Kano Government has open up that the Increasing Deaths  situation in Kano State is very serious.

AUTHENTIC reported about the rising deaths in the state amid the COVID-19 pandemic but Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor, had said the reports on multiple deaths were blown out of proportion.

Kano government  acknowledged the recent deaths in the state, promising that the government is on top of the situation.

A statement by the Commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba, said the Governor Ganduje has already directed the state Ministry of Health to conduct a thorough investigation.

But in a statement on Sunday, Muhammad Garba, the state’s commissioner for information, said the government is working towards keeping residents safe.

He said the government has been commended from within and outside the state over the proactive measures it took check the spread of COVID-19.


“This explains why Kano, apart from being the most populace state, did not record a case of the pandemic until lately. Though we agree that the situation on hand currently is serious, we are not resting on our oars in taking appropriate measures to ensure that the good people of Kano state, and indeed, residents in the state protect themselves from the novel COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

“Moreso, the state government has three modern isolation centres where those tested positive to COVID-19 are being cared for. We are also hopeful of getting additional two isolation soonest. The government has also hired a hotel where suspected cases are accommodated.

“Also, Kano state government is collaborating with​ Bayero University Kano (BUK) to establish a testing centre within the institution, which will be ready in two weeks time after being certified by the NCDC. This will, indeed, enhance our determination to ensure that every suspected case undergo test.

Of a recent in this saga "Kano Deaths" is the death of a Professor of Mass Communication, Balarabe Maikaba.

Maikaba passed away on Sunday.

He was a staff member of Bayero University in Kano (BUK).

The burial of the deceased is ongoing in accordance with Islamic rites.

Meanwhile there is the fear of death currently rampaging the ancient city of Kano. News spread on Saturday that various prominent people died, some from the Coronavirus, others from an unknown disease

It should be noted that the state is currently on lockdown, imposed by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Mysterious Death reports has emerge in Nigeria Centre of Commerce Kano state ranging to fewer than 640 Deaths since last week.

Kano Deaths: People’s Democratic Party on a Press Release which Read thus said:

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded an immediate investigation into the disturbing mass death in Kano state, urging a Presidential visit to the state where no fewer than 640 citizens had reportedly died under mysterious circumstances in the last one week.

Apostle Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministry has revealed the Cure for  Coronavirus.

The Founder of Omega Fire Ministry OFM, Johnson Suleman stated this during an online broadcast via his church’s Facebook page on Saturday.

Suleman said those with the gift of divine healing need to be given permission, to visit isolation centres and heal people.

Apostle Johnson Suleman said Pastors with the gift of Healing like himself can Heal that is to say can cure the Coronavirus.

“Please (referring to the government) permit us to go and pray for COVID-19 patients. Allow us to go there (isolation centres), that is why there are men of God,” he said.

“If you are really anointed to pray for the sick, this is the time because what is holding the world is sickness. So, we’re begging the government to permit us into isolation centres, that is the only way we can reduce this nonsense because it will improve every day.

“There are people with the gift of healing, God has gifted them to pray for the sick. It is not fake, gimmick or arranged. It is there in them. Permit us so that we can prove there are prophets in Nigeria.”

As at Time of filing this report Saturday Night there were 1,095 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

There is still no approved vaccine for the virus.
