid gateman of the compound as my flat was the closest one to the gate and a young bachelor living in a place where many are big families.

There were times I had to ignored for my sanity and peacc and people will probably have also called me a bad neighbour.

P60 shows how much you earned from an employer and the amount of tax taken. Does not state if tax was over or under.

Also , as it is issued per employer, you'll have multiple p60s if you worked for more than one employer in the year.

For over or under tax, create or check your online hmrc account

Or get pregnant for her husband. That should be your first thought because why get pregnant for another man when you can get pregnant for your husband?

I just read between the lines. People are not usually called "babymama" when they have children with their husbands.

May be misleading use of words though

Goodenoch:

Given the ease of wanting to become a baby mama, one can probably speculate on the kind of dependent.

My own issue is even with the child she’s proposing to birth. Imagine being willing to give birth to a child just for this purpose. Then the child will likely grow up in the streets, grow to join gangs due to no parental oversight as there’s no father and mother is working twice as much to earn half as much as she would if she were legal, ultimately becoming one of the feral gangsters dealing drugs and stabbing people around, and so likely end up in jail or worse.

Madam Jenny, you should have mercy on that child abeg. Go back and try again or try anything else other than this baby mama strategy. It’s not even likely to succeed, so you’ll likely just put the child through the worst life possible for nothing at all.

If the dependant is her husband, I guess she intends to get pregnant for someone else while still married to her Nigerian husband.

It is well.

Please what advice can you give in this scenario. A lady came to the UK with student visa and a dependent but could not meet up with the fee and the visa has been cancelled. She doesn't plan on going back what are her options. Baby mama is one option but then again giving birth can be quite expensive as there won't be nhs funding. Plus 7 years no be child's play o. Though that the only option that seems viable since marrying a citizen is not that easy.

Probably sounds offpoint but why will she not want to return to Nigeria?

The UK is not heaven and living here as an overstayer is probably a hard life.

Even deliveroo, you wont be able to do in peace without fear of being snitched on.

Btw what has the dependant being up to or is it a minor?

Allen Junction is a don't enter zone. If u know u will not cross over don't enter the intersection and stop in no mans land. Many times we drive without knowledge of traffic law.
Although the lastma guys generally try to take advantage of road users, but majority of drivers too are ignorant of traffic laws. When d light is blinking yellow or even if its tail end of the green and u have calculated that traffic is not moving fast and u will stop before u completely cross over to the other side, u are meant to wait and not contribute to obstruction of other road users.

Rightly said, ideally even if the light is green, you dont cross except your exit is clear. Round abouts and junctions when controlled by a traffic light should be kept clear.

Also lastma may indeed have cameras that read number plates. They are fairly common abroad, parking spots, traffic lights and even police cars often have them. I don't think deploying the technology is a challenge , the issue is likely that the database in nigeria is outdated or not updated so lastma still has to do physical enforcement.

Where the database is up to date, no one will tell you that you park wrongly or beat traffic light, you simply get the letter in your mailbox accusing you of the traffic offense with picture evidence and giving you the option of paying a fine or meeting them in court.

A man winning best dressed female award in a competition with lots of other women? This is a clear support for crossdressing and an insult to the female folk.

But then again, women who are outraged by this should remember that they too wear clothes that are classified as men's clothing so make una take am like that.

Tells you that if not for makeup and wig, most men are "beautiful" than their female counterparts grin
