doctokwus: I know mine might be a minority opinion, but this is a rich diversity that has just been killed. If this snake had been caught alive or even tracked and studied,it would have fetched 100x the amount it was sold for. In other places, rare sizes of snakes like this would be a subject of wide interest and studies by snake experts who would even come from far and wide, earning us much needed foreign exchange. But here,it has ended in somebody's pot of soup and a mere N10k when it cud have fetched good dollars. You wouldn't have said that if this snake had killed any of your loved ones. Any animal that can EASILY kill a human should be destroyed IMMEDIATELY. At least abroad they have antivenom and immediate evacuation. In Naija, you are on your own o. |

hedonistic: You don't sound particularly intelligent. "I have never seen stealing from every corner like this"? Which stealing did you see other than stupid, unsubstantiated allegations in the media? Is that not what rational people have been cautioning against? On the basis of these unfounded allegations, you have already made up your mind even before a court trial, let alone a conviction. That is the hallmark of an unthinking being - a trait associated with lesser animals like baboons and monkeys who lack the thinking faculties associated with humans. keep hailing thieves while waiting for them to plead guilty. How many criminals ever plead guilty in court ?In the history of Nigeria,I have never heard of ANY politician that says he is guilty of looting. They always go the ethnic or political party victim route. Keep defending the conquerors of your Children's future while their Children are bagging first class in best universities all around the world. I don't have any affinity towards any thief be it my own father. |
Politics › Re: Probe: Jonathan Holds Meeting With Ex-ministers by azzima(m): 2:36pm On Aug 31, 2015 |
ORACLE1975: I must say I like the bold move of the Jonathan Ministers because from my humble but candid observation, I think the APC has no agenda and they represents a crop of old and failed politicians who are bereft of leadership ideas and experiences. Each time I read news from Nigeria, I am appalled by the arrogant insinuations of the APC and its bad mouthing the Jonathan administration, even though it is no longer in power. This APC strategy is one clear characteristic of poor and inexperienced leadership. While I am not a politician and would never want to be, I would very much love to contribute my quota to develop Nigeria when I come home. I want APC to learn from great leaders like the pragmatic and resilient Barack Obama. When Obama came to power in 2008, the US economy was so bad that it was in deep recession. The magnitude of such economic disaster impacted the whole global economy that it plunged into a level as bad as the great depression. Obama did not rule by making Bush a reference point at every instances or wasting his time conducting any probe of the Bush administration. Instead, he tackled the problems he met head long. It is to Obama's credit that the world was steered out of recession and the global economy became flamboyant once again. Unemployment rate in the US is now 5.2% down from 9.1% when Obama took power. Even at this present time when global oil prices have fallen, and big economies like Russia and China are seeing their surpluses turn to deficit, the US can boast of having one of the strong economy in the world. The lesson is simple: good leaders do not look for scapegoats for their own failures. They do not continue pointing accusing fingers each time reality stare them on the face. They instead put plugs to contain the problems and stop them from getting worse. The present Nigerian leadership seems not to know the problem facing the nation. They dont seem to have ideas. The only ideas they seem to have is how to demonize PDP and cast aspersions on the people who served the country in the last administration. Noise making, we all know, cannot solve problems. Noises about stolen funds and waiting until the funds are recovered before one can start ruling is cheap blackmail. When Buhari came to power years back, among the problems he said he is fighting was nepotism. But nepotism of sort is what Nigeria is seeing from his current appointments. The President should roll out his agenda and his plans to make Nigeria great even with the limited resources he met on ground. His ability to start working and not talking about money that has already been spent, will engrave his name in the annals of history. We Nigerians both home and in diaspora are ready to work with him. Throwing muds and casting aspersions all the time is getting too boring and stale, and is a sign of rascality, ineptitude, and an area boy approach to politicking. It is only in Nigeria and Africa that such leadership trait is lauded as an achievement. Dear President Buhari, history beckons on you. Do not let people who have malice and hatred in their heart or axes to grind drag you into their tirade. If you should be angry over anything, your anger should be directed at audit Departments in all the Ministries and parastatals where lootings took place. They earn fat salaries for doing no job, and they drive shinny cars and live in luxurious homes, and now want you to abandon your enormous job of governance and do their jobs of checking ledgers. BUHARI PLEASE SETTLE DOWN. So are you saying that the issue of OUR billions being stolen should be forgotten? what message is it sending to the intending looters ?? If Buhari concentrate on recovering this loot,a lot would be added to our National purse this year. INPUNITY MUST BE STOPPED FROM OUR COLLECTIVE PSYCHE. see as this fool is making light of corruption, a major contributor to our bleeding coffer. Like I asked many times, why are Nigerians all of a sudden sympathetic towards all these thieves? ?Why are we ALL OF A SUDDEN becoming immune to corruption ??it's this an ethnic issue My own FATHER must be probed if he is suspected of stealing.....end of story! ! |

As for Jagaban, he has lost everywhere since Buhari became president. He only won in this power equation when he nominated Osibanjo and that was because Buhari wasn't president then. Since Buhari became president, his only success in national level politically, is pleading for Gbajiabimila to be the leader of House of Rep. He even pleaded with Dogara after several refusals.

EgusiSoup: With the recent happenings in the New political dispensation one can only reflect and be sober for how my fellow Yoruba brothers betrayed the South to vote for another ex-General when we all thought we had passed that era.
Nigeria is at a standstill today, EFCC is just fighting corruption selectively on the pages of newspapers, Ministers have not been appointed to fast track laudable projects initiated by the past administration, all we see is Pictures, Pictures and more Pictures of the current President with Cows, and so on.
Indeed the Yoruba race have already realized their mistake and can't wait to correct it come 2019.
Please GEJ if you are reading this, have a re-think about 2019 and save us from the slow but steady conspiracy by the North to once again have Nigeria in her laps.

olatade: Well that is all nicely put and indeed a powerful statement of intent. The problem here is the police service commission hasn't come out with a clear template on who and who amongst the numerous Nigerian VIP's would be entitled to have police security or escort. So the question of a team that will enforce compliance with Mr President's directives would be premature and a waste of time and amounts to the usual eye service. Lets us Nigerians know clearly who are entitled and who aren't chances are we as citizens might do a better job of whistle blowing on who are still using police escorts!! Vips should only be government officials and not Burna boy, foreign contractors, even Dangote is a bloody civilian not entitled to policemen. I know some wretched fool here will fight against the idea that Dangote as a civilian is not entitled to any police while his/her neighborhood is still without police presence. Nigeria needs sanitization both physically and psychologically. We are so used to lawlessness that we think every bad vice is ok |
