Dear Family landers. I am here to seek your advice on how to rescue my car from my neighbour.

The good thing is he paid by instalment.

In the normal course of business, title is not transferred until full payment is made.

So even if you made a commitment to sell to him upon (full) payment, the fact that you rescinded the decision before he made full payment puts you in the green.

However, if he can prove he did borrow to make that purchase, you may owe him the interest on the loan as he took the loan because you gave him a legitimate expectation that the car could be his.

However, if he has made full payment, that becomes tricky as you are reneging on a verbal contract and should compensate him well for the inconvenience

Am not a fan of Tinubu, but y'all just opening your mouth and insulting with abandon.

Did any of you all read the above??

It is his idiocy in removing subsidy and floating the naira at same time without any plan in place that caught up with him.

Nigeria is probably paying more subsidy now than when petrol was N97 per liter on account on exchange rate.

Lemme quickly go. and drop bad news about this Tinubu government..on Twitter...I'm sure one of the fools who is part of the Seun Team from one region will still come to comply. and paste it on nairaland and it will make it. the front page...

embrace productivity and shun joblessness, your life will be better and your parents will be proud to see you doing something useful with your life.

Don't forget it took your mother 9 months to carry you, she would expect better from you.

NB - working as a low-paid ethnic bigot and APC propagandist does not count as a job or productive use of your time.

Exactly, Tinubu rode on Fashola's performance claiming he drew then blueprint.

The only thing Tinubu did in Lagos was to increase IGR and he was forced to do it because OBJ withheld allocation for many months. Even at that, he made sure to give himself a hefty pension through Alphabeta slicing a bit of lagos igr into his pocket

Please, is there anything I can do to remedy this situation? I' ve got a job with NHS and received my pay in January 2024. I sent my P45 to NHS after i received my first pay and it was taxed meanwhile, I did not pay taxes in my first employment except NI as I was told that I would not be taxed till my cumulative income reached a threshold. I have explained to my new employer and I was advised to contact HMRC. Please, how do I go about this or is it normal to start paying taxes due to change of employment eventhough i have not reached the required threshold?

Call hmrc and reconfirm your details. At times, hmrc assumes you've taken a second job rather than move jobs, also they estimate income.

I'll rather call to straighten it out, rather than wait to be in a refund or debt position

Sorry for your loss.
It's unfortunate, same can happen irrespective if where one is.
May God grant her soul eternal rest.

This is the kind of mindset that took Nigeria to this level.

So you mean in useful country, accident victims requiring emergency stabilisation are turn away and left to writhe in pain till death?

We make excuses for politicals leaders, making them have little sense of accountability and reward incompetence

In a normal country, when something like this happens, it will make headline, people will talk a lot it, people will lose their jobs for it, politicians in the area will be forced to resign or be booted out of office, police investigation for negligence will be opened against a few people...........that is how you build accountability and competence.

Suggesting it was unavoidable or describing it as the will of God is what Nigerians use to destroy the country

This FX quagmire, is only going to get worse........ We are very reliant on back to back foreign loans to shore up the naira, fund our budgets, payback current loans, infrastructural development, foreign trips for bola, health tourism for bola, pay wages, steal, loot ètc etc .......😄

Once we finish spending the amount we borrowed, we go shopping for more loans .........😂😜

Which reasonable investor, would bring $ to Nigeria to invest (with all the news hitting all headlines)........

It's all calm, bola is in france relaxing..... It's all well back home .......😜😁

Aptly said, his predecessor lived part-time in the UK, doing a lot of meaningless globe-trotting burning scare FX. Tinubu's children own several real estate abroad, his grand children school abroad, same with Buhari's children. Tinubu is one of Nigeria's rightest politician without any well known business, and I quite sure a sizeable portion of his wealth is stored in foreign currency. These two presidents are also the ones who raked up most of Nigeria's foreign loans.

Today someone is blaming dorm account holders, foreign currency speculators and Nigerians having foreign taste but exporting nothing for the poor state of the FX grin.

Yesterday, the official market rate went above the black market rate. Read an articule yesterday that tied it to Dangote sourcing forex to buy crude for his refinery. NNPC is currently unable to supply Dangote enough crude because it has traded future production for loans.....guess who is responsible ?

Why are you so bitter as if you are from the sadEast part of Nigeria.

.....
As at November last year, over $29billion is currently sitting idle in all domiciliary account across the country, yet we dey cry say no dollars. WHY?

Why should we dollarised our economy for non productive adverture at the expenses of our local economic drive and the mases who dont have the opportunity to edge thier naira to save in dollars.

If possible, the Govt should just "borrow" all those idle dollars cool temporary and return it when the economy is stable...but I doubt if they have "Political Will" as most of the politicians are also culprits.

So Mr Thread, your bitterness will only gives you HBP if you don't disect the real issue without sentiment and emotion.

You seem to have a weird fascination with draconian and heavy-handed tactics. I recall you were the one also justifying hamas and vilifying US.

Definitely at some point you benefited from the dorm account balances you were referring to fund your travels. Speculation exists the in every sector in a free market economy. Naira has shown a high level of instability since APC took power, and the current speculative activity reflects the poor handling of the foreign exchange situation by the current and past presidents. The current speculative activity is the result and not the cause of naira's instability.

Also, do not assume everyone operating a dorm account is doing so for speculative purposes. If businesses project that they will have to buy FX at a higher rate to fund their activities in the future, it gives them a high incentive to lock in prices by buying FX now so they can hedge against FX losses in the future.

Obj and GEJ managed to keep the exchange stable and speculators at bay, the chicago accountant may go to them to learn one or two.

Bloody liar, reechoing the false narrative the western media were pushing to justify genocide!.

There is no evidence that Hamas killed and raped women+children, the news has been debunked many times. Even in the concert where people were actually killed, The Israeli Defense force claimed responsibility as they mistakenly thought those people were clustered Hamas group or they deliberately bombed them to escalate their genocidal intention.

Therefore, how many Hamas Members have actually been killed post October 7th.... rather an entire cityscape was turned to rubbles.

The annoying thing is that after this bombing, the Isreali are planning to settle his citizen on the blood and home of the Palentine with the help of the puppet in the Merica govt.

Every injustice should be called out irrespective.!

This is the china that does not saddle other countries with loan.

Nigeria is also facing huge budgetary problems due to servicing chinese loans, a problem likely to get worse in the future.

You hate the west and western media but close to live in the same west.

Also if russia is allowed to conquer ukraine, they will keep marching west wards, eventually europe would start another war.

When you are in need you go understand that the only people you have are your family... Blood relative and no one else
Even 10 pounds no one will dash you here.

I landed a 20 hours forklift job after I did a certification that cost me a much... That certification in that field prevented others who don't have same certificate from applying.
So you can see that the job market is responding to demand and supply.

People came to attack me saying lie, lazy this that... Someone that gathered 15m in Nigeria without fraud is lazy.

You're not lazy, you just don't seem to have the right mindset to succeed here. May be in Nigeria, your mindset works.

This person below is one the persons that entered uk recently and is already holding down 2 jobs.

Go to the uk immigrant thread and see people getting information and making moves, many of the recent immigrants.

Not sure you have taken time to connect with anyone there or asked questions there, rather stay here writing your book of lamentations.

The uk mortgage thread has awoken from dormancy and is now one of the top thread in the travel section. Check many of the active members, they are recent immigrants also.

You waste time talking to that guy. Since the guy mentioned that no evidence of subsidy removal in spite of the obvious, I note he is not one that quarrels with common sense.

If after you supported Tinubu and likely Buhari, you are seeking to go to Poland as an illegal immigrant, common sense would tell him that something is wrong in his reasoning, but alas, he remains at war with common sense.

He continues to blame Peter Obi for his problem and claim tinubu is the best. Not a very smart fellow.
