Back to the topic. Nigeria started having this serious security challenges when the security personnels stopped patrolling all together.

Even in cities, when the military was in power, there's always patrol vans with security moving around to instill fear in the minds of miscreants and wrong doers. But with these money-hungry civilians in power; the security personnel's outfits became under-funded and less motivated to do effective job.

There used to be Highway patrol on federal roads. Where are they now?

The painful thing about Nigeria present situation is that this new government is distributing the consequences of the stealing and corruption of its tenure and former administration to the ordinary Nigerians despite the people not benefitting anything from it all.

Now everything has skyrocketed to very abnormal prices because they claim that Nigeria owes debt here and there. To be honest with ourselves: what are Nigerians enjoying from all the natural resources that God gave us for free? NOTHING.

If this is the best he can do then we chose the wrong person to lead us.

His best is not different from the worst expected by the people.

You can’t be campaigning for Yoruba nation with just a handful of people not up to 0.2% of the Yoruba population.

To achieve Yoruba nation, You could have approached it in 3 different fronts before involving the outside world.

1. Get your self elected into high political offices through the popular parties, perform well and garner more supporters to your cause underground. Move through the political landscape to the Federal legislature while sticking to your game-plan from the beginning.

2. Become a strong opposition politically to any government in power in Nigeria while using your machinery, social media and money to swarve people to your cause. Don't be like N. Kanu who is trying to fight Nigeria without politics, Dem go carry you for treason. Be an opposition in politics. If they come near you people will term it victimisation and dictatorship.

3. Wait for the right moment to fight in the open. Every government has its bad times. Let the people be in uproar about something that affects the Yoruba people adversely and directly e.g. Herdsmen or kidnapping. In the midst of the chaos, bring out the Yoruba nation agenda. And then, you'll be surprised how the people will be the ones fighting the government for the Yoruba nation.

Based on our history, the protest that evidently focused on the masses and achieved some sort of results relatively are during Adams Oshiomole's tenure as Labour Congress Head.

All other protests had been known to be politicised or high-jacked by hoodlums paid by the government we are protesting against.

Moreover, all organisers of protest have different agendas for participating. Immediately some are bribed or threatened with skeletons they hide in their cupboard, they leave the masses to their suffering.

And this had invariably happened so many times. Which made the common man to choose prayers and curses instead of taking action.

You'll find out that Labour is no more concerned with protest recently because of minimum wage increase. They left the rest of us who are self employed and unemployed to continue groaning with the biting hardship.
They forgot that since the hardship is growing day by day, it will soon gulp whatever % of increase they got. Then they will come back and seek for united and solidarity from the masses.

That's why people don't trust in protest anymore.

The only protest that can shock this government is an impromptu one, no organisers, no leaders, just everybody stopping everything when we are fed up. And that, can never happen.

The solution is with whoever is the president. To bring about the change, we must candidly elect a president who loves his country people more than himself or his status or pride. A president who will make policies that will make life more comfortable for even the poorest of his people.

For a first, most things we use and eat are imported. So let FG bring down import duties on imported items and imported food products to the same level as our neighbouring countries. Ours is very high; reason for smuggling.

Second, If Dangote, an individual can build a refinery, I still don't see the reason why FG cannot. Unless they just don't want to. So that the cabals headed by them can continue to siphon money.

I don't think increase in minimum wage is the solution anyway, because the increase actually gives the government more excuses and gut to increases the cost of every thing that is already high for the common man.

Now after the increment of minimum wage, taxes in every fold will start to increase. Fuel will continue to increase, tuition will increase, bank charges will increase etc, and at the end of the day, you find out that we are actually back to square 0.
