PoliticsRe: Military Chiefs Angry With Boko-Haram Amnesty by audacious: 10:21am On Apr 05, 2013
Of cause any move to broker peace will upset the Military Chiefs.....peace means an end to Large Security Votes, huge defense contracts, allocation for checkpoints, patrols, JTF e.t.c. I pose a question, who do you think benefits the most when there is crisis in the country?

*Remember, money spent during such periods seldom get's scrutinized.

PoliticsRe: Upgraded Lagos Domestic Airport Is Crumbling by audacious: 9:49am On Feb 06, 2013
Symphony007: Those of you blaming jonathan for this keep exastubating the highest form of stupidity...he is the president of the federal republic of nigeria not the janitor of lagos local airport toilet, how do you expect him to know? Will he be everywhere at the same time? It is now up to you the users of that airport who pay money to FAAN for airport maintenance to get value for your money....blaming the president for everything is frankly ridiculous.
The OP did not at anytime blame GEJ for anything (please read and understand posts with an open mind). Besides, this is not a maintenance issue as the renovation has just been carried out and already the airport has issues. The OP is simply highlighting the shoddy job being done.

We need surveillance cameras around the streets, roads, subways, mainways etc by doing that we may be able to identify and catch the culprits. Nigeria can afford it.

SportsRe: Nigerians May Miss Out On Watching The 2013 Nations Cup by audacious: 5:17pm On Jan 09, 2013
I totally agree with BON on this one. Let's face it, the African Nations Cup isn't all that entertaining so why make the cost for broadcasting rights ridiculously high? For me, the package BON is contemplating makes sense. The Opening match, Super Eagles and Final matches are enough (under the circumstances). Besides, how many Nigerians will watch Niger vs DR Congo?

The Norwegian guy who killed 77 people and injured 151 was he a Muslim? The Irish Republican Army, are they Muslims too? Or the Group Eta in Spain? Because the Media only highlights the activities of Terrorist cells in certain countries doesn't mean others don't exist or do more harm......for your reading pleasure: http://www.cdi.org/terrorism/terrorist-groups.cfm

ComputersRe: Microsoft Displays Windows 8 Features: Watch The Video Here by audacious: 5:54pm On Sep 15, 2011
@ 4llerbuntu

Ain't your comments a bit hasty? It's a developer build and you ran it in VM. In your analysis you've pointed what you hate without tying it to your experience with the OS.

* Did the suspending apps in RAM function affect your use of the OS in any way?
* By the way, the Desktop is not run as an app and the Metro UI can be disabled if you prefer only the normal desktop interface.

I think it's quite clear you hate MS so much but sorry dude, most of the Tech world like what they've seen so far of Windows 8.

Has anyone in Nigeria gotten the update through OVi Suite or OTA?
Yep, updated my C7. Saw the update when I searched using the phone but it promts to use a PC for the update. I updated via Nokia Software Updater (about 350mb). After updating the firmware, search for software updates via the phone and you'll get 2 more updates (about 20mb each).

@ 4llerbuntu

All this long story, the problem wasn't/isn't as bad as you are making it out to be (The engadget link you posted doesn't help your cause as it is clear Engadget are Apple fan boys and generally hate on MS). 90% of devices updated successfully with only a few Samsung devices having problems and MS have (supposedly) solved that problem.

If you stay in Abuja I've not had Glo network reception since last night so I guess it's a network issue (I'm not using a blackberry though)

^^^
guess you were'nt having enough credit;
alright, which one of them do you want to subscribe to now?
@xreal, I've already mentioned that sufficient credit is not the issue.

audacious:
I can't seem to subscribe to any of the Glo data packages. No matter the package I choose I keep getting the message "Dear Customer, sorry you do not have sufficient airtime credit to complete this transaction. Please recharge and try again.".

* I have enough credit for the packages before trying to subscribe so thats not the problem
* I browse normally with the line (at 15kobo\kb), so that's not the problem either
* Glo customer care was no help

Anyone else have the same problem? or knows a solution?
