Nigeria CANNOT curb Kidnapping without

*"Random" Checkpoints in addition to Proper Intel.
Random because most Nigerian Checkpoints are predictable as to time and location so Criminals know where and when to avoid them.

*Checkpoints MUST ring the interland and Most importantly, the Exit points of each City.

These Checkpoints must be Manned by Highly Specialized teams .

*Also, VETTED Nigerians must be given Permits to carry Firearms.

They must go through rigorous Trainings about the use and responsibilities of firearm ownership.

*Criminals are having a FIELD day because there are virtually NO RESISTANCE.......No Checkpoints and No "fire for Fire" oppositions. How can Armed Robbers rob a Community for HOURS without Resistance??

This way they figured that their Victims are cooperating with Police which is sacrosanct to their "Profession".

I have said this Before. You can only Curb Kidnapping by:

*Ringing ALL the exit points in Abuja with a Specially-trained Anti Kidnapping team.

*They will be trained in Visual inspection and Body language.

* Their only role is to visually check occupants and boots of cars and apprehension of Perps if identified as Kidnappers based on Solid findings

*Have "Mobile" Units mount "Mobile" Checkpoints within the interior of the City,making it difficult for Perps to know where the Mobile Unit's Checkpoints are at ANY time. This is necessary because most naija Checkpoints are predictable as to time and location so Kidnappers know where to avoid the Checkpoints.

* Mobile Teams must have sophisticated communications Between Units at exit points and Interior Units for Triangulation and Quick apprehension of "Run-away" Kidnappers.

* The Special Team must not ask any stupid questions as regards Particulars of cars etc. This way Bribery is curbed and traffic jam is avoided.

* Another Covert "Special" Unit should MONITOR the activities of this other Special Unit for Transparency purpose.

* This should be a Pilot program and if successful in Abuja, must be replicated in other Cities promptly.

**** Kidnapping will never stop in Nigeria WITHOUT Checkpoints (this is Nigeria) and Proper Intel from Citizens and All Security Organizations in Nigeria.

You're far off man. Checkpoints have nothing to do with the security threat posed by Fulani bandits.

These bastards emerge from the surrounding bushes or valleys, swoop on travellers or residents, and shepherd them, ON FOOT, back into the bushes. I don't know what checkpoints have to to with this.

I am talking about KIDNAPPING.

Kidnapping is mostly carried out by organized groups of Criminals from ALL Ethnicities.

MOBILE Checkpoints all around Abuja interior and mostly Abuja exit points.

It should be mobile, that way Kidnappers won't know where the Checkpoints will be at ANY time.

Also the ONLY duty of the Special teams is visual Check of occupants in the car and Boot inspection.

They must be trained in Visual inspection and body language.



They mustn't ask for no Particulars so as not to use it for Bribe purpose or cause traffic jams.

There must be another Covert group that will monitor the activities of this Special Kidnapping team.

Nigeria CANNOT win the Kidnapping war WITHOUT Checkpoints......PERIOD.
