Things are happening, didnt you do biometrics when you went for your K1 visa interview? Covid19 is changing a lot. If they needyour biometrics they can get it. kunlelikeme: |
Delay happens when you dont file completely. Any application for USCIS must be properly filed with All necessary information needed, once you dnt or miss out things, you delay your process, they will just put it aside, whether its for k1 visa or AOS, follow instructions on USCIS and file completely. Tesilicious: |
Its happening for real. You can confirm on visa journey. I think they re trying to avoid backlogs because of Covid19 select500: |
Meanwhile some people who have done their AOS biometrics are getting green cards without interview. Covid19 is changing things. Seemed they went back to the previous format they had years ago. I pray this benefits us all! Stay safe pple! |
This information is just for those undergoing adjustment of Status. I read that if you file AOS when your k1 is still active (you got married within 90days ). The public charge rule wont affect, you will fill the i-944 forms but it won't be admissible. But if you file AOS after 90days of entry and your K1 non immigrant status is expired, omo the i-944 public charge forms will be scrutinized 100%. And that forms no be small thing. You need evaluation of your transcript or certificates by NACEs member, you need statement of account of the cash you have as at the time of filling as evidence...U convert it to dollars etc, even though you will put your spouse assets etc, you need something for yourself cos the form is about you proving you won't be a public charge. You can research on this info...for those yet to be here or those filling. Congrats to you all! |
I haven't used WES, I think Spantran is a bit flexible. If you already have your transcript, you scan to them and pay a fee and they will verify and evaluate. Paccus: |
Congratulations Good GOD! NTUk1: |
Just in case you are struggling with evaluation of your certificate or transcript. You can use Spantran, they are quite good. They are also a member of NACEs as specified by USCIS. www.spantran.com |
K1 & K3 are both non immigrant visas because you are not coming in with a green card. I don't think the ban affects both. I don't think the ban also affects adjustment of Status. The ban specifically affects immigrant visas on people outside US trying to come in on green cards not those in US on K1 adjusting status for a green card. My opinion |
If you were born before 1993, you need to collect attestation of birth from NPC to be on safer side just come with both. NTUk1: |
I don't think the ban affects those adjusting status via K1 visa. Meanwhile I'm in US now. Good luck to all those preparing for interview, put GOD 1st and put all your documents together. Give it your best shot. Wish you all success. Meanwhile US fineooooooo

Congratulations Legit GOD is Good, please which one is immunization card? I have DS 3025 LegitBachelor: |
My opinion, initiate the K1 visa and follow the process, it takes 6-7months. By the time you get to the visa issuance stage, the visa ban must have been called off. Daslimo: |
I did mine 8,000 and collected it less than 1hour paosca20: |
Same thing that's bothering me, I don't want to get there and wait for work permit for 12 months, doing nothing and adding no value because of the ban, this is worrisome kunlelikeme: |
Please does it mean they've returned it back to the embassy. Somebody pls say something. Planned going on Thursday.

If my fiance lives in New York, but I'm landing in Newark NJ...is it a problem? Because of the envelope I need to submit at point of entry. Must it be the city my fiance lives? Pls advise |
Please I got a mail my passport is ready for collection and at where I chose Dhl port Harcourt. But with what I ve read here, it should be in the place the consular officer circled for me in DHL VI Lagos abi? I don't want to waste my time and get to PH and they will say it's not there. Please advise... |
My K1 visa was approved and I want to say a big thank you to LegitBachealor & the rest of the members here for all the contributions. I had my interview on Jan 15th and I just tracked it, it's showing issued, so waiting for the notification to go to DHL. So let me give the low down how everything happened. Our case actually expired on 28th Dec,2019 but I was able to get interview date before expiration. I did my medicals in Lagos 13th December and picked it on 14th January morning because I don't stay in Lagos. Even though it was ready as at 23rd December. The consultant practice Ikoyi very friendly people. I collected police certificate same day I did medicals and paid them 8k at Alagbon picked it up same day. On 14th January I lodged at Atlantic hotel vi lagos musa yaradua road. I didn't want stories. The hotel is 25k per a night and I didn't mind because I wanted to be close to the embassy as possible. Woke up 5am and got to the embassy 5.30am. People don full everywhere. I paid one security 1k and dropped my bag and phone. My interview was for 7.30am. So after all the queue and all, we were inside for the interview. No be small thing. Those for visit visa b1/b2 were just so much. I kept hearing please take your passport you re not eligible for the US visa...I'm sorry I'm sorry everywhere GOD. Those for immigrants were about 40. I focused on myself, already arranged all my documents in different transparent folders. Secondary evidence, primary evidence, compulsory requirements etc. My turn for the submission window and thumbprint verification. The lady asked for Affidavit of support, police clearance certificate, medicals (don't open it until you get to the embassy & they ask you to at the queue), original birth certificate, w2 tax etc, passport photo and my international passport. I gave her all in 2 mins. Had it all arranged in my compulsory folder. Then I sat down and waited till I was called around 11.30am The consular officer a black American asked me to take the oath which I did, finger print and interview startedooo. I tried my best to keep an eye contact on him, everything I learnt on this forum. Questions upon questions So who filed for you? How did you meet? Where's she from? Where does she stay ? ( THIS one I named the address in full) What does she do? Where does she work? How many times have you met? When did you propose? I was already doing so well with All my legit answers then from nowhere he asked me this question... You have been denied tourist visa 3 times, what's the circumstances surrounding it? I explained to him the conference I wanted to attend but was denied, i gave him dates of all the application even the 1st one in 2014. No lie at all. Thank GOD I never lied in my application or said married when I was single. He then asked me if I had ever lived outside Nigeria...I said No. Next thing he said I believe I have enough information to approve your visa. He gave me two papers and said I should pick up my visa in two weeks and circled the Dhl address. I said thank you. Wow it can only be GOD. Nigeria is really on a radar even if you are genuine, you need to pray that everything works out well. Yankee here we come okooo Thanks everyone!!! |
Please I did my medicals in Lagos but was asked to come on 24th Dec for collection but I'm out of the country at the moment. My interview is on January 15th. Please must I come on 24th Dec to pick it because it means spending Christmas in Lagos or can I pick it in January before my interview. Please someone advise... |
Is there any professional exam like gmat ...u will advise someone to take here, that will make things easier for you in the US? |
Somebody help me please, I just committed a blunder. The ds160 code on my appointment confirmation page is different from my ds160 code. Please help me. |
First available appointment is 15th January 2020. Petition will expire 28th December 2019. What's the way forward? |
Our case is ready on the embassy website and a mail has been to my fiance to inform me to fill ds160, pay visa fees and schedule for interview. Our case will expire 28th December. Unfortunately my fiance lost her job 2 weeks back and have been doing a lot of application and interview. Last week she just got a new job to resume today, the new job pays about $28,000 annually. But her previous job was paying $101,000. She didn't like the new job, she said she's taking it just because of our application. The job is way below her. Now I don't know whether I should go forward. Kindly advise. |
