The so-called fraud is an inspiration to several other players. They all look up to him because he is the face of the game.

He isn't just a player, he is a role model.
He wasn't any inspiration, Money was the inspiration, why didn't he go to China or Turkey let's see how inspirational he really is.

If Messi agreed to go to Saudi Arabia they were willing to pay him more than 2× of what they are paying Ronaldo.
SportsRe: Messi, Inter Miami CF 1-2 Houston Dynamo: Miami Lost US Open Cup Final by babajero(m): 12:08pm On Sep 28, 2023
obembet:
It was terrible day for Messi and Inter Miami as lose America open cup with 2 goals to 1 against Huston dynamo

The million-dollar question heading into Wednesday's US Open Cup final was whether Lionel Messi would play from the start or the bench. In the end Inter Miami's superman did neither on a night when Houston Dynamo proved their kryptonite to spoil the party.

If this was meant to be a Miami parade at their home DRV PNK Stadium, news of Messi's absence from the 18-man Miami roster rained down on it harder than the torrential conditions throughout the day in Fort Lauderdale.

Thousands of supporters had flocked to this stadium hoping to watch Argentina's World Cup-winning captain work his magic on one of the biggest stages in US soccer. France and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane, in the house for tonight's showpiece, was clearly one of them.

And without their superstar player at the helm, Miami were devoid of all inspiration in a miserable first half.

After a sloppy and slippery opening 10 minutes, which at times proved difficult to watch in wet conditions, Houston slowly began to exert their dominance on proceedings against a Miami side which almost looked shellshocked by the loss of their main man.

Eventually it was the superb Nelson Quinones who carved out the first decent opening of the night, latching onto a pass from Andre Bassi and pulling the trigger just inside the area, only to be denied by a superb sliding block from Kamal Miller.

Over the next five minutes the 21-year-old would continue to terrorize DeAndre Yedlin down Houston's left flank, leaving the Miami right-back for dead in the 18th minute before drilling the ball across to Corey Baird, whose header sailed over the crossbar.

Miami simply could not get going on their big night at DRV PNK Stadium. In the opening 20 minutes, they failed to register a single shot.

In the 24th minute, just moments after Callender made an incredible double save to keep them out, Houston finally got what they deserved when Griffin Dorsey fired home the first goal of the final.

A swift counter-attack upfield first saw Baird pick out Artur on the edge of the box. The Brazilian midfielder simply shifted the ball over to Dorsey in acres of space, and despite the tight angle his fierce shot flew past Callender's near post and into the back of the net for only his second goal of the season. What a time to get it.

Having sleepwalked throughout the opening half-hour, Houston's opener failed to spark Miami into life as they continued to squander possession cheaply. The visitors were well in their groove by this point, with the likes of Quinones, Bassi and Adalberto Carrasquilla combining with a free-flowing swagger throughout.

Miami already had a mountain to climb at 1-0 without the superhuman powers of Messi to save them from the bench. Yet that mountain became all the more towering when Yedlin felled Quinones inside the box in the 32nd minute.

The former Premier League defender was the wrong side of Houston's danger man as he was released in the box, meaning there was little hesitation from the referee when the desperate challenge went in and he fell to ground.

As a boisterous sea of pink shirts did their best to distract him, Bassi kept his composure and made no mistake from the spot, cooly sticking his effort down the middle to double Houston's lead.

Ben Olsen's side were in complete control of this final and fully deserving of the two-goal lead which stunned the home crowd into silence. Messi, watching on from the stands, must have been doing so through his fingers.

It was only 10 minutes after Houston's second when Miami finally showed signs of life. Robert Taylor advanced down the right-hand side and floated the ball into the box to Leonardo Campana, who brought it down with his back to goal and teed up Benjamin Cremaschi.

Though almost to sum up their first-half showing, the 18-year-old's shot flew over the bar and the hosts' first decent chance of the night went begging.

Tata Martino had work to do during the half-time interval. Up until the final few minutes his side were as flat as a pancake, bamboozled by the brilliance of Quinones and Co.

Desperate to find a solution, the Inter boss hooked off Taylor and Diego Gomez and opted for Josef Martinez and Dixon Arroyo from the bench.

His changes almost proved a masterstroke early in the second half, with Martinez at the heart of two glorious openings which ramped up the noise inside this stadium.

The Venezuelan striker came agonisingly close in the 56th minute with a well-timed header from Facundo Farías' free-kick, before falling victim to the slippery surface when racing towards goal in a one-on-one situation minutes later.

Shortly after, another quick move upfield worked its way to Cremaschi just behind the penalty spot, but his effort from close range was blocked as Houston's backline reacted quickly to the danger.

Miami certainly huffed and puffed after the interval as the likes of Martinez, Campana and Farias stepped things up a gear. Though for all their efforts, Houston goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell barely had a save to make.

The visitors almost made them pay on the break in the 70th minute, with Carrasquilla's lob towards the back post briefly worrying Callender before the ball went out of play.

Quinones then thought he had put the final nail in Miami's coffin with 15 minutes remaining. The Colombian finished another exquisite Houston move by looping the ball into the top-right corner, only for VAR to intervene and deem that he was in an offside position.

Meanwhile, Martino continued to search for answers from the sidelines, rolling the dice by bringing on American midfielder David Ruiz for Yedlin and later Argentine striker Nicolás Marcelo Stefanelli for Cremaschi.

Just as it seemed their best chances had passed them by, Martinez raised the roof when he latched onto a long ball into the box and bundled home past Tarbell. All of a sudden, a home crowd that flocked to this stadium hoping for another fairytale evening were dreaming of a last-gasp comeback.

In the end it proved too little too late for a Messi-less Miami, who were left to rue the absence of their talisman and captain as Houston ran out winners.

This goes a long way to tell you the impact of Messi to the football world.

Good morning landers, its a beautiful thursday morning here in lagos,
Ok so straight down to the business without much hassle.

It goes like this, ok I have this girl I'm dating she has been a lovable soul a friend, partner, lover and mother.

She is caring also I have never met a girl like that in my life since I became an adult the only person that I know has those quality she possessed was my mum which is late now.

she is from kwale I think a town In delta state and I am from ondo so we have been together for couple of years now.

We had a heart to heart conversation she told me about her past and I also told her about mine.

Though I've dated some substantial amount of ladies sha, I don't want to mention before una call me (Ashewo or brostitute grin,

So in the long run while explaining she told me what transpired between she and some of her exes the ones that kept deceiving her and collecting money from her she mentioned about 10 of them which she actually supported to to travel out of the country but they neglected and dumped her after they got over sea, more of like she fell into the hand of bad guys.

What kept ringing in my head and making me scared was the fact she made out with some of them and I still get angry knowing that fact sometimes she would be crying that I'm using her past against her just because she was inlove and it didn't work out within she and any of her ex .

I love her but her past kept dragging me back and making me scared of taking the next step.

Not to mention all of what she has done for me but when I lost my mum she stood by me all through the difficult times she prays for me she was with me at the hospital for days until my mum passed out.

Looking at these are qualities I get confused the more because I dint know if I'm making the right decision by letting her go she rarely ask for anything

Please your candid advice I'd needed
Na your prick dey talk no be your brain.

Reflect7:
Let's not pretend or be delusional on this GADEMN FORUM.

This terminal was built in the centre of OSHODI.

Has any of you here been to OSHODI?

Especially before they built that terminal?

Look, I GREW UP PASSING THROUGH OSHODI DAILY ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL.

Oshodi was a hellhole of fast commerce, market women selling everywhere.

Oshodi is the first place I've seen where market woman would place their stalls in the middle of the road, with cars passing. When the Molue reaches the point they are, the driver would jump out screaming at the woman to remove their stalls from the road.

You would think the women would be remorseful and be saying sorry for blocking the road. For where? They will be abusing the driver back as he's driving off. Raining curses on him! That's Oshodi for you!

Plus chronic overcrowding, rushing for Molue, desperation, illiteracy, semi-literacy, touts, thugs, Alayes, pickpockets, drug dealers, poverty, and open defecation.

Oshodi was where ARMED ROBBERS you used to go and hide after committing atrocities in more civiized parts of Lagos.

A sprinkling of BROTHELS in the area gladly served as hideouts.

I personally frequented some of those brothels in my secondary school days in the 80s.

I often used my pocket money to go and nyash ashewo.

Short time, 10 Naira.

Oshodi was the quintessential Lagos hellhole.

All those people were not moved out of OSHODI after they commissioned the terminal.

They are still there.

So how the hell do you expect the terminal to look? wink

The minute I heard they were building that terminal at OSHODI, I knew it would get to this.

I'm even surprised they haven't smashed in all those ajebota glass walls and trimmings in the terminal.

The place even still looks clean somehow, considering the fact that it is in Oshodi. grin

Truth is it would be a hell of a task keeping that terminal looking like somewhere in Paris or Brussels or London, with the kind of characters that populate OSHODI.

If that facility was located somewhere in Ikeja or Surulere or the Island or Lekki, the place will be looking very clean and sharp even with minimal maintenance.

Simply because of the calibre of people in those areas.

The long-term solution for this sort of thing is just to improve the living standards of the masses, plus education.
Mr man you just wrote trash.

That rubbish wouldn't happen with Ambode or someone like Ambode in charge, or who believed that agbero can run away and start hiding in Lagos but Ambode did it when on seat, but now agberos even stop vehicles in the middle of the express to extort them.

The problem of Lagos is more than 90percent leadership.

It took Ambode less than 4 years to build all the notable infrastructures being destroyed in Lagos with little or no borrowing, but the present government can't boast of anything it has done for more than 4 years now.

THE MASSES ARE ALWAYS THE REFLECTION OF THE LEADERS but in the case of nigeria RULERS.

The North don't make noise. Mind you babajero , Jibril Aminu, was a typical Fulani herds boy roaming bushes with cattles. cheesy
This is really interesting, the same 1980s they were using quota system and grade cut for north to make them go to school. I believe you, he is a Fulani herds boy just as buhari and other fleas from the north are herdsmen, just keep deceiving yourself.

Prof Jibril Aminu came out with a distinction from UI. And there are many like him, both men and women.

One boy from Anambra would have been making noise every where by now had it been. Yeye..... undecided
cheesy
And that boy from Anambra would be a son or daughter of average Igbo family, unlike the north where only the influential gets the best life can offer, while using religion to tie down the majority of the population.

That same boy that got all A's from the north set him up with a boy or a girl that got all C's from the 'East of Niger' and see what happens.
