@Attraction, it might take a while before you get an interview date. So it depends on when likely you think the South Africa Embassy will give you your passport (with the visa). If it'll be done by October (or even November) then I'd say no problem as interview dates for October is almost filled up (if not filled up already) so the passport is of no use to you till after October (or November).

So my advice is this. Don't worry about the passport. Just track your K1 casefile with the US Embassy to be sure its with them and that its ready to be scheduled for interview (it may take up to a month before NVC sends your casefile to the Embassy). Then send an email to the Embassy requesting confirmation and a go-ahead to schedule an interview (it may take a week to get the go-ahead from the Embassy). Once you get the go-ahead from the Embassy, make necessary payments at gtbank (you can use photocopy of your passport at the bank), fill the DS160 form and then check for interview dates. By then I'm guessing October dates will be filled up and only November and December (or even January) dates will be available. Then pick the available date (don't worry if you couldnt pick a date before the December expiry date, the most important thing is that you did the scheduling before the expiry date). Then walk in to the approved clinic for your medicals (for Lagos this should be done at least 2 weeks before your interview date, for Abuja it can be one week although walk-ins are not allowed and an appointment has to be scheduled with them). However note that you will need your passport for the medicals. So if you think you will not be able get back your passport 2 weeks before the interview date, then you can initiate the move to retrieve it.

My k1 visa NOA2 has been approved thank GOD on Aug 29,2019 but I got mail Sept 9th. I didn't know it will be this fast cos it was filled in May 16th,2019 and NoA1 in Jun 03,2019. NOA2 petition will expire on 28 December, 2019.

My problem now is I'm very worried cos my fiance and I planned going to South Africa in November just vacation cos we've been in Nigeria together 3times and dubai 2 times. I applied for SA visa August 30,2019 in Abuja just few days before xenophobia saga began and my goodness I heard it takes months before passport is returned. If I had known my NOA2 will come so fast I wouldn't have applied.

Please should I go back to Abuja to apply for withdrawal? Because I need my passport to complete my process once I hear from NVC.

I don’t think this is cogent reason enough to travel because the vo will consider how beneficial this conference is to you personally and most especially your job , honestly I think even sight seeing or tourism would have sufficed.
Just go back and repackage , hopefully you’ll be granted

Thanks. I will try again next year. After visiting UK and South Africa and maybe some European countries. I wouldn't have applied, just tot the conference was a good one as it makes great leadership out of the youth. But God knows best.

I'm genuinely going for an interview on Feb 4th in Abuja, I have a youth assembly conference in New York on Feb 14th, I'm going for 10days. I'm a banker, earn above 350k monthly, I have been to Indonesia 2015 and Dubai 2018.

I'm going to Dubai next week with my outstanding 10days leave from last year for vacation, this trip has already been planned and paid for. I know US visa is not guaranteed so let me 1st enjoy my 2nd Dubai trip and attend the interview immediately I return. I'm single, no kid... My tie is my job.

I have been denied US visa twice, 1st in 2015, I was going for a competition to represent Nigeria with vacation from work. 2nd denial was in Dec 2016 I was going for a friend's wedding in New York. In fact I used him as my contact address. The vo asked me if I was married, I said no, if i have a child I said no. He said sorry you can try again next time.

I don't have to get married for American visa. It's this conference I want to attendooo, I'm not running away, it's a paid conference, paid about $250 , I booked hotel via expedia. Com for 10days.

To be on the safe side, exclude your friend coming from the US with big bucks from your application entirely cos it will not fly with the ECO. Work on providing adequate documentations that you can afford the trip and establish your home ties by getting letter of introduction from your employer. Get your pay slips, tidy up your account and be sure there are no unexplainable deposits. Book a hotel, write a cover letter and also ensure you address the issues raised in your previous refusal.

Please i am a banker, i earn 235,000 monthly though i earn more but this is what hits my account because our pension is taken at source. I have 1.3M in my account, it runs as fixed deposit but drops in my account with interest on monthly basis. Please i want to visit UK for 7 days vacation. @attraction; I really don't dig why that is proving difficult for you to do sha. Please put a CALL (I mean a CALL! It works better than that feedback thing) across to them, it will only take them a few minutes to do that for you, I have seen it work, so, I'm authoritavely gunning for you going this my suggested route. Now they responded that they have sent temporal password to the same email I told them I didn't open. So how do I get the temporal password. ME: I work with (I name the federal agency and state what we do). I am an IT analyst.

ME: Yes I have been to the UK and Republic of Ireland.

VO: Can I see your previous passport?
ME: (hands him the passport and he flips thru it o verify the UK and Ireland visas).

God I claim this kind of blessing. Can I say if asked why New York? Because I have a friend who is willing to accommodate me and be my tour guide? My salary is 234k monthly I know it's pretty small. I really will love a Christmas in New York.

1. Did u step out of the airport in those afor mentioned locations? If no, then its merely a stopover and you cannot say u have visited those place.
2. Yes. Both figures represent your total income. Fill that in the form and explain the breakdown to the vo if she asks how much you earn. Don't wait to be asked for the breakdown. Volunteer it.
3. No. U cannot retrieve a submitted form. That is why people are told to stay away from agents. If he has misrepresented in any way, you have made your job doubly harder. Well, fill the truth and tell the vo an agent filled the last one.
4. Whether you go with an invite or whatever is irrelevant. Your ties is the deciding factor. You can put your friend as a contact if you are staying with him.
However, though u didn't ask this, why don't you wait for some time before reapplying. You were refused, you jetted off to some country then quicly wish to reapply. And u say u are a banker. If I am a vo , I will not place much weight on your job as a tie

Secondly please if asked for a contact person should I put the name of a friend or leave it blank. Thirdly Please can I have the link for the application cos an agent did the last one. But I'm doing this myself. Fourthly I earn xyz as a banker and xyz as a model ; should I join the both figure? Finally; during my trip to Indonesia we stopped at Doha cos it's Qatar airways.
