Hi NLanders, if you know or have any credible info that can lead to the arrest of this culprit, please help your compatriot. He came to my shop today asking if there's anywhere like a MoneyGram outlet where he can pick the $$ his bro sent to him. My wife doen't understand him, she thus referred him to my other branch where I was. He said banks pay him because he doesn't have a BVN, hence he's trying to see if MG has cash outlets like WU does in other country. I told him that he can't preform any transaction in Nigeria without BVN. Feeling dejected, he popped out his phone and asked if I'd please buy it to enable him travel back to his country today, claiming he desperately needs to return; a supposed iphone 12 pro max. I've never owned one in my life, he begged that since I'm here, I can resell the phone. he asked that I pay him 450k, I insisted that the highest I can afford is 400k ( expecting him to go). He pushed and pushed but later settled for 400, I called in my area aburo ( as he's the only iPhone user around me then) to check and confirm if it's an original phone (he uses iPhone 6). He claimed so, and we settled this guy. Thinking that he was sincerely in need, my friend offered to escort him to where he'd be able to get a vehicle to Lagos (from around Ojoo, Ibadan). I even asked my aburo to take down his number so as to ask about his welfare. The scammer gave a number which he said belongs to his brother ( the initial MG sender). When more experience iPhone users came around, they check and claimed otherwise. I decided to take it to the market and found out that it was all a scam gimmick! Please assist if there's a way you can. PS: my wife noticed that this man has lost his middle index finger ( that's a feature he can't change about himself). Please furnish us with credible info, Indians coming here to scam legitimate hustlers should be frowned at.

karryprincess:3-4 biz days, I think. |
Solitin40:Maybe when Jesus comes niyen. This is why I've been reluctant to apply for visa, I read application fee isn't refundable. |
Vincentosa:Check this sir/ma, seems border's still closed. https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/i-want-apply-visa |
karryprincess:About 3 biz days. |
Ericmanny:WU GP said the 3 days isn't for the money to arrive. You should initiate payment within 3 days of receiving the quote ni. I submitted form A on Wednesday, got $$ on Thursday, got debited on Friday. I think WU confirmed receipt on that same Friday. (I guess it was fast-tracked by my contact at Zenith.) |
Solitin40:Thanks boss. |
Hello gurus, I need some pieces of advice. I paid my tuition via WU globlapay, WU confirmed receipt and equally statted that they've forwarded payment to school. Medibank (OSHC) sent a mail to inform me of my policy (I paid through school) but school is yet to issue CoE. Is this normal? The policy certificate of my OSHC says it started on 21/01/2022 even when I've not applied for Visa? Does this mean the insurance is already active and rolling down? I'm an ECU applicant. With the continued ban on WA borders, my agent asked that we proceed with Visa application, is this in my interest or are they rushing me to commit simply for their own gain? Advise me please. |
karryprincess:I've paid too, using WU Globalpay |
karryprincess:I was billed at 419/$ at Zenith too but I'm curious how you paid using AUD on tradesystem.gov.ng. |
Samueltemi337:With due respect, did you see "annual" next to the fee? |
ahdahese:The last time I did this, AUD isn't listed among the payable currencies. Visit student.globalpay.wu.com and see if your school is listed, follow the instructions and print the invoice, take it to your bank and they'd take it up from there. |
Someone please talk about the new border closure news that the WA premier just extended indefinitely. It's implications for February as well as September intakes, please. |
WA don say dem no go open their borders, just when my Form A got approved. My present offer at ECU is for Feb 5, I intend getting a CoE, then request for deferral until Sept. Bosses, can this still work? |

gsalvatore:Edith Cowan Uni, Accounting, AUD11k+ |
Solitin40:Recently? The issue isn't the bank, it's the tradesystem.gov.ng portal. Can you help me ask the person what current they chose? |
abdurrazaq:The app seems to credit it's virtual card using BDC rate, did you pay using this rate?
|
Solitin40:Thanks, must I finish the MSc prog before I can change? |
Solitin40:The top-rank banker I know at Zenith asked me to message the school to issue another invoice quoted in USD, claiming that CBN will reject my form A application if I do the AUD to USD conversion myself. Has anyone paid since they started this tradesystem.gov.ng thing? |
cube2nerdy:I'll check my PC and see if the data size isn't beyond my affordability. |
Solitin40:Can one migrate using accounting and change later? |
Hi NLanders, I got to the bank today and I was told that the school has to quote my tuition in USD since the new tradesystem.gov.ng portal doesn't list AUD as part of payable foreign currencies. Please, has anyone made payment for this February intake? If yes, how did you go about it? Please help. |
