But I observe that I can only browse sites, I can't
download, can't update my apps, mails don't
drop, some apps don't work etc. But if I switch to
the etisalat for data everything starts working.

So I called airtel's Customer Service , was told there is no restrictions from their end, that probably its the phone. To confirm, I remove the airtel sim and put in a friend's Android phone (Infinix hot note) and it was working perfectly, I am at a dilemma.
