Do not conclude yet until you hear from her husband,a lot of factors could lead to Physical abuse.
She mentioned the husband ex-wife experienced same abuse, that alone is a red flag but most women often have the impression such can not happened to her.
Something is currently happening in my house I was so angry to hit my wife but I control my anger due to the promised I made with God never to hit my wife.....so a lot is happening based on infidelity and money issues in marriage.

I will advise you don't accept his visit anymore,when next he calls tell him you are not comfortable with the attitude he cheats on his loving wife rather you will never be parts of such relationship going forward.

If you don't say it now someday the bubble will Burst and you will be label all sorts of unprintable names.

Besides if anything otherwise happens God forbid you will pay dearly for it.
