According to Api, any current oil spec is very suitable for the older spec that it replaces. If the current 20w 50 is sm, why do we need sj, sl, and all the dead oils? Nothing prevents a vehicle made in 1990 to use SM rated oil. We wonder why Total and forte will have as oem specs, Bmw LL01 as one of the approved oils for cars built in 2002 and it is an api Sj. How can an oil with SN be specifically claimed to be compatible with GM diesel engines only while other foreign oils are gasoline complaint or both? I believe that the time to boycott these oils is now to save us from further economic woes. It is these same companies that are proudly selling dexron 11 and 111, an oil that have been taken ovet by events 11 years ago and because these companies are ignorant of the trends in the oil market, motorists are wasting money because they assume that the Goverment is protecting them by ensuing that they meet the current standards. For all those oil companies selling dexron 11 and 111 in 2016, please go bankrupt and save Nigerian motorists the stress of parting with their hard earned money to replace the vehicles transmission. Enough is enough.

Don't disturb yourself... Get a scanner Dat does data streaming,.. When you connect it to the dlc port.. Check your live data and look for short-term fuel trim and long-term fuel trim... D % given shouldn't be over ten.. Or ten maximum... If it's more... Your car consumes fuel more dan necessary. .. Check d codes given and correct accordingly

I want to find out From the gurus and all, can Honda evil spirit 2011 V6 with18ltrs 3k N145 per litre ok for these routes. Egbeda to Ojo alaba via isheri - lasu expressway, from Ojo to festac, okota, Cele, Oshodi via express, ikeja, Ogba, from Ogba, agege pen cinema, dopemu back to Egbeda with AC throughout. Is the fuel consumption ok or not with all the routes and the Honda accord evil spirit V6.

But asides that. Would want to know the history of that car. What have you done, when you noticed that sudden distortion in fuel MPG? Have mechanics done repairs on it recently? Those are the ??s I would want answers for, before we start. Any check engine lights, PRE that fault, or currently you've one on the dash?

A friend collected #2.3m loan from GTB last year when he was working in a company in PH with 3 years and 6 months repayment plan, He repay for six months which was amount to around #300k before he was sacked last year. to my surprise he said nobody contacted him either by mail of by phone call since last year. i signed his guarantor form, i want to ask is it that the bank has for go the money? does it have any implication? as a guarantor i my save? honmusa has given you the lead as in the position of the two sensors. If you search auto codes website, you will see that the usual experience with them is engine stalling and loss of power.

The other code P0010 maybe as a result of the other two. I suggest you start with checking if they are properly connected. Depending on whether work has been done on the timing recently, I would not suggest opening the top cover yet until you are sure.

The B is a circuit problem while A is intermittent failure. So A can be as a result of B.

Idle speed is supposed to be maintained by ECU, so essentially, you cannot increase it. Your mechanic only did it by adjusting your throttle cable to keep the butterfly valve open. That will create other problems relating to TPS (throttle position sensor) and the ECU will definitely notice.

You know we're the problem is, it's better to solve it than create more.

Adjusting idle to about 1500. For this buhari season. Have you checked the news lately. Fuel would be selling for 200# per litre soon. By the time that car drinks 5 litres in 2mins. You would know that this change is real

The codes can be triggered if you have a faulty timing chain tensioner, also if you recently worked on the timing chain area and it was not set properly

I have often seen a lot of complaints here about GDI engines, with owners resorting to replacing a GDI engine with the non-GDI while some owners sell their vehicles off out of disappointment and frustration. This made me pick a keen interest in these engines, seeking to know what it is about them that eludes our auto technicians and mechanics in this country that make us often fail to keep vehicles with GDI engines on the road.

Mention Mitsubishi brand that has a GDI to a regular mechanic and the reaction you would get is “Ahhhhhh! The motor ehn, na problem moto oh!” …but why? …one mechanic even told his client to go and start fasting and praying. And I asked him: …”is there any part in this engine that wasn’t made by man?” To answer that question very well for myself, this was what I did… -I walked into one of the mechanic’s workshop which had a neat Mitsubishi space wagon parked in its premises for almost a year. Long story short, I paid for the 7seater minivan and started working on its 4G64 GDI engine right there and was able to get the engine running in 7 hours.

The common problem these GDIs develop after about a year of using it is its inability to rev well, causing serious drivability issues. That was the same problem with the one I acquired.

After a few minutes of observing the fuel system on the vehicle and research, I realized that the GDI system needs two different kinds of fuel pumps to work well.
1. The primary intank fuel pump: Located inside the tank as usual and is electrically operated. Its job is to pick fuel from the fuel tank to the secondary fuel pump.

2. The secondary High Pressure Fuel pump: Located on the engine head and driven by the intake camshaft. This pump receives fuel from pump1 and multiplies the fuel flow pressure. Most drivability issues experienced by GDI owners is caused by failure of this pump to maintain the required pressure in the fuel rail.

The only reason this pump fails so frequently in Nigeria is Engine Oil Abuse.
a. Using oil specifications other than the factory specification for that particular engine.
b. Skipping oil changes.

Another evasive problem is Carbon buildup on intake valves. This is a common and regular problem with the GDI engines. Due to modern Unburned Hydrocarbon (UHC) regulations, vapors from the crankcase are usually vented into the intake stream in order to prevent oil droplets from escaping through the exhaust. In a port injection engine, these droplets are ‘washed off’ the neck of the intake valve by a relatively constant stream of gasoline droplets. In a GDI engine, the gasoline doesn’t touch intake side of the valve. As a result, the droplets have a tendency to bake onto the valve and significantly reduce performance. To add to this effect, many advanced GDI engines also include exhaust gas recirculation in order to lean out the combustion mixture and reduce in-cylinder temperatures for certain combustion modes (reducing NOx emissions). Since GDI combustion has the ability to produce far more soot than premixed combustion (port injection), the problem is magnified, causing symptoms that range from low engine rev, rough engine running and general drivability issues.
