Car is in Limp mode and that is what needs to be fixed. Tired of the darn car. always goes into limp mode. changed TPS already.

1. Vehicle must be yours, and you must have paper work to substantiate it.

2. You must be over 18 (too many small children on NL)

4. No trucks,busses, lorries, trailers,ekenedilicukwu allowed. Vehicles allowed SUV's, CUV's sedans minis you know nah don't finish all my paint

5. No acccidented vehicles. (This is a free pain job not a panelbeaing job)

6. Vehicle must be in my workshop in lagos Max 2days after declaration of results by moderator, else runner up gets the free paint job.

7. NO colour changes.

8. Paint work will take 7days and progress will be documented here on NL

9. I need to think up more rules before I create the thread so feel free to help me.




This is how it works, I will OPEN a thread on the 1st of Nov 2015 specially for this contest, all you have to do is post 1 pic of your vehicle and that's it. No comments allowed on thread (any comment will ensure a disqualification) thread will be closed on the 10th of NOV 2015 winner will be decided by YOU guys. The vehicle pic with most likes wins.

I will post all the rules (updated ones) on that thread too.

MODERATOR will declare winner on the 10th of NOV, and if winner is in breach of any rules runner up gets it.

A lot of things could be wrong, the Ac compressor you replaced, is it meant for astro Chevy 02?
When last Did you do a tune up on the car?

That said, I'd love to see, inspect and diagonise the vehicle before any conclusion is made.

Back to Golf MK5 2.0FSI,
P0404 resurfaced again, so I had to go deeper into the challenge, took off EGR system, remove the top 6 hex star screws, removed wiring harness terminal and viola, a small black wheel cog had broken some teeth... Took EGR to Spare parts market to purchase exact replacement, but all u saw were defective... Same broken teeth's in all cogs... I will have to search some more places or place an order for a brand new EGR cog.

NOTE: the sheded tooth cog is a very common problem in 2.0 FSI egr problem, replacement of cog is the solution.

Tire valve stem cover....a lil vanity wont hurt.

I hope these covers stay on as long as possible. Our Lagos tire repairs guys have a way of 'forgetting' to return them after pumping tires.

No, I can't handle Chevrolet but only Ford, I believe your Chevy Mechanic should be able to get to the root. 100+ lits of fuel for about 135 miles is extremely outrageous. No black smoke means the system is pouring fuel that is fully combusted. No code means the consumption of fuel is proportional to the operation of the electronic structure design of the engine. So the problem may be within compression ratio/volumetric efficiency in relative to the effect on the vehicle ie load and frictional forces.

Gurus in the house, sorry for troubling you again ooo, but the task at hand is not finished until you listen to my story.

So after coming back from my travel and the car had been abandoned for like a month, I started the car today mon 14 Sept and the first start the car came alive one time (I didn't believe it) but went off as one ba3 terminal came off.

Then I took it to a professional (I have know this professional since I was in pry 3 or 4 then he was a driver to certain pupils in my sch) he has been a mech for 20yrs plus and works on Beemers and Range rovers. To cut the long story short, he started the car several times and it started once, am really surprised. So his verdict was that the overheating had caused pistons to get stucked reason for the untimely start and that if it was timing chain, the car will not even Revv at all.

Note, I left the car running for 30mins and the tacho didn't budge and the car didn't die at all, Ac was left at fan speed 1 engine sound changed but car didn't die. His verdict is that th engine is still good just that I have to live with the cold start thing.

car doesn't smoke
the temp guage now moves at a slow and steady pace like it should
