Shayee35: Hello everyone.
I need help please! I submitted my study permit application October 4, did Biometrics October 9 or so.
In November I got notification to submit documents for the NSE stream which I did. I got a response from them Nov 30 saying that my documents are under review. My classes start 18 January 2021 and I am wondering the next step to take as I not received any update yet. I am considering these options and need your insights on the best option to take:
1. Go and do upfront medical. (I am on the IOM website and I can't even get a date up till March 1. Am I doing something wrong or are the dates really booked?!)
I don't know the Qlife website so I need guidance here.
2. Write the school to defer my resumption to May 2021. Is this too premature or I should wait a few more weeks?
I feel that since the NSE processing time is 20days, I should have gotten feedback by now. I know reality can be different but I can't wait around doing nothing when I have you guys to share your insights.
Thanks for reading, I value your contributions.
Have a great Sunday. To me ooo I feel you should defer cuz next week they are going on holidays unless you get response by Monday to Wednesday even when you get response the VFS office that processes passport submission might close that same next week or I don't know how they work so to be on a safer side just defer till May 2021 then send a mail to Q-Life with this email address canadamedicals@qlifefamilyclinic.com.They will reply with a date that March for IOM too far ooo maybe Q-Life should have a closer date.Thats my own suggestions other gurus can contribute their own suggestions. Please send the mail to Q-Life ASAP cuz their appointments too is getting tighter too. |

fratermathy: Goodluck to all TRV applicants on this new thread. I started with the previous thread from Nigeria and now I'm in Canada. May it be the same for you.
Remember that approval is not by how many things you submit or how excellent your application documents are. It's mostly a game of luck, who the VO is, "divine grace", and doing the right things. Always keep things simple if you can. Don't appear too desperate by overdoing things.
Before you ask questions, do a simple search on Google and add Nairaland to the end of the search query so that you can see if the question has been answered before. If you need further clarifications after that, you can then ask. Remember that nobody is mandated to answer any question here. We are all partners in progress, so don't feel angry if your question goes unanswered. Just ask again and do so politely. Before I became active here, I had read almost all the pages from parts 13-16. I also advise others to do same and by the time you're done, you would know so much about the entire process and could even be an agent if you want. Exactly you said it all bro.The bolded caught me though cuz reading through the testimonies here I can be convinced and authoritatively say it's beyond the VO it's just GOD and GRACE following the documents some people submitted I began to wonder this can only be GOD More testimonies to come in Jesus name. |

TeeMade: Hello awys,
I was able to renew my passport 14months to expiration in July this year cos I didn't want any complications around passport renewal matter.
The renewal was possible because of the newly introduced Nigerian Passport which allows you to migrate from the old to the new. I only paid extra 5k for migration fees. Since you have a link within, you should be able to pull it through.
I also have a strong link there so mine was done within few days, I picked up in about 2weeks from the date of applying cos I wasn't available to go for capturing on time. I don't know what the influx of applications will be like right now though, due to the fact that alot of people are planning to resume travelling again.
I think you can explore the migration option if you don't already have the new passport. Ask your contact about the migration thingy. If that doesnt work, I can share my link as a fellow October applicant that also encouraged me to submit my docs for NSE and back it up with prayers.
All the best, it will end in praise... Hello Teemade, Thank you so much I appreciate will reach you soon for the link.I appreciate you too God will help us all it will end in praise as well |

whizqueen: Quick update
If you’ve been waiting for your LOI and Counterfoil and yet to get it. Take your self down to Canada high commission in Lagos or abj they will ask for your passport number, email and tracking number (we didn’t provide this) if you like you can also write your application or UCI number.
Few minutes after leaving their office ‘do not reply’ email came in and we saw the document in the profile.
I sent several emails to all visa offices including this office since 3 weeks but they didn’t respond. By the way they also claim to close by 12pm, I wonder if it’s only on Fridays. Is it when you must have received your stamped passport back with your visa in it that you can go to the Canada high commission to effect the LOI and counterfoil |

Uzomachukwu: I was in this situation earlier this year. My old passport was to expire by Sept 2021, and my studies is to start this January. What did I do? I had to apply for the study permit with the old passport and then go to immigration headquarters Abuja to renew my passport. It too one month for the new passport to be issued.
Note that for a passport that has more than 6 months validity, the renewal can only be done in Abuja. And you must present a very valid reason for wanting to get a new passport. In my own case, I had to submit my National ID card, my old passport, my admission letter, with another letter explaining that I need a passport that has validity that exceeds my study period (4 years) in order to be issued up to five years of study visa. After submitting these things to my contact in the Abuja office, I was granted approval to come for capturing after two weeks. A week later, I received my passport via courier in Enugu. The cost was 40k.
If you don't want to go to Abuja JUST for a passport, then you can report it as a missing passport in one of the state immigration offices. But in this case, you'll have to obtain a police report, wait for few weeks for approval for a new passport, and then go for capturing at the state office. The bottom line: it will cost far too much to renew it in a state office (the police report alone is around 15k, I was told), and it will take longer, plus your new passport will still be of the old Nigerian passport format (only the national immigration headquarters issues the new/updated passport format, I was informed).
After obtaining the new passport, I had to send the data page via webform to IRCC which they acknowledged and added to my file. Hmmmm it seems my case is familiar eehhhh.Okay this is my own case.My program I applied for is starting May 2021 my passport expires June 16th 2021.I submitted my application on the 12th of October 2020 cuz I still have about 9months or so validity on my passport and couldn't renew.I plan renewing January 4th to start the process of renewing I have a family member in immigration passport office who can do a fast process for me as January will make it 6months to Expiry. My issue now is I don't know when IRCC will respond my medical was just updated to PASSED on the 16th of December, Eligibility review and NSE docs review started on the 10th of December fear don dey catch me eehhhh concerning this passport matter ehhh and I stay in Lagos can't travel to Abuja and don't have money for all this police report and co oooo abeg wetin I go do renew by January? |

Lekiboboe: U welcome, Ok
Hmmm, agent ,
Well I mean no disrespect, but an agent telling you not to mention your B.SC degree is very wrong. If you are giving false information to get a Visa, & it is detected, you can bebanned, and such sanction can be extended to other Countries Canada share information with in terms if Immigration.
Be very sure & certain he/she is a Licensed Canada Immigration Agent before you carry on totally with him/her, so u don't waste your time and resources
Cos there are lotz of Agents out there who are just bent on duping people of their hard earn money
To your question, Of course you av to.
To get a second degree (Masters or PG. Cert), it is highly mandatory of you to apply with your Transcript & Certificate of Highest (B.SC), cos that's what the Admission committee of any skool would dwell on to make a decision whether they gonna give you an admission or not.
Since u av a 2.1, u are good to go for an M.SC @Lekiboboe please I sent you a DM |

Mine is showing uploaded but not submitted to ircc and if I’m to go through with this scheme I need to pay another 150cad. I guess that’s why for some people even if they said 20 days it has exceeded Nd still no response You are not required to pay another $150 when you are submitting a new document through the portal it goes through the normal process of submitting as if you are submitting the first time just press continue it won't take you to the payment side rather a confirmation that do you want to submit your docs stop raising fears nothing go happen submit it please |

NuelOrji: Good day everyone. Please I need assistance concerning my Canada study permit application. I have submitted my application online on the 19th of November. Two days ago, I got a message from IRCC, saying that I am eligible for Nigerian Student Express. Please did I make any mistake in the course of my application? No you didn't make any mistake. The NSE is a New scheme newly introduced for Nigerians to expedite the Application process within 20days if you can submit the required documents as stated in the letter it's just like the scheme introduced for the Asians and indians the student direct stream the process is similar to that.If you can get the docs before the time they gave elapses fine and good it expidites the process according to them but if you can't you can sit out and wait for the time to elapse but your application will still be processed through the regular processing time so the choice is yours is not mandatory though and wouldn't affect your application if you cannot meet up with the time.Hope this helps |

OtunbaTee: hello sir/ma, I just want to know if you're deliberately asking these questions or you really want to do apply? I tire ooo me too that's the same question on my mind ooo these things are basic things on CIC website to get a first hand information from no one that's going to Canada that doesn't know what all these basic things are as they always say if you want to hide something from a black man put it in a book. All these basic things are on the website free of charge then when you not clear on the process you can come back and ask but asking basic things I feel it's like dragging back the process to square one.Its just my opinion though. |

letskeeptalking: Well yeah, of course getting an upfront medicals is no guarantee that the application will be approved.
However I seem to remember you mentioning you were waiting for your Medicals requests and I suggested you get an upfront, because that’s what I did. Then looking at your timeline and the time it took for the Medicals to be updated and the date of final decision, I was just wondering if you had done the Medicals immediately after application (like I did), if that would have affected the timing of your decision, approval or not.
But truth is, I got an upfront medicals almost two months ago and up till now, no decision. So I’m thinking it may not necessarily have any role to play on the timeline for processing the application.
Actually, I’m just asking to know what you think, so we can all learn from each other’s experiences. Upfront medicals expedite the process like jumping one process ahead but doesn't guarantee approval I can remember @adeenzo saying he submitted his application on the 7th of September 2020 and eligibility review started on the 8th of September 2020 so his eligibility review has been on for 2-3months until he went for UPFRONT MEDICAls in November which was updated to pass November 27 so maybe his study permit has been approved since but IRCC and their too much Applications hasn't requested for medical so he went ahead to do upfront medicals which fasten the process for him.Put this in mind no two Applications are the same and depending on the visa offices they work faster than each other some people submit application after one week it gets denied have seen where they reviewed an application on Friday and the person got denied on monday.and some people also gets approved within a month passing through all those processes different grace for different people relax and pray that's all you need now .It will surely end in praise as always |

You can do it that way let him go to the bank branch tomorrow and ask they will do it for him .It's ideal though you have some funds in the account and depending on the relationship between you and him like if he is your father it's a strong one then it can fly but have also seen where someone got approved using uncle as sponsor ooo don't get me wrong but then it's always better to be on a safer side and makes the Application strong if your sponsor is your father or mother that's what I think other gurus can add their opinions.it can work for you but people also get denied for the fact that they didn't put their own SOA like there is no financial status coming from the applicant itself and if the relationship is far again like inlaw etc they might raise an eye brow but all these depends on the VO assessing the Application and God some use it and get approved and some aren't lucky and gets denied based on financial status so it depends |
