Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has said he abandoned the use of bulletproof cars as an act of sympathy with the suffering masses who had no means of self protection from terrorists. He said that the action was also aimed at showing that the terrorists had no super natural powers. “We have to dare the terrorists; I have bulletproof cars, but I do not use them; I want to be exposed to the elements as the ordinary people do,” Shettima said. He said the bulletproof cars were only kept for the use of visitors who might be afraid to use ordinary cars. “We have so many bulletproof cars but we only use them for our guests.I thought this only happen in movie and social media like palmchat. Bulletproof cars for guess? “Sometimes I drive myself round the town to see things for myself,” Shettima said. He said that with the gradual return of peace in the state, government would unfold a developmental agenda in a few months time. “By the grace of God, we are poised for a great change. “Believe me, in the next couple of months, you will see changes in the fortunes of the people of the state,” Shettima said. He said that the recent successes recorded by the military against the Boko Haram terrorists, had made the state capital a safe haven for all Nigerians “Maiduguri is more secured than even Lagos or Abuja. “There are 2 million people living in Maiduguri; we celebrated Sallah without any incident,” Shettima said. He said that the government would take advantage of the Boko Haram crisis to ensure better welfare for the people. “This crisis has accorded us the opportunity to merge small settlements and provide better infrastructure to uplift the living standard of the people. “This is more especially for those living in remote communities,” Shettima said. |

Okon, was embarking on a long trip and decides his wife should wear steel underwear. He locks the underwear and gives the key to his bestfriend Akpos, saying "If i don't come back in 10 years, set her free." Okon was only 30 minutes into his journey when he sees a cloud of dust behind him. It was Akpos running after him. "What's wrong?" Okon asked. Akpos, still panting, says "You gave me the wrong key!" curled from palmjokes |

Lagos, Nigeria is a fun place to live in and many people that haven’t been to Lagos are panting to visit. Lagos is a hugely populated city, it’s the formal capital city of Nigeria. It’s known for its vibrancy and dynamics. Lagos never sleeps. Lagos is the economy nerve of Nigeria. It has the largest concentration of industries in West Africa, one of the reasons you see the high daily influx of people all over the world to the city One of the perennial problems of this city is the Traffic situation. The current governor ( Akinwumi Ambode) is doing his best to reduce this problem and make life more enjoying to Lagosians. The state has partnership with many social media like Twitter and Palmchat to deliver prompt and current traffic updates to the public and there is even a Radio station dedicated to traffic report in the state. To some people, the traffic is a blessing, a pastor once told me he prepares his sermons most time on the traffic and does lot more. For me personally I don’t like the Lagos traffic but I have learnt to maximize the time spent on traffic that should have been wasted. I did some of the work I can’t finish in the office on traffic, I use the time to pray and after all that I will listen to music. So my question is what are the things you do while on traffic |
The awesome fashion trend I am seeing on Palmchat this day is amazing.

AnnabelR0se:I wonder oo |
It could happen to any of us.Our phones are so precious that if we dropped one down a public toilet, we'd climb in to get it back. Wouldn't we? What did you say? You'd call a Task Rabbit? I once got my phone dropped inside the toilet while chatting on palmchat and trying to pick a call at the same time, so I believe it can happen to anybody. This wasn't the choice of 20-year-old Cato Berntsen Larsen. The Norwegian was in Drammen, southern Norway, when he participated in a drama. As Norway's VG News reports -- relying on the intrepid work of Drammens Tidende -- his friend's phone fell down a public toilet. Larsen, though, is svelte. He's also an amateur diver. So he volunteered to climb into the toilet to get it out. It didn't go well. This wasn't a fancy toilet with a u-bend, connected to the sewage system. It was a slightly more primitive affair, with a tank underneath the seat. Larsen got into it. The only snag was he couldn't get out. "It was disgusting as hell," he told VG News. "The worst thing I have ever experienced. Animals were down there too. I will never enter a toilet again. Now my body hurts." My own body hurts just contemplating Larsen's plight. You might think this tale smells a little. Larsen, though, insists he was up to his thighs in feces. He vomited. The toilet is only emptied once a year. He was stuck for an hour. Firefighters had to get him out. They had to cut the toilet open. Larsen was taken to Vestviken Hospital in Drammen. The hospital didn't respond to a request for comment. You, though, still have the most important question plaguing your system. Did he find the phone? Alas, after all that, he was not exactly flush with success. The BBC reports he did not find the handset I was just asking myself why will even try to enter a suckaway because my Iphone 6s fell inside ,is this how some people value their phones? |

Every product has an expiry date. In the good old days, if his Excellency, Mr Ayodele Fayose complains, the public hail the mouthpiece of the masses. His words are taken as if the oracle has spoken. He was prominent on social media, Facebook, Twitter, Palmchat etc. His actions are held in awe.But today, the table has turned. How time flies! My governor screamed this morning that he was placed under house arrest in PH during the botched PDP convention. But instead of pulling public sympathy as usual, he received an overdose of criticism. While many said it was the law of karma in play, many even dared calling him a liar. Haba. His aide,Mr Lere Olayinka, deserves an award though. He remains the most visible media aide any public servant has ever had in the history of this nation. For the architect of modern Ekiti, the tides have really changed. Cc @lalasticlala |
giles14:I don't think it's a crime for writing what I feel, it's my opinion |
"Recently I was telling a friend that Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Nigeria Info, Wazobia TV, Cool Link, Chocolate Royal etc, are all owned by an individual. The guy shouted that this couldn't be true! When I further told him that these companies were owned by a Lebanese, the guy almost punched my fine face (make I show myself small. Lolz). Most Nigerians currently feel like hanging Mr. President. Particularly, the importers, due to the dollar rise. I've been feeling the same way too, until I had an encounter with a Chinese guy, and I've since realised that i was just naive. This Chinese guy has a factory where he manufactures furniture here in Nigeria. One of his raw materials is wood, which he sources from Nigeria, because Nigerian wood is cheap and of the best quality. But he has to import other accessories. One of the amazing things he however does, since the rise of the dollar, is that the guy has been importing accessories, yet he has not increased the price of his products. How come? This guy has put his wife in charge of the factory, while he spends most of his time in Shagamu, Ogun State, buying timber and exporting to China. The money from the exported timber that was supposed to be transferred back to him here in Nigeria, is being used to buy the furniture accessories he uses for production. By so doing, he doesn't need to buy dollar. So he said: "Emmanuel, I don't have problem with dollar rising to N500...because I don't need it for anything." He said his Indian friend does the same thing with ginger export. While the only thing we Nigerians do is exporting our complaints on social media. So the Indians and the Chinese are busy coming up with strategies that have defied the dollar challenge, while we Nigerians are shouting 'dollar is high'. Well...here's food for thought o, my fellow Nigerians.Copied from a friend's post on palmchat |
