hardbody: Interesting how we all conveniently overlook 'the infection in the caesarian wound' which we are told is also part of the reason for her death. Calling a dog a bad name just to hang it. What guarantee is there that she would have survived with the blood transfusion? Doctors refusing to take responsibility for their carelessness and recklessness since ages The aspect of infection says a lot about the surgical instruments used as well as the state of atmosphere (air) in the theater room. The Sepsis says a lot about about the handling of treatment of the infection. Her refusal to have blood transfusion to me, is a distant factor. |

I would rather blame her death on infection that lead to sepsis than to blame it on her refusal to have blood transfusion. Sepsis in patients are always life threatening. |

Juliuseghe: @puntersmind- Since I started work in September 25th, I have not received my september stipend and I'm likely not to receive my October stipend because my employer didn't fill-in interns monthly reports for the two months. My employer only filled monthly time-sheet for both months. When I asked if he updated d monthly report form on d website, he said, he didn't knw he was suppose to fill d monthly report for interns. Pls what can my employer do inorder to update d monthly reports for sept and October or how can my employer get d monthly report of interns for both months accross to SURE-P so dat we can have our ( me n my colleaque) stipends paid? There is hardly any difference between time sheet and monthly report because both are joined together. Time sheet is on top while the space is provided below it for you or your employer to type what you learnt or the task you accomplished during that month. You may not actually count the September since you started very late while October stipend has not been paid. I started on the 23rd and I didn't get stipend for that month. Cheers. |

morewealth: @ puntersmind, my time sheet still shows the zero working days after all efforts by muy empoyer to revert it to 23 days. And my employer is saying he can't find the submit button that he can only see save time sheet. Please is there something wrong? Well, let your employer know that save button and submit button are not found in the same place/section. Save button is found under "timesheet/feedback" section. After saving what your employer has filled, he will then go to the homepage and refresh that homepage if possible. He should scroll down the homepage, and the Submit Button will be there waiting for him. If he has more than one intern, he should fill the timesheet for all of them before submitting it at once. |

marriedmum: So why did her husband test negative? Are you trying to tell me that a woman who gave birth 11months ago hasn't had anything to do with her husband even for at least the last five months? Think about it? Come up with your own theory on the possible cause of her HIV status and that of her baby based on the piece of information in the article. The husband tested negative, and that wouldn't be the first case of such. Besides that, it is even irrelevant whether they ccopulate after birth or not, as long as husband has tested negative which means husband wasn't the source of HIV. What is your point again? |

TBA (traditional birth attendant) was responsible, very clear. The woman tested HIV negative six months into her pregnancy. During delivery, TBA made incision to create more space for the baby to pass through. And in all sincerity, you can't say that TBA normally sterilize their equipment. So, the woman contracted HIV when that incision was made on her, and her baby contracted it through brea$tfeeding. |

An 11-month old infant was brought by the mother for a review. The mother had noticed that the child had not been eating well for a month. She said the boy had refused the usual cereal with milk, necessitating forced feeding. The baby was said to be active and fully immunised up to his age and had been growing well up till present. The male infant was examined thoroughly and found to be growing well, but his tongue and the inner parts of the mouth had a whitish patch which the mother said was the milk leftover after feeding. A mouth examination showed that the whitish patch on the tongue, the palates, the inner parts of the cheeks and on the throat were likely to have extended down the tract. This is a clear case of oral thrush, medically called oralcandidiasis. Other examination of the body part showed swellings under the baby’s armpits and cheeks, which made me to start thinking of possible HIV infection in the child . The mother and child were sent for several blood tests, which revealed that the infant was infected with HIV probably acquired from his mother at birth or during breastfeeding. The mother was advised at the post-test counselling to disclose the situation to her husband so that he could also be given attention if infected. The he man was brought to the hospital, and he was counselled before doing the HIV test. He tested negative and accused the wife of having extra- marital affairs. The woman and the child are currently receiving treatment in one of the public clinics in Lagos that cater to people living with HIV. The follow-up revealed that the couple has separated and the man has moved on. The woman was believed to have acquired the HIV infection from a traditional birth attendant where she had her baby. During the delivery, she had a vagina tear and her placenta did not come out at the right time. She had several concoctions put in her mouth and private part before the placenta separated. She said, “I did the HIV test when I was six months pregnant and it was negative. I later registered with a traditional birth attendant a month to my delivery on the insistence of my mother.” Link: http://www.punchng.com/health/healthwise/managing-oral-thrush/ |

phineas: On topics like this people ought to contribute responsibly.
In nigeria, this is a common scenario, mostly with the yoruba culture and amongst certain religious sect.
I blame the women for marrying such primitive men,I blame soceity and pple such as nairalnders that commented carelesly for its existence in present day soceity.
It used to be a sign of submission but it failed the prior generation. The men took the money enriched themselves abused their spouses seeing they had nowhere to go.
So a man and wife build a house with all the womans salary, and his relatives or his 2nd wife take over, remember she has no other "savings" hence totally dependent. Not just her her children too.
So in this day and age a man says to his working wife "bring all ur salary" in a culture that has no protective laws for its women and some folks come on here and say its submission? Its not submission its evil and theivery by a lazy man,men like that eventually find other places to validate their ego, they spend on other women who look at them as a rich provider...
I've seen and heard of a few like this, non ended with the man staying despite the woman agreeing to remit all her income.like it is with every bully, giving in never solves the problem, the demands just get worse as the woman looses all her respect completely.Don't these women respect themselves? To respect yourself means u carry yourself and treat urself in a manner deserving to be respected. women, learn from the prior generationn, look out for ur family, but look out for urselves too, have ur own egg nest.if not for u,for ur children.Ignore society,if you trust the man completely, fine but remember its your responsibilty to protect yourself and your children with your choices,be wise.choose well. Yoruba culture and some religion sects, really? Liar! |

lalasticlala: It's a common knowledge that most tailors in Nigeria often disappoint their customers.
I have been disappointed severally by different tailors. There was a case I nearly cried. LOL.
Anyway just recently, my tailor of about 6 years just disappointed me today. I gave him a material to make for me about 2 weeks ago. I told him we are to wear it as uniform for an occasion.
Actually, we are doing Youth Weekend in my church. All these while I haven't been participating actively in Youth programmes in my church. But this time around, I decided to be serious and take active part in this youth weekend, of course like 2 sisters in the church have been encouraging me to. I attended youth meetings in preparation for the D-day. I rehearsed with them. I learnt the songs we were supposed to sing this Sunday, the D-day. I was assigned to take the bible reading, and I accepted. Only for the tailor to disappoint me.
So I will be odd. I have taken it in good faith.
So please share your own bitter experience with your tailor(s).
Have you ever been disappointed by a tailor, and How did you react or feel when you encountered the disappointment? I remember a tailor that disappointed his customer about 3 years ago in Osogbo. He was taken to court by his client and court sentenced him to 3 months imprisonment. Though, I didn't read anything about fine as alternative to imprisonment. Not many of us know this, even we wouldn't need any lawyer to argue our case. |
