Car Talk / Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by Atk1nson(m): 4:48am On Feb 16 |
Missowombo: The good thing is he paid by instalment. In the normal course of business, title is not transferred until full payment is made. So even if you made a commitment to sell to him upon (full) payment, the fact that you rescinded the decision before he made full payment puts you in the green. However, if he can prove he did borrow to make that purchase, you may owe him the interest on the loan as he took the loan because you gave him a legitimate expectation that the car could be his. However, if he has made full payment, that becomes tricky as you are reneging on a verbal contract and should compensate him well for the inconvenience 150 Likes 5 Shares |

alezzy13: It is his idiocy in removing subsidy and floating the naira at same time without any plan in place that caught up with him. Nigeria is probably paying more subsidy now than when petrol was N97 per liter on account on exchange rate. |

Basic123: embrace productivity and shun joblessness, your life will be better and your parents will be proud to see you doing something useful with your life. Don't forget it took your mother 9 months to carry you, she would expect better from you. NB - working as a low-paid ethnic bigot and APC propagandist does not count as a job or productive use of your time. |

Food / Re: Look At What I Bought For N1000 Naira by Atk1nson(m): 2:54pm On Feb 13 |
Basic123: Your joblessness is one of the reason Nigeria's economy is tanking. Able-bodied man, continues dragging Peter Obi when the election has been concluded almost 1 year ago, leaving areas where he can try to be productive and lift himself out of poverty. |

Politics / Re: Nine Months After Subsidy Removal, Where Are The Palliatives As Promised? by Atk1nson(m): 10:39am On Feb 10 |
Kukutenla: Exactly, Tinubu rode on Fashola's performance claiming he drew then blueprint. The only thing Tinubu did in Lagos was to increase IGR and he was forced to do it because OBJ withheld allocation for many months. Even at that, he made sure to give himself a hefty pension through Alphabeta slicing a bit of lagos igr into his pocket 2 Likes 1 Share |

joe10: Call hmrc and reconfirm your details. At times, hmrc assumes you've taken a second job rather than move jobs, also they estimate income. I'll rather call to straighten it out, rather than wait to be in a refund or debt position |
Business / Re: Banks To Pay Customers Money Sent From Abroad In Naira by Atk1nson(m): 8:41am On Feb 09 |

Ahmed0336: This is the kind of mindset that took Nigeria to this level. So you mean in useful country, accident victims requiring emergency stabilisation are turn away and left to writhe in pain till death? We make excuses for politicals leaders, making them have little sense of accountability and reward incompetence In a normal country, when something like this happens, it will make headline, people will talk a lot it, people will lose their jobs for it, politicians in the area will be forced to resign or be booted out of office, police investigation for negligence will be opened against a few people...........that is how you build accountability and competence. Suggesting it was unavoidable or describing it as the will of God is what Nigerians use to destroy the country 1 Like |

Lexusgs430: Aptly said, his predecessor lived part-time in the UK, doing a lot of meaningless globe-trotting burning scare FX. Tinubu's children own several real estate abroad, his grand children school abroad, same with Buhari's children. Tinubu is one of Nigeria's rightest politician without any well known business, and I quite sure a sizeable portion of his wealth is stored in foreign currency. These two presidents are also the ones who raked up most of Nigeria's foreign loans. Today someone is blaming dorm account holders, foreign currency speculators and Nigerians having foreign taste but exporting nothing for the poor state of the FX . Yesterday, the official market rate went above the black market rate. Read an articule yesterday that tied it to Dangote sourcing forex to buy crude for his refinery. NNPC is currently unable to supply Dangote enough crude because it has traded future production for loans.....guess who is responsible ? 2 Likes |

adekzy: You seem to have a weird fascination with draconian and heavy-handed tactics. I recall you were the one also justifying hamas and vilifying US. Definitely at some point you benefited from the dorm account balances you were referring to fund your travels. Speculation exists the in every sector in a free market economy. Naira has shown a high level of instability since APC took power, and the current speculative activity reflects the poor handling of the foreign exchange situation by the current and past presidents. The current speculative activity is the result and not the cause of naira's instability. Also, do not assume everyone operating a dorm account is doing so for speculative purposes. If businesses project that they will have to buy FX at a higher rate to fund their activities in the future, it gives them a high incentive to lock in prices by buying FX now so they can hedge against FX losses in the future. Obj and GEJ managed to keep the exchange stable and speculators at bay, the chicago accountant may go to them to learn one or two. 11 Likes |

fullclub: You're not lazy, you just don't seem to have the right mindset to succeed here. May be in Nigeria, your mindset works. This person below is one the persons that entered uk recently and is already holding down 2 jobs. Go to the uk immigrant thread and see people getting information and making moves, many of the recent immigrants. Not sure you have taken time to connect with anyone there or asked questions there, rather stay here writing your book of lamentations. The uk mortgage thread has awoken from dormancy and is now one of the top thread in the travel section. Check many of the active members, they are recent immigrants also. You think they all had it far better than you? Every aboki to his kettle, I leave you to continue in your ways

izzou: You waste time talking to that guy. Since the guy mentioned that no evidence of subsidy removal in spite of the obvious, I note he is not one that quarrels with common sense. If after you supported Tinubu and likely Buhari, you are seeking to go to Poland as an illegal immigrant, common sense would tell him that something is wrong in his reasoning, but alas, he remains at war with common sense. He continues to blame Peter Obi for his problem and claim tinubu is the best. Not a very smart fellow. 5 Likes |
