Abuja – Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Wednesday, described all Nigerians as corrupt.
According to him, corruption goes beyond stealing or embezzlement of public funds and includes attitudinal indiscipline.
He said corruption embraced the inability of people to restraint themselves from taking what does not belong to them which, he said, every Nigerian, one way or another, was guilty of.
He made the comment when he was accosted by journalists at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abuja, where he responded to questions on the last visit of the Governors’ Forum to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
Hear him: “We are looking at corruption in a global concept as against just taking money and, if you look at it generally, you will see that virtually Nigeria is very corrupt, virtually everybody, one way or the other, is corrupt either attitudinally, financially or socially and this, we believe, should be looked into.
“You see, we believe corruption is more than just taking money; I think it is attitudinal. It is anytime you do anything you are not supposed to do, that is corruption.
“And sometimes you can even enlarge it to mean, basically, indiscipline; inability to control yourself, to discipline yourself against the selfish tendencies of wanting to take what does not belong to you.
“Even not doing your job is corruption, for taking salaries monthly and not coming to work, and coming to work and being idle is corruption.” .
Ajimobi noted that the current economic crunch in Nigeria is not peculiar to the nation alone, but was a global issue and, thus, urged Nigerians not to panic.
“I think all over the world, there have been what you call technical recession,” he added.
This situation, he said, had affected government’s ability to meet her obligations like payment of salaries, contractual agreements, projects execution, among other issues.
The situation, he said, affected his state where, he said, his monthly commitments to governance outweigh the resources that had been coming into the purse of the state.
“Oyo State has an average of about N5.2billion monthly wage bill and I think our total income from the Federal Government Allocation is about N2.2billion from the Federal Government and there is no way we could meet our monthly wage bill.”
He said despite the harsh economic situation, the Federal Government, Oyo State government and, indeed, the government of APC, had agreed not to retrench any worker but would restructure to redirect the staff strength to be more effective.
He said: “In other climes, you should adjust your income and adjust your labour force, if you can’t pay everybody; then you should reduce them or you should reduce salaries, but because we are a government that believes in generating and creating employment we refused to do the most appropriate thing to do, so we now decided, instead of retrenching, to restructure.

I do not want to comment all this while because I don't have any vital information on ground.. but one thing is for sure and that is for all of you to ignore people talking about recruitment in nscdc.... replacement is what they'll still do. according to their calendar on replacement exercise the next is june/july, 2016.......... besides, the issue of budget implementation would have had itself finally sorted out before then..... HOPE ON GOD THOUGH... It's well.

Inec never said the result sheets were fake. I listened to the program too. The real fake pple are those of u who swallow whatever you hear hook, line and sinker.
What inec said was that the error was noticed as soon as the package was opened. Thereafter, inec called all the party agents together for a meeting on the ommission brouhaha. They all agreed to go ahead with the election at that point. Only for the pdp to turn around and cry fake materials. Tell the pdp to present a sample of the so called fake materials let's see. You said inec initially denied that it was not fake. How fake can u be. How can they claim responsibility for a non existent lie. How can inec say there were fake result sheets when they already called a meeting on same issue. Even in you write up you did admit that inec called a meeting only to twist the story at the end to justify your fake title.lazy bloggers everywhere.

It baffles me why our graduates like to waste their precious time. Why is it that people don't struggle to set up a business or a system that can give them a lot of money. Listen my brother formal education will give you a cheque while self education will earn you a fortune. Stop wasting your time, not even for a job you can be sacked at any time. There are numerous opportunities out there that can make you rich and certainly its not paid employment. So please my dear brothers and sisters think beyond this contract job. One problem I know majority of our youth face today is this "quick rich" thing. Believe me if you can think very well you will understand that its only a matter of time, you will say thank God you were not given any employment letter because most of the jobs out there are total slavery. I have ideas that can make you rich. Feel free to ask me. All of us can do better than this please. I look forward to a day banks will start begging people to work for them. This is possible if only we could think outside the box.

Why cant our security tell logical story? It is obvious those kids know nothing about the content of what they were given, they were probably told that it was just some metal scraps!
It is obvious that the almajiri mentality and the #2500 gift motivated the kids to collect the package!
It is obvious that kids got tired of carrying "pieces of useless metals" over long distances and hence they decided to sell it (afterall its just a scrap!) and make more money!
The almajiri boys have been selling scraps before and hence they some idea about the cost of scraps, therefore there will be some hard and long bargaining with the scrap dealer!
During the long bargaining session, the bomb fuse started burning and before you know it, KABOOOM!
Arresting/maltreating the kids or the scrap dealer will lead to nowhere and they obviously have no usefull information about the bomb.
