The APC has been consistent in saying that the PDP has ruled Nigeria for 16 disastrous years in which corruption, impunity, insurgency, armed robbery and several ills of society held sway. But a very close look at the APC, I am seeing

* Amaechi - 8yrs speaker; 7yrs governor under PDP,

* Atiku - 8yrs Vice president under PDP,

* Akume -8yrs governor under PDP,

* Bukola Saraki - 8yrs governor; 2yrs Senator under PDP,

* Timipre Sylver -4yrs governor under PDP,

* Audu Ogbe - 2yrs chairman of PDP,

* Aminu Masari - 4yrs Reps speaker under PDP,

* Chris Ngige - 3yrs governor under PDP,

* Kwankwaso - 7yrs governor, 3yrs Defense minister under PDP,

* El-Rufai - 4yrs FCT minister, 2yrs BPE chairman under PDP,

* Oyinlola, 7 and half years governor under PDP,

* Segun Oni, 3 and half years governor under PDP,

And to cap it all they went to OBJ begging, a man who they claimed spent 8 of the disastrous 16 yrs as the maximum ruler of Nigeria to come and lead them on a rescue mission.

It is now clearer that APC is a waste basket of the PDP, where the people who created and perpetuated the "16 Disastrous years" are now dumped.

Please Nigerians what is the change in this APC?

"Most Beautiful Girl At UNILAG Rewarded With A Brand New Car While The Most Brilliant Debater Gets A Laptop

Damilare Babajide, a 4th year law student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), yesterday took home a brand new car and other unnamed perks after emerging winner of the 2014 Miss UNILAG pageant.

Ms. Babajide’s windfall immediately ignited a debate among students and lecturers, with some criticizing the material rewards bestowed on a so-called beauty queen when the same university hands a mere computer and some cash to winners of its demanding debate contest.

One lecturer, who asked for anonymity, said he was troubled that the car and other gifts to the university’s beauty queen far outstripped the prizes given on September 10 to the winner of the university debate competition. Zainab Olaitan, a 2nd year political science major at UNILAG who won the university’s rigorous academic debate competition, was awarded N100,000 and a laptop computer.

UNILAG vice chancellor, Rahman Bello, handed the cash and laptop to the indomitable 18-year-old debater.

The lecturer also noted that last year’s winner of the debate competition, Ms. Mary Adegunloye, received a laptop and N50,000.

“I understand that the university management was planning to give the same paltry sum of N50,000 cash prize this year to the winner of the debate, but decided to double the cash prize because of criticisms from some lecturers and student leaders,” said the source.

In addition, he said that pressure was put on the university’s management to give N50,000 each to runners-up in this year’s debate.

Ms. Damilare received her car gift today after emerging Miss UNILAG in a beauty contest organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA).

SR could not immediately ascertain the amount of cash and other perks awarded to the beauty queen, but Ms. Damilare told our correspondent in a TV interview that the sum was “encouraging.”

Reacting to the disparity in gifts for the beauty contest and the debate competition, a few students told our correspondent that the relatively small reward for intellectual achievement was likely to affect the academic morale of students on campus."


I was troubled when i go through this write up by SR. I immediately tried to discard the write-up on the premises that the so called CAR might not come from the DSA as claimed, maybe from sponsors. But on a second thought, i tried to look at the latent intent behind the source of the money for the two gift. If an institution as big as UNILAG cannot source for sponsors for the School debate that the winner of such debate can only parted with a meagre sum of money. How come a CAR for winner of her beauty pageant. UNILAG to my submission, should be all encompassing. Academics before beauty. Not beauty before academics. What is your stake.

Can someone tell me what is the difference between Liberian Patrick Sawyer who left his country with knowledge of having EVD and our so called Diplomat who after contacting Sawyer, sneaked into the town distributing the EVD to innocent Nigerians.
