The only losers here are we the Edo people, we lost a chance to have a good governor in the person of Asue but instead the federal might installed a stooge. Being an outsider and a recent traveller between South West and the East. Even I, who is not from Edo will not vote for Obaseki or anybody associated with him because of just one thing.

Road is the least of what a governor can do for his people but my people roads in Edo is an eyesore.

It's so obvious. Just travel from Lagos to the East you will find out that immediately you get to Benin, the road is so bad that you will wish that rain does not meet you in the Edo stretch. And immediately you enter Asaba (Delta state) its visibly better from their to the Eastern part of the country.

You will blame yourself if you dare go through the Benin inner city like Ring road or Akpapava or Brewery area.

Imagine a Governor put up a sign post saying that this is a Federal government road, don't expect the state government to do anything about it. Chai!

I don't know who is worst between Obaseki and Eleyi of Ogun state.

Election boycott is a great way to start.
Read all the comments here, they seem not to understand that the political party they rooting for is in no way different from the one they loathe. The first step is to recognize this as fact. Then proceed to have no hand in bringing any of them to power.

I see your point, but my brother, that will not work. There has never been an election where nobody will show up and it cannot happen.

Check the population statistics of each state and compare with statistics of voters. You will see that many didn’t vote. Many boycott the elections yet whoever those that voted votes in controls everything.

If money still exists and takes centre staged in our livelihood, people cannot boycott election, because many are paid to support whoever they voted for.

Moreover , Nigerians cannot have one voice. We are divided along tribe, religion, money status and political affiliations. And to make .matters worse, these wicked politicians have weaponized poverty to enable them control our minds.

MAY GOD HELP US because I don't think we can come together to helps ourselves.

And how do you think we can do that? The masses have no power in this country setup. Even those voted into legislature to effect these changes are part of them. The parties are not the problems per se but their candidates all have their wicked agendas. I am sure even the APC didn’t know Tinubu will be this worse and wicked. If they had known, none of them would vote for him.

It's not really Nigerians fault anyway. Candidacy of these parties goes to the highest bidder and god-fatherism. Nobody cares about personality and antecedents anymore.

Independent candidates don't win elections in our part of the world. So whoever the popular parties throws up is who the members vote for even if they don't know anything about him or his hidden agendas. Even if that person is a serial killer, armed robber, drug pusher or even the devil himself, people will say he is the best because of his party.

I don't understand this uproar about APC or PDP or LP. All of them are birds of same feather wearing different colours.

They are all wicked people. Whoever wins is not the best for the masses but just next to chop money.

None of the 2023 governors from all the parties did anything to favour their states people. All na same.

Well, I got it wrong with Chabi especially last season. I bought into his theory of making players work for his 'system'. Reason we kept demanding that the necessary players be bought. Meanwhile, every other player were underperforming and unable to reach a physical best.

More experienced coaches like Hansi Flick has proven that you can get the best out of what you have. You don't necessarily need to have the best players in each of the positions. Just find what you have and squeeze the maximum out of them.

It is too early to tell how long this will go on with Flick, such that even Chabi himself was able to cope in his first season, hauling the team back from the 9th position and winning the league with an unprecedented number of 1 - 0 and then proceeding to collapse the next season, when the team begun to show there true color.
