A man raped his 10-year-old niece to get back to his wife. After the incident, the man went back and told his wife about what he had done, however, the wife filed a complaint with the authorities only when the husband threatened to divorce her a few days later. The husband was tired of his wife’s nagging. He took his anger out on his 10-year-old neice. He went to his wife’s brother’s place and took the little girl to their terrace on some pretext. He gagged and raped her there, reveals The Times of India. His wife did not reveal the truth even after her husband gloated about it to her. It was only when he threatened to divorce her a few days later that she went to the police. The child’s parents also did not know anything about the incident. Medical reports confirmed that the girl had been sexually abused. The reports also revealed that the man had inflicted burn wounds in her private parts. http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/nagged-husband-rapes-niece-to-punish-wife/ |

It is pathetic that adults, who are striving for development of youths, have no scruple in trying to mortgage the future of the youths for pursuit of personal ego. |
Protesters from Ilowa, yesterday, stormed the premises of Osogbo High Court, protesting against the trial of their traditional ruler, Adebukola Alli, who is standing trial over a case of alleged rape of a 23-year- old ex-corps member, Miss Helen Okpara. The protesters, including school children, market women and men carried placards of various inscriptions and almost disrupted the court sitting as they chanted songs, eulogising the accused monarch. Students of Ifelodun Grammar School, Ilowa, led the protest and carried placards with inscriptions such as “This is War Against Ilowa People”, “Stop The Blackmail, Our Oba is a Decent Oba”, “Your Game- Plan Has Failed” in front of the court room. However, the trial Judge, Justice Oyejide Falola, did not allow the protest to derail court proceedings as he continued with the trial of the monarch. Counsel to the monarch, Mr. Taofeek Tewogbade, who applied for a no-case submission, said his client had sexual intercourse with Helen on his bed without the victim’s shoes, adding that the act took place in a serene atmosphere. However, a lawyer, who claimed to be a friend of the court, rose to fault Tewogbade’s defence and his action caused serious altercation among the lawyers in court. Tewogbade also informed the court that his client and the victim were like Romeo and Juliet when the going was good, and had been to the Osun Groove together on several occasions for reasons known to them. The monarch’s counsel said in his submission that “Helen had informed this court in her evidence that the accused monarch raped her nakedly but in the history of rape case in the world, there has never been a time an accused person was said to have raped his victim nakedly. It has never happened. ”I urge the court to take judicial notice of the fact that Miss Helen’s pant or bra was not torn during the alleged rape”. He added that: “No case submission may be properly made and upheld when there has been no evidence to prove the essential element in the alleged offence. ”When the evidence adduced by the prosecution has been so discredited as a result of cross-examination or is so manifestly unreliable no reasonable tribunal could safely convict on it.” However, the defence counsel, Mr. Dapo Adeniyi, opposed the application of no case submission, informing the court that the accused monarch is facing a four- count charge of rape, kidnapping, indecent assault and defamation of the ex- corps member. Adeniyi told the court that the victim was forcefully penetrated without her consent, adding that the accused monarch bruised her private part and raped her. He said the victim is in a state of trauma and distress owing to her ordeal in the hands of the accused monarch . Justice Falola, however, adjourned the case till May 21, for ruling on the no case submission. “The school children, who are supposed to be attending schools were brought to court and given placards in a case of rape allegedly committed against a youth corps member. http://vanguardngr.com/2012/05/alleged-rape-ilowa-residents-protest-in-court-over-monarchs-trial/ |
Sisi_Kill: The real question here is - WHY THE HELL IS PASTOR GIVING AWARDS TO ACTRESSES? Are they part of the church drama group?true talk |
The Pastor of Trinity House Church, Itua Ighodalo, and members of his church got much more than they had bargained for recently when the he decided to organise an award ceremony for Nollywodd actresses. Unfortunately, the three actresses who made it to his church - Eucharia Anunobi, Stephnora Okereke and Doris Simeon - have all had trouble in their marriages at different times. Sunday, April 15, 2012, thus became a dramatic one for members and guests at the Trinity House Church. We gathered from an online source that Pastor Itua "mistakenly" seized the opportunity to insult actresses with broken marriages, and he got an instant response from the no nonsense Eucharia Anunobi (now an Evangelist). According to the source, Pastor Itua, who wanted to give summary of the award initiatives before handing them over to the actresses, said that Nollywood marriages are breaking up everyday as a result of too much nudity in the industry and rituals in their movies. He was said to have dwelt too much on the issue of broken marriages in Nollywood that people felt that he was directly talking to the three actresses in his church . He allegedly stated that he wanted to redeem them from broken marriages and that was the reason of the award. The actresses were said to have told each other that Pastor Itua seems to have forgotten that his own marriage also broke and he had to even take a second wife who he is living with now, as he is not free from what he accused them to be doing. One of them was said to have told others that Pastor Itua himself was expelled from Redeemed Christian Church of God because he left his first wife to marry a second woman without any justifiable reason. After murmuring unbearably with each other, Eucharia Anunobi (the Evangelist) refused to keep quiet. When the time came for her to collect her award from the pulpit, Eucharia decided to voice out in defense and against the Pastor. She was said to have disclosed that she will like to correct the notion that it is only Nollywood marriages that are breaking up . She indicated that she knew marriages of people who are not stars that had broken, that she knew pastors whose marriages had broken as well as ordinary Nigerians. She was said to have asked the pastor, " How can you say that Nollywood marriages are breaking everyday? When you marry wrong wife, the marriage will break. When you marry the wrong man also, your marriage will break" . Speaking further she said, "Mine broke not because I wanted it to break. No sane person would marry hoping that the marriage would break. The records must be set straight and not give people wrong impressions about us because as I stand today, I am shining light and ambassador of God in the film industry". According to the source, anger was said to fill the faces of Trinity House Church members when their pastor derailed from his message and focused attention on Nollywood marriages, but they took to clapping when Eucharia was correcting their pastor. Immediately she finished her bitter remarks, Evangelist Eucharia Anunobi was said to have moved straight to the Pastor greeted him and left the church premises with other actresses without sitting down again.

A woman who was seen on CCTV kicking a boy in the head after he was fatally stabbed in a Tube station has been jailed for 12 years for the killing. Sofyen Belamouadden, 15, was stabbed nine times after being chased by a crowd of youths into Victoria Tube station in March 2010. Victoria Osoteku, 20, of Deptford, south London, was found guilty of manslaughter at the Old Bailey. Three teenagers have been detained for life for the murder. Judge Christopher Moss said Osoteku must share part of the responsibility for the death because she assisted in buying a set of knives during her lunch hour. Osoteku was one of 20 defendants from south London. She was the only female charged in connection with the incident and spent 19 days in the witness box. Heard ‘gloating’ Judge Moss ordered Osoteku, who was 18 at the time of the incident, be detained for eight years for conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm to run concurrently. A witness said she had been “gloating” about what happened the following day at her sixth-form college. Judge Moss added: “You were seen to deliver the final kick to Sofyen as you were the last of the group to run away.” Sofyen’s mother Naina Ghailan reacted angrily to the sentence. She said: “I’m disgusted. She’s got 12 years and she’ll only serve half. She’s an adult and she should have got life. She planned the whole thing.” Eight teenagers, all from south London, have been found guilty in connection with the death during a series of trials. (Clockwise from left) Adonis Akra, Enoch Amoah, Obi Nwokeh, Samsom Odegbune, Samuel Roberts, Tyrone Richards, Omoregie and Femi Oderinwale were sentenced on 20 April Obi Nwokeh, 19, Christopher Omoregie, 18, and Samsom Odegbune, 18, were convicted of murder. On 20 April they were ordered to life imprisonment with a minimum of 18 years, and eight years to run concurrently for conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm. Adonis Akra, 18, Samuel Roberts, 19, and Femi Oderinwale, 18, were found guilty of manslaughter and given 12 years detention each. Tyrone Richards, 17, and Enoch Amoah, 19, were convicted of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and sentenced to seven years detention. The “ferocious and merciless” attack was the end of a minor confrontation between pupils from two west London schools the day before in the fast food area of Victoria mainline station. Osoteku was one of the teenagers responsible for setting up the fight. The A-level student sent messages by phone and on Facebook arranging the clash between pupils from the rival schools. Machetes and screwdrivers Sofyen died after being chased by about 20 pupils across the Terminus Way concourse and into the London Underground station. Osoteku was behind a youth who led the charge with a Samurai sword. Other youths were armed with a flick knife and a Swiss army knife, machetes and screwdrivers. She denied the charges during a five-month trial and was found guilty in February. She said she did not kick the victim and sobbed: “I nudged him with my foot to see if he was OK.” Four youths, were sentenced on 14 October last year to two years’ detention after admitting violent disorder. Legal restrictions in identifying them have been lifted. They are Lewis Sinclair, 18 of Claribel Road, Stockwell; Olewale Olaribigbe, 18 of Portland Grove, Vauxhall; Selassie Ahiaku of Marcella Road, Stockwell and Melvin Mensah of Vauxhall Street, Kennington. http:// www.michaelokeje.com/2012/04/ nigerian-teeager-victoria- osoteku-bags.html

There is tension and confusion at Federal Psychiatric Hospital, Uselu, Edo state, southsouth Nigeria, following protest by members of staff of the hospital and mass protest by Uselu community chiefs and youths over the appointment of Dr. Sunday Olotu as Medical Director of the hospital. The protesters had called for the retention of Acting Medical Director of the health institution, Dr. O. C Ikeji as substantive Medical Director. Dr. Olotu had been appointed as substantive Medical Director of the hospital via a letter of appointment dated 26 March 2012 and signed by the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate. The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the staff of the hospital, however, kicked against the appointment of Dr. Olotu. It issued a notice on 2 April, 2012, signed by its Chairman, Comrade K. O. Oriakhi and five others, calling for a three-day warning strike. When we visited the hospital along New Lagos Road, Benin at about 9.00 am Tuesday, workers were seen discussing in groups, just as all doors to administrative buildings were all locked. Uselu community chiefs and youths had yesterday afternoon staged a march round town, calling for the retention of Dr. Ikeji as CMD of the hospital. They alleged that Dr. Ikeji had done so much to develop and stabilise the hospital and Uselu community. The Uselu chiefs threatened that should the federal government go ahead to announce Dr. Olotu as substantive CMD of the psychiatric hospital it would be tantamount to looking for their trouble, following which they will embark on a three-day warning strike after which they will open the gates leading to the wards and release the psychiatric patients into the streets of Benin. The Uselu community chiefs however made a U-turn this morning, saying that their previous stance was based on misinformation. A press statement issued and signed by the PRO of Uselu Psychiatric Hospital, Stewart Efe however described the activities of those behind the strike as “upsurge of dissidents and gangsterism.” “It may interest you to know that the appointment letter dated 26/3/2012 and signed by the Health Minister, Dr. Mohammad Ali Pate has been handed over to Dr. Sunny Osasu Olotu, thus confirming his appointment, which takes effect as from 20/3/2012,” the press statement said. When contacted, Dr. Olotu who spoke on phone from Abuja said that he was in Abuja with the Minister of State for Health with a view to resolving the crisis, which he said was uncalled for, just as he frowned at the activities of those agitating for Dr. Ikeji. “It is supposed to be a political appointment and not a labour matter, hence there was no reason why the union should engage in protest,” Dr. Olotu said. He, however, appealed for all to be calm, adding that the crisis would soon be resolved amicably. http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/ federal-psychiatric-hospital- uselu-workers-on-strike- threaten-to-release-lunatics/ |
