Just called +23412790000 now and I went straight to the point: I was told successful candidates will be contacted soon. I asked how soon and he repplied 'soonest'. I pressed further: can I take that as a media answer, sir? B/c there has been a lot of confusion in the air concerning the PIGB, that it's directly affecting the 2016 recruitment? He said, "no it's not." When I pressed further, hae ended with, "soon can be anytime from now." Hmmmm...I don't know... Don't know, but like I said, GOD can do it again! Shalom!!!!! |

kristion: I am EH and I uploaded my Postgrad Degree when we were asked to update our profile. During the interview I was asked for professional membership (the panelist specifically asked for ACCA, ADA or ICAN) and Postgrad qualifications. I do not have any of the mentioned Professional membership but luckily for me, I have my MSc in Oil and Gas Business and the head of the interview panel looked at the other panelist and said that will do. I deduce therefore that for EH, Postgrad Degree and Professional membership are determining criteria for success. I left the interview very happy that day. Not so for GT o! As a GT, you can't upload anything other than Bachelor's degree but yet they were asking for 2nd degree. |

Just thinking aloud though, I still can't phantom out why they (DPR) didn't allow any upload of postgraduate qualifications even during the call for update of info on the portal but asked for same during the interview. Can someone help with the explanation of the logic behind this? Were they really sincere or it was another trap for disqualification? |

hammer2010: It's really annoying and irritating isn't it?
Anyways just know this, no one here, no matter how highly connected they may claim to be, can predict with exactitude, when the calls would start going out. The most these "sources" could do is give an informed prediction #fact
Like i've told some peeps, be open minded. The moment you fix your mind on any speculated date/time frame here, you might end up loosing it, and literally so
So buddies, be like hammer. I have told myself that come what may, they must start calling before the end of the year End of the year?Pls we should stop this joke....and keep praying. It's not all about the waiting. We all know that the longer this list stays in their hand, the worst the odds against the common hopefuls. Ordinarily it shouldn't take this long for a computerized recruitment process. ...all the same, no shaking! GOD is in control !! |

neverdown998: This is the first time I'll be commenting on this thread since 2016. I've read genuine updates and several fake ones, however this is the state of the recruitment.
1. The names have not been sent to FCC. 2. Aptitude test scores and interview scores have been compiled but sorting is still in progress. 3. This recruitment will favour candidates that did well (Merit) 4. The aggregate of the appitutde and interview scores will sum up your final score and will determine if you're fit for dpr or not. 5. During the interview, the interviewers made remarks and they have specified if you are fit for dpr or not. 6. The interviewers smiled at everyone, so don't think their nice gestures is a ticket to dpr, they have studied you and have written down their observations (the comments are also determinants) 7. I'll advise you to stop taking drugs etc for now (Medical test is another way to drop applicants) 8. Total number interviewed was around 3,800 9. Some applicants will low appitutde scores were also called for interview 10. Letters will roll in before march 11. Pray, Just pray and hope. 12. Cheers Info appreciated! It is typical and sort of widely employed standard in HR that 12% of applicants move to interview, 17% of total interviewed move to offer stage and 89% acceptance of offer. If same is adhered to by DPR in this recruitment, then about 31,600 took the test, 3,800 were interviewed and 646 APLs to be prepared in expectation of 574 acceptance. Just trying to marry some points for some deductive inference though; not in any way implying the rightness or wrongness of this info. |

Wizgrandpa: So a lot of people have been sending me PMs with regards the nature of questions. But I can't tell you directly what the questions are about because some got questions related to their fields while some got random general knowledge questions. Just do well to prepare yourselves because even people who applied for the same position may not get the same questions because i observed that the panel has a variety of questions to select from. For those yet to do theirs, just pray that the question that comes your way is favorable. Guy, it would be stupidity to tell anybody a direct question but I think there's nothing wrong with pointing someone to a direction or two. Trust me I almost lost my hope in this DPR job when I saw the rate people were pasting live aptitude test questions on here after the first 3 days of the test and I happen to write mine on the first day but by grace, I was called. Palaver:
Where do you guys crawl out from sef? You are already assuming and wishing other's wont scale through.....and you want them to help you by sharing study materials with you. You dey even quote Scriptures to support your warped mindset Abeg, laff wan kill me. If the other group (that didnt receive sms) are thinking like you, then you also dont stand a chance to them. Hence, no need to share materials with you. Ogbeni, wait till invites start flooding in. You may eventually not need the material you seek. It may be those that you think wont make it that will even be needing the material or study guide.
@the bolded: Na you disqualify the others? into this race......;D Till we hear from DPR, every applicant who wrote the aptitude test are still very much in "this race". Mark my words and quote me soon again. Why are people overly and unnecessarily sentimental!!! Please, I have a zero intention to abuse you please, but read my post again keep your mind faster than your mouth. I said going by outcomes from similar previous instances, it is likely.................Meanwhile, did I even say I got the update mail/message? You think those DPR guys don't have handwork to have asked candidates that didn't make the cut-off mark to update their profiles? Like someone pointed out earlier its been like a year since this applications were made, some people might have acquired additional qualifications/skills and so, the need for the update and again, if the update was general then it wouldn't have been to few, it is also possible that it is being sent to only those with incomplete data/record; we just can't tell; but I know by experience that those that got this update notification are likely moving to the next stage so, starting preparation should be more beneficial than wallowing in argument. So, you too, Mark my words and quote me soon again. Cos it seems you just wanted another attack to disorganize this thread again but you will not have me cos this is my last reply on this subject matter!! |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Department Of Petroleum Resources - 2016 Graduate Trainee &experienced Hire Job by Azijo: 8:40pm On Oct 27, 2017 |
At this point, I think sharing information about the next stage will be more beneficial.
Anyone with useful information or links to useful material/guide for the next stage is encouraged to help here, please. Its of the truth that arguing about open or closed portal wouldn't change anything as it is normal, by experience, to deduce that it is likely those that got the notification for the update that would eventually move to the next stage; going by inference and experience with similar previous instances. As for those that got this update mails and messages, remember, "the race is not of him that runeth, neither of him that willeth but of the Lord that showeth mercy..." And that you didn't get this notification, does not imply that you are not good nor that God has forsaken you...He has even better plans for you. Also, remember that patience is painful, that is why it is a virtue and He is faithful and careful not to take it nor those that demonstrate it for granted.
Contribute your efforts to support and see through, those into this race at this time; for you will someday come to this river and I see a very present help awaiting to take you across, for a testimony.
Thank u all! |

Glum: With previous cases of the portal being closed, they got a mail from DPR saying that they didn't qualify.. But no mail yet.. So I guess it's to wait patiently I didn't get you... Do you mean those that could not login to the portal again (portal closed) later got an email informing them of not being qualified? Cos from the look of things, its likely that those that got this update stuff are likely being considered for the next shortlist |
