But you beat your chest and tell your self you are a brave man and accept Northern domination without a fight. If that is what you call Akpu logic then you should be eating it everyday. Don't mind him, to them ewedu logic is 'sophistication' or better put, cowardice. The Igbos have risen up to engage Nigeria in arms frontally something no other tribe has been able to do. |

ImperialYoruba: Beside Yoruba who is a good model of strength in South to emulate?
Yoruba is who everybody in the country, and the continent, is trying hard to be like. We are a place of refuge and survival for those who lost their ancestry and homeland, a place of peace for those whose region is on the brink of collapse, we are the sustainer of cultural heritage and imperial pride, in our land is milk and honey for those who arrive penniless and overtime became worthy.
I wonder what OP understand STRENGTH to mean. Continue to mistake cowardice for sophistication, na una sabi. |

attackgat: I agree with OP. The SW are the weak link that the North have used to exploit Nigeria. There many examples of this but I will mention two
1) If the South of Nigeria is regarded as SW/SE/SS then the SW are the only ones never to have taken up arms against the North. SE have done it in the Biafran war. SS have done it with the Niger-Delta militants (MEND, NDVF, NDA). The SW have never done anything.
2) Lagos is regarded as being in the SW and part of Yourubaland. But this same Lagos was siezed by Northerners in 1966 and used as their 'control base' to rule Nigeria from the 60's right into the 90's when the capital was moved to Abuja. It would have been impossible for the Northerners to rule Nigeria from Enugu or anywhere in the SE, the Igbos would risen one day and wiped them out. It would have been impossible for them to rule Nigeria from Portharcourt or anywhere in the SS, the militants would have chased them out. But it is Lagos they can go and relax for nearly 30 years because they know that the Yorubas cannot do anything. You are right. They have never taken up arms against the north, just wait for them to come and tell you that they are sophisticated people and can't do such. The whole Biafran war was prosecuted from their land where they allowed northern soldeirs occupy everywhere yet wonder why the Biafran army marched towards Lagos. |

Politics › Yoruba Is The Weak Link In The South by attacker321(op): 9:55am On Jul 06, 2016 |
From all indications, the Yoruba is the weak link in the south. I say this with all sense of responsibility.
The far north i.e, the Hausa/Fulani know that the Yoruba is the soft spot where they can always take advantage of to hold everybody down especially the Yoruba muslims.
If not for the weakness of the Yoruba, by now the South would have been able to pull down the fulani hegemony and look the north in the face and say 'Enough is enough.'
2015 was a great opportunity to tell the north that you cannoy always get what you want or bully your way into power but Yoruba under the guise of 'sophistication' messed everything up.
The hausa/fulani threatened that there would be no Nigeria if they didn't get back their power in 2015 and the South ought to have called their bluff but because of yoruba 'sophistication' see where we are today.

How can a sane Yoruba man say that the Igbo is his problem like whathaveidone and yournemesis are trying to tell iamDiabolic? We may quatell and shout and curse but we know our limits. Fulani herdsmen go about raping women all over the south, they kill us, destroy our farms. Look at what the hausas did in Mile12. They even burnt a celestial church on Yoruba soil, killed Yorubas including children, burnt cars, shops, houses. A yoruba man escaped alive because he could speak hausa on yoruba soil! It is crystal clear that Buhari is all about handing over Nigeria to the north; their birthright since they are born to rule.
Following the full norhternisation of the NNPC and the demotion of Kachikwu from the office of the GMD to a ceremonial chairman, I expect him to resign from this government immediately. I can see that the fulanis are very good at using people especially southerners and dumping them when they are done.
Kachikwu has gone through all the mess of subsidy removal and all that and it is time for the real ownwers of power in Nigeria, the sons of Ustman Dan fodio to take their birthright back. The bigot Buhari is done with Kachikwu and has replaced him with a son of Fouta Jallon.
The oil belongs to the Niger Delta, why can't we have a GMD from there? Why can't the board be filled with sons of the Niger Delta? Why must it always be the sons of Dan fodio? Are there no qualified persons from the Niger Delta?
As Nigeria is today the military/security apparatus and the oil industry is firmly in the hands of the sons of fouta jallon. These guys are hell bent on carrying on with the orders of their late sardauna to use the south as a conquered territory and the MB as willing tools.
Buhari by his latest action with the NNPC has given legitimacy to the NDA agitation. Bigot Buhari has given legitimacy to Aniko Briggs and others. He is even giving legitimacy to Nnamdi Kanu for calling Nigeria a zoo. A lot of reasonable and intelligent people that disagreed with Nnamdi Kanu before have now come to accept Nigeria as a zoo.
Shame to bigot Buhari.
