I don't even know but I think Gionee is a better phone producer than others. Just that Tecno is so popular here in Nigeria, Can you imagine how people dey rush am ni. Reviews of some Tecno phones is here - http://www.stevenbergy.com.ng/2013/06/list-of-tecno-android-phones-with-their.html |
The year 2013 is already running out and its a great year in the Mobile Tech world because we've already seen so many Smartphones, Phablets and Tablets released. We've seen HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, Nexus 5, Sony Xperia Z and so many other smart devices. But what do you think next year 2014 have for us ? Smarter devices, right ? One of the Smarter devices we are expecting is the Samsung Galaxy S5 which will be released in the next few months, I cant wait to see this #SmartBeast. Although, Samsung Galaxy S5 is not yet here but there is already a good number of rumors, leaks and indications, all of which can be used to get an image of the Galaxy S5. We've already come across so many leaks dealing with the Galaxy S5's release date, as well as some of its technical characteristics, such as its supposed screen size, CPU, camera and more. I'm sure you'll also want to peep at the Samsung Galaxy S5 before it really go official next year. Thanks to PhoneArena for providing a clear insight on the Galaxy S5. Features, Specs, Price and Release Date of Samsung Galaxy S5 1. Galaxy S5 may have a 5"+ display with 2560 x 1440 resolution Samsung's AMOLED technology is loved by some, and despised by others but there is no doubt that the Galaxy S5 will also feature an AMOLED screen. However, some unofficial sources claim that this time around we may even see a bigger screen than the 5" seen on the Galaxy S4. Some claim it's going to be a 5.3" display, others don't provide exact numbers, but we are undoubtedly expecting a bigger screen. 2. Galaxy S5 may feature a new 64-bit Exynos chipset Rumor has it that Samsung is gearing up to equip the Galaxy S5 with a brand new version of Exynos - one that features a 64-bit architecture. Other sources however, think that Samsung will once again choose to out two versions of Galaxy S5 - one with the Exynos 64-bit and one with the Snapdragon 805 which is Qualcomm's latest and greatest chipset. In any case, I'm very sure the Galaxy S5 is going to be a Beast. 3. Samsung Galaxy S5 may feature 4GB of RAM With Smartphones producers like Gionee stepping up with much more better and multitask-handling RAM on their new devices. Samsung is said to equip the Galaxy S5 with 4GB of RAM. However, some claims that the Galaxy S5 is going to have 3GB of RAM instead. By the looks of it, both theories may turn out to be correct. For example, if there are two versions of the Galaxy S5, the one with the Exynos 64-bit chipset may have 4 GB RAM, while the Snapdragon 805 one may sport 3 gigs. That gives buyers options to choose from but don't expect the price to be the same if it goes out this way. 4. A Stunning 16 MP camera with OIS The Galaxy S4's 13 MP camera is still among the very best Cam so far, but it's already starting to feel inferior to some of the new releases. Of course, Samsung will be looking to step up with a new sensor, and by the looks of it, it's going to be a 16 MP camera with optical image stabilization. It will look so real !!! 5. Galaxy S5 may sport a fingerprint sensor Well, the iPhone 5s has it, so it won't make any sense if Samsung fail to add a fingerprint sensor to their 2014 Smartphone because so many 2013 Smartphones already have it. Although it's not clear yet if the fingerprint sensor they are going to go for will be of the swipe type (as in the HTC One max), or of the touch type (as in the iPhone 5s). But lets just wait and see what they have been planning behind the scene. 6. Galaxy S5... Plastic or Metal ? One of the wildest rumors we've heard about the Galaxy S5 is that it may come with two different designs - one made of plastic, and one made of metal. It sure sounds crazy, but as far as Samsung is concerned, so many things are possible. 7. Galaxy S5 with Samsung Conference video call ? We don't have much information about Samsung's TouchWiz user interface right now but we surely hope that a major redesign is going on. Still, we heard about one of the new software features that the Galaxy S5 is going to introduce - conference video calls! Not that you can't achieve conference video calling with a third-party service like Google's Hangouts app but Samsung just like having their own unique feature so that they'll be able to make more money from the device. 8. Galaxy S5 will be released earlier next year Samsung isn't very happy with the Galaxy S4's current performance on the market, which is why it'll be looking to release its successor earlier than usual. Usually, the Galaxy S smartphones get released in the month of April - May, but this time around, Samsung is said to be pulling the launch earlier, to February or March 2014. 9. How much will the Samsung Galaxy S5 cost ? When it comes to price, there isn't any information yet but according to PhoneArena's explanatory guess, an unlocked Galaxy S5 will probably be offered at a price range of €600 to €700. I really cant wait to see this device next year but seriously, I'm anxious to see what Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony, Apple and other Smartphones producers have for us next year. What do you think about Samsung's S5 ? Do you also have any official or even unofficial update on the device ? RIP Nelson 'Madiba' Mandela... He truly deserves to be remembered in a great way like this. His name should be listed among the Planet Earth's Hall of Fame with the likes of Martin Luther King Jnr, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, John Kennedy etc... |
It is sometimes difficult for many of us to go out on the street, buy recharge cards, scratch it, load it on our phone and then subscribe to a data plan most especially if we find ourselves in places where Recharge cards cannot be seen easily. Because of inconveniences like this, Quickteller has launched a new and convenient way to renew and buy new data plans on your MTN SIM, be it the MTN BlackBerry data plan or other mobile and PC data plan. With the help of Quickteller.com, an internet-connected PC and your ATM card or your GTB Naira MasterCard. You can now easily subscribe to ANY of the MTN Data plans conveniently, isn't that cool ? Yes It is, but how do you go about it ? Follow the procedures summarized below and in just few minutes, you will be able to subscribe to any of the data plans MTN Nigeria is offering. Activation - MTN BlackBerry Plans 1. Visit Quickteller.com by clicking here: https://www.quickteller.com/mtnvtuplusblackberry 2. Select the BB plan you want and click “Pay” 3. Now Enter your phone number and click on "Next" 4. Confirm Amount and click “Pay” 5. Choose your payment option to complete payment. Activation - MTN Data Plans (Other devices) 1. Visit Quickteller.com by clicking here: https://www.quickteller.com/mtnvtuplusdataplan 2. Select the data plan you want and click “Pay” 3. Enter your phone number and click on "Next" 4. Confirm Amount and click “Pay” 5. Choose your payment option to complete payment. Note that your data plan is automatically renewed as soon as payment has been made. Left to some, this new MTN Data plan subscription method via Quickteller doesn't really make sense because buying recharge card and subscribing normally doesn't cost them anything while to some, its their most preferred way to subscribe to their favourite data plans on MTN. What do you think ? Do you prefer doing it this way or the other way round ? SOURCE - http://www.stevenbergy.com.ng/2013/12/renew-your-mtn-blackberry-other-device.html

htconeline: what so special about dis kit katNot that, Android 4.4 has so many new & updated features especially if you buy a device originally released with it like Nexus 5 Enhancement on the Multi-Tasking Multi-tasking is essential on every smartphones or tablets and Android 4.4 KitKat takes the system performance to its optimal. Android 4.4 optimises memory usage for several apps running and made the touch screen responds faster and more accurate. However, Google noted that capable hardware components may be needed such as in Nexus 5 to get maximum benefits. Google Apps Full Integration Google made Drive, Keep and QuickOffice native apps on Android 4.4 KitKat which integrates to one another. Drive allows you to save files on Google's cloud-based storage, Keep acts a notepad on your device while QuickOffice can open, edit or create Microsoft Office documents, spreadsheets and presentations. In addition, Hangouts is now integrated to serve as SMS/MMS and Google+ chat client. Downloads app has been redesigned with more options and Email app client gets the same gestures and UI of Gmail app. More Wireless Services In addition to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and mobile data support, Android 4.4 allows Cloud Print and Tap to Pay features. Cloud Print is compatible among HP printers or printers with Google Play Store apps for cloud printing while Tap to Pay uses wireless technology to make payment for services. |
CHIMCO: What of Gionee produts esp E3?Haven't heard anything about E3 OTA update yet. Not all devices will get the update, it depends on the manufacturer... |
banjicom: Dis is nonsense!!!!You didn't get the real KitKat cuz Samsung didn't release Galaxy S2 among the OTA devices for KitKat yet, you only upgraded your S2 to an Android 4.4 KiTkat based OmniROM (although looks alike but not the same). Just like the one here - http://www.droidviews.com/omnirom-now-available-for-19-android-devices-how-to-install/ |
Derealme: Thanks a million man!Welcome Bro |
DK Jaleel: that list is crap...no Tecno..So, you expect to see Tecno here ? As far as i know now, They don't have OTA updates unless you wanna have a custom ROM on your Tecno. |
cjudy: Fake news. Even HTC sensation has been upgraded to 4.4. goto xda forum and see what wizards are doingThe Link to the update of HTC Sensation running Android 4.4 will be appreciated... If you have one. This list is the official list from the Smartphone manufacturers themselves, see it here - http://www.phonearena.com/news/When-will-my-phone-get-the-Android-4.4-KitKat-update-here-is-what-we-know_id48960 and also note that there is difference in OTA update. When you upgrade via OTA on your phone, you are safe because its easily installed with data while installing the CyanogenMod 11 or other custom ROMS could brick your device completely. --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524961 The ROMs in XDAForum are Custom ROMS, being tweaked & optimized with the features of KitKat and most of them are even under Beta, making so many features not working e.g Wireless, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode etc after being rolled to the devices. Not even devices as old as Sensation which originally runs Android 2.3 but upgradeable to Android 4.0. |
In the month of October 2013; 31st of October 2013 to be precise. Google announced the latest version of Android OS - Android 4.4 KitKat and it is a big update to the world’s most used mobile Operating System. Apart from the Google Nexus 5 that has KitKat 4.4 originally installed on it, there are so many other devices too that will be getting Android 4.4 KitKat via OTA (Over-The-Air) update. You don't have to worry about your RAM, doubting if KitKat will work smoothly on your device because Google claimed that huge optimizations has been made to the platform and its core apps so that even devices with 512MB of RAM can have a good, smooth Android experience [the majority of Androids across the world are actually low-end devices with 512MB of RAM]. Lately, Everyone using the Airtel BlackBerry Plan to browse on Android Devices, PCs and other Non-BB devices have been expecting Airtel to stop the plan from working on ALL devices except BlackBerry Phones on the 3rd of December, 2013. Some Airtel users claimed to receive a message from Airtel stating that, here is how the message looks like - “Dear Customer, effective 3rd Dec 2013 AIRTEL BB Plans will cease to function on non BB devices or used as a modem . Thank you”. Did you also received any message like this ? Well, I didn't receive any message like that despite the fact that I've been using the plan for a while and still using it on my Android Phone and PC. At the moment of publishing this post [December 04, 2013 - 01:50am] , I'm still using the Airtel BB Plan on my Android Phone and PC. Although, some people on Nairaland -> https://www.nairaland.com/1537635/airtel-bis-stop-working-non / https://www.nairaland.com/1540411/airtel-users-android-been-blocked and some other Online Naija Forum said it is no longer working on their Android phones and PC while some also said it is still working on theirs. But to be sincere, these are the things I noticed which may be a sign that the Airtel BB Plan should still work or should not work on your Non-BB devices -> 1. I noticed that those that didn't receive the message quoted above are likely to still be able to use their Airtel BlackBerry Subscription on other devices. I didn't receive the message and I'm still using it, some other friends on Nairaland here who didn't receive the message also claims to be using it after the December 03, 2013 it was allegedly said to be stopped. 2. I noticed that the Airtel BB Plan was very slow that it couldn't even open the lightest webpage since few days ago especially last night which makes it so difficult to use on PC, maybe this is a sign that something is going on with the BB plan from Airtel's side. I was fortunate to correct this issue by recharging #100 on my Airtel SIM and I subscribed to the Airtel Daily plan of 10MB by dialing *141*11*1#. After subscribing, the one-day 10MB was added to my remaining BlackBerry Data of 2.7GB and It started working again. 3. According to some posts on Nairaland, some Airtel Users claim to just subscribe to the Airtel BB Plan yesterday [December 03, 2013] and it was successful, but if its really true that Airtel is ceasing the plan from working on Non-BB device. I think the new subscribers shouldn't be able to activate it using Non-BB devices not to talk of even working on them or what do you think ? Conclusion If you have problem using your Airtel BB Plan, check if your Data Balance is accessible by dialing *141*712*0# or *123*10#. If you can see that you have an active data on the Airtel BB, you can just try doing what I did in the 2nd part of the list above maybe it will also work for you. If you are just trying to subscribe to the Airtel BB Plan and want to use it on Non-BB devices, Follow this tutorial -> How to Activate the Airtel BlackBerry Plan to work on any device --> http://www.stevenbergy.com.ng/2013/07/how-to-activate-airtel-blackberry-to-work-on-any-device.html . If your Airtel BB Plan is still active and you're still using it on Non-BB devices then keep enjoying it. Sooner or Later, If Airtel finally blocks their BlackBerry Plan from working on other devices; I know we'll sure find another way out. Do you have any other suggestion or Contribution about the Airtel BB Plan issue ? Is it still working on your Android Device and PC or not ?
