Flakeyy:I don't think there's any harm in sending to both... |
Flakeyy:Consider also sending a "Ready to Travel email" to Accra and also do same via CSE... You never can tell. |
Flakeyy:Don't lose hope please. I was also March 2019. Got my PPR last week Tuesday. Yours and all others waiting will surely come soon. Keep speaking and staying positive. It's going to end in praise!!! |
stereo:Apologies saw it late. I've responded |
It's finally PPR!!!!! AOR: March 2019 Biometrics: April 2019 Medical: May 2019 1st ADR: May 2019 2nd ADR: June 2019 Longggggggggggggg wait............ 3 GCMS notes in-between GU 1: November 20th 2020 GU 2: November 23rd 2020 PPR: November 26th 2020 VO: AVO FSW Outland Nigeria It indeed been a long wait, say about 20 months. If you're out there still waiting, hang in there! Never ever give up. Keep living your life, don't put it on hold please ..... Keep praying, keep believing. We all will testify soon. Special thanks to amazing Seniors here who have held our hands and supported all the way - Ednut, Zeus04, mamaroon and a countless host of others. You've all been a blessing. Let's keep encouraging and supporting each other. |
Hello again Seniors in the house, I just want your advice as I near the end of this interesting journey. My AoR is March 2019; from my last GCMS notes eligibility is passed, background check (security + criminality) pending. However last week there were 2 GUs on medical which was extended and background which changed from to "we are processing..." Then again on Monday I noticed another update "we are reviewing your additional documents"... Now my question: My POF was initially in my wife's name which we provided a LOE during the application. Several months ago, the investments matured and we liquidated converted to USD and lodged into my account. (NB: I have in excess of the minimum) Question: do I need to send another LOE to notify them, while attaching all the supporting bank statements?. Thanks to help with your advice. |
I am on the FSW aplication with AOR March 2019. Eligibility has been passed from my last GCMS; the pending items were criminality and security, while medical expired some months. However I noticed today that a ghost updated my profile . The message was *"Latest update: Review of medical results- November 20, 2020 "you have passed medical exam"*Seniors in the house: what does this mean please? What should I expect? Thanks |

[quote author=WeAreDLucky1s post=89042820]Ladies & Gentlemen, I raised CSE 2 days ago requesting the current status of my application and today I got an e-mail response from CIC with the below excerpt; Q: Abeg, does "Application Approved" mean PPR or just that the application is approved for review? This is looking like good news, ie. PPR. Congrats in advance. Where's your VO? Thanks |
Hello Nairalandians, I have been a silent reader and follower since I discovered this site several months ago. I have found it really helpful, insightful, educating and sometimes "anonying" especially when I see certain posts which go against the spirit and letter of this site. First, I would like to say a big Thank You to the contributors, leaders and readers here and also pray that God will continue to bless and meet everyone's need. Now, to my main purpose for this post. Essentially this is just to share my story, though not yet complete, in order to encourage my fellow soujourners and also appreciate those who have gone ahead of us. DECISION TO MIGRATE I have always nursed the idea of living and working outside the shores of Nigeria as far back as when I left the University around 2001. I even had a close friend who left for Canada I think around 2004 under a similar scheme them - highly skilled program or something. I can't recollect exactly. However, because I was too broke to even afford the funds for IELTS, I put that ambition in the cooler for the time being. At this time, I was working in the bank and later on I got a job in the oil industry. Over the years, it's not all being rosy and with each successive government, it kept getting worse. Finally, in 2018 I decided I had 'had enough' and was ready to finally make the move. ECA Due to limited knowledge, I sent both BSc & Masters for WES evaluation and did same for my spouse who had only a bachelor's degree. Her transcript took a while so it delayed the process. Ultimately, we got this sorted. IELTS As a result of my busy schedule, I hardly had time for prep for the exam. To be honest I took it for granted that this was just test of English. So the only real study I did was watching YouTube videos a day before the speaking test and also going through some online questions a day prior to the LRW tests respectively. Luckily I aced the exams with the following scores: LRSW: 8.5, 8.5, 8, 7.5. For my spouse it was 6.5, 7.5, 7, 6 ITA We got into the pool in June 2018 and started praying about ITA. Prayer and faith works, I tell you. If you don't believe in the efficacy of prayer, I encourage you to try it. I ultimately didn't only get an ITA in the most unexpected way, but also became a better person in the process. Just when we were almost giving up, there was a back-to-back ITA in January 2019 and the second one happened to be the lowest score of all draws till date. The score was 438, ours was 439! AOR / post-ITA Again due to inexperience it took us almost 2 months to get all documents from the ITA on January 31st 2019 to when we finally submitted in March. During that time also I had one of the worst experiences on my life - losing a very close family member. I was the primary applicant, and had to do the work of gathering all documents and getting references, etc.. During this time, I even noticed that some big boys in the oil industry i knew well were also doing same thing. Leaving their well paid jobs to seek stability, security and better future prospects for their family. Everything else happened very quickly between March and June. Biometrics - April 2019 ADRs - got 3 between April & June 2019 Medical _ March 2019 The 6 months processing time given was supposed to be due in September, but nothing seemed forthcoming. Then I started sending CSEs at least once monthly between September to December 2019. In December, I ordered for GCMS Notes and it came in January 2020, showing that file was still in Accra Visa Office (AVO). I raised CSEs to AVO, but kept getting same response "file is in queue" for processing" The GCMS showed also that eligibility was passed and everything else looked ok, except that Security and Criminality was not yet started. Again in February I requested another GCMS notes and when it came back a month later, it was basically the same thing. File transferred to Hong Kong due to load distribution. Latest Update The latest update was a ghost update early March and nothing has moved since then. Looking back today, though I'm yet to get PPR or the coveted CoPR, I am grateful and thankful to God for everything. I especially found this platform helpful, as I saw first hand that I wasn't alone. It's almost 15 months after AOR, but I am certain it will end in praise. Finally, lessons I have learnt this period: 1. Do not put your life on hold, keep busy and focus on one day at a time. 2. Use the wait period to develop yourself. Find online courses, certification programs and personal development stuff you can do while you wait. Take professional exams if possible (COVID 19 in mind) 3. Look out for organisations or associations in Canada you can join especially in your field and take a membership if you can and if such exists in your field. 4. Find out all you need to know about living in Canada - schools for the children (if you're married and have children), cost of living, rent, location you intend to live in, schools you plan to attend and the programs. 5. Work on your resume to fit into the Canadian style. 6. Start to build network you'll find helpful when you eventually settle. I find LinkedIn especially helpful for me here. 7. Be grateful whatever stage you are knowing that "this too will pass" 8. Never be discouraged. Be positive and expectant. Where there is a will, there will always be a way. 9. Don't cut corners or look for short-cuts. Whatever you're trying to do, chances are someone someone has done it before. Find that someone and glean from their experience. Nairaland is particularly helpful here. 10. Avoid negativity. Stay away from people who are negative. Sometimes, it's best to ignore an insult and just walk past. Don't let low people drag you down to their level. Walk the higher way, show the light, be positive. Don't take life too serious and remember, everything happens for a purpose. I wish you all the very best and thanks again to the brains behind this platform. It will end in PRAISE! Stay safe! Stay blessed! |
Kekereekun123:Yes, you're right. We all need prayers and patience. Mine is already over 13 months: AOR was March 2019. Eligibility passed, only outstanding is security not started... |
ednut1:@ednut1, I really need clarity on this one: is it possible to do a remedial before the request is sent by IRCC? For those who have done so, is there any advantage in taking this "proactive" step versus waiting for a formal request from IRCC? Will appreciate clarification on this subject. Thank you all |
ednut1:Really? Can I do that? I'm going to be exactly 1 year post-AoR by 13th March, 2020. My medical expired 3rd March. I only got a GU last Monday and was thinking something will happen immediately. Thanks for the info. |
MJKJ:I got a Ghost Update on Monday. My AoR is March 2019. |
SunshineD1:This is good news! I pray this will be the beginning of a massive open door for us in Jesus Name. All those waiting for AVO, tap into this by faith and claim your PPRs. Before the end of this week, I pray there will be massive outflow of PPRs. Amen |
TrippleJJ:Na wa o. Is there anyone at all from AVO with something positive to share? I'm already 11 months post AoR. ![]() |
Stencil:Hmmm. Congrats dear. Looks like some AVO-related news. Waiting to read full gist. |
safex:Congrats. Siege....Sounds like good news from AVO... Please tell me its AVO. I've been waiting for about a year now too. ![]() |
Mariesio:I'm in Abidjan. When is it happening? Thanks |
Hi wonderful MVPs on nairaland, joining this group recently has been a breath of fresh air. At least I know I'm not alone on this journey and I'm also encouraged by others' stories. My AOR is March 2019 and visa office is AVO (Accra) . Its been over 10 months and still counting days... I recently requested GCMS and I noticed that both Security and Criminality are showing as "NOT STARTED " Everything else is ok, including eligibility passed. I've sent CSEs and got generic responses: "file on queue for review" Any advice on what else I can do? Thanks. |
Hello everyone, I'm pretty new on this platform and must confess I've found it very informative. Kudos to the admin and brain behind this initiative. Anyone with an update or any news emanating from Accra Visa Office? Has anybody received PPR from there lately? I called CIC today and they referred me back to AVO for specific details on my file. The CSEs and emails sent to them usually return a generic response "file in queue for review". My AoR was March 2019. Thanks |
