Why did he deny? Is it how a government behaves? Lie on issues it is handling? What if he had told the truth what would have been the consequences?
I think that it is the responsibility of the government to know when to talk and when to be silent. It's called leadership. Not everything can be communicated to the proletariat
Many times you tell your wife about something only after the incident has passed and you've dealt with it.
Anyway nigerians need some sense so maybe we need an economic meltdown and naira at one million to one dollar get some sense.

There's something very wrong when the CBN governor's denial spooks the markets instead of calming them.

When you invest in a volatile market and the general manager of the market says that he would do nothing to protect your investment, you would get worried and pull out because the assumption all along was that Nigeria is doing a managed flotation.
I do pity Nigerian children but the adults deserve all the suffering they get, they are greedy, selfish, callous self inflated retards who pretends to be intelligent.
One million to one dollar might get some sense into their vacuous heads. Let's pray for that.

Cardoso boys will come and blame obidients very soon
Obedients caused this particular problem. They kept mouthing off that Cardoso is using foreign reserves to shore up the naira. They got very loud so Cardoso had to deny which spooked the market .
Nigerians are their own worst enemies but guess what nigerians deserve all the hardship they get so naira can as well go to one million to one dollar. Retard nation

Babalegba How far? If I tell you before end of 2024 dollar go hit 2000/$ you will still open your mouth waaaaa.

Presently, there are market distortions but it will still not get to 2000 .Cardoso should have kept his mouth shut about not defending the naira but he talked because of the accusations of some nigerians.
Nigerians are the worst enemies of Nigeria, but still the reforms are yet to kick in and refineries are not yet working. It means that the economy is yet to start firing.
When things are in place we should see a huge fundamental turnaround for the naira . No shaking.

The cabal behind this must have gone for reinforcements.
Nigeria is not the only country presently affected by high dollar rates. The american economy has done so well that the figures has put enormous pressure on the currencies of emerging nations, even Japan and the south Korean won has been adversely affected and China is not left out.

Indonesia and Malaysia are having to intervene in the market while Portugal is pondering it.
Nigeria will only be out of the woods when there is enough liquidity in the market, inflation is tamed and refineries are going full blast saving fx and bringing in fx.

Politics / Re: Why Is Peter Obi So Popular On Nairaland? by Babalegba(m): 7:16pm On Apr 23
FreedomfromtheT:
Going by Peter Obi's popularity on Nairaland, one might think that the former Anambra State governor is the current president of Nigeria.
Even Peter Obi's opponents and haters can hardly stay a day without talking or writing about him.
Countless propaganda upon propaganda against a private citizen cannot be ordinary.
His Excellency Peter Obi must be a threat to certain powerful people if not they wouldn't be throwing everything at him.
There must be something about this amiable Peter Obi.
Just look out and check for the barrage of responses and propaganda that will follow this thread on Peter Obi and see for yourself.
You used the wrong word. It's called infamy. He is infamous on nairaland

Another one

I remember before the Advent of the internet, they told the world how good they are, how honest and straight forward, how every other group are bad and criminals. But alas the Internet has busted all lies 🤣

Let's look no further than the recently sacked and disgraced certificate forging ex EKDC MD Tinuade Sanda.

Below bolded is an excerpt from the news report on her behavior which typically reflects their known characteristics.

The former MD, is known for sowing discord and creating division among staff as well as misrepresenting important facts to the shareholders

With the internet we know those who
Kill their mother's over palmoil .
Behead their parents over land and inheritance .
Those who kill their parents for rituals .
When know those who slap their elders in traffic .
We know those who molest minors the most .
We know those who commit cyber crime all over the world denting our image .
We know those who make up academic records hence why you see them in banks , human resources etc . 99% of them use fake MBA and certifications grin
The internet has exposed beyond all reasonable doubt those whose culture is deceit and propaganda.
Those who are raised to spread division in any group , company or gathering they join..

They started accounting and gartered accounting just so they can manipulate numbers to always tell you IGR this and stats that grin
We know them grin

This is why their new song now is regulate social media

Because the Internet has exposed the lies they built over the decades grin

They will never forgive chief OBJ from bringing this internet to Nigeria.
Aren't you supposed to be getting wiser as you get older. If you could remember the world before the Internet then you should be wise enough not to post the rubbish you posted.

Business / Re: What Made The Dollar Fall Over Night? by Babalegba(m): 12:00pm On Apr 22
Everlastingson:

Keep your dollar and don't be afraid. The " gain" you see Naira make is cosmetic, it's artificial. It's manipulated by the CBN depleting the nations foreign reserve to prop the Naira. They can't do that for long cuz Nigeria doesn't export anything to get the dollar. Even the volume of the crude oil they export is down due to their own bunkering and crude theft activities, plus they used the crude as futures to collect billions of dollars as loan from Afriexim Bank at diabolical interest rate. Their reserve is almost red now. Forget their APC lies. Keep your dollar coz the Naira will soon become woeful against the dollar again I assure you. But this is an advice. The final decision is yours but I've told you what must happen soon.
Lol, you have no grip on reality at all . Why do you think Cbn came up with plethora of rules and reforms. The game is up.

Seems its been long you ate out, average plate of food in naija is 2500
I got rice, beans and fish for 800 in Abeokuta A bottle of coke made it 1100.
It's absolutely impossible for you to get a portion of chips in the UK for a pound but I had a Nigerian meal for 800.

My experience tells me never to get behind a known thief who gets into power. It has never ended well with a country being ruled by crooks. Only the closest dudes who joined in the plan will loot and flee, the rest of the people will always suffer poverty.

Intelligence is not about supporting criminals.
Intelligence is about finding ways to reap maximum benefit from whatever hand you are dealt in life. All of them are thieves,in fact you cannot get to be a leader at governorship level in Nigeria unless you are a thief and have no respect for the masses.
Think about this,if two governorship went to a juju man for fortifications and they were told to bring a human being for sacrifice. One man refused but the other man asked the juju man if he could bring two people so that the juju would work better. Who do you think will win.
Don't be deceived. They are all thieves.

The dollar don start to rise again. Heading straight to 2160.
Not possible unless the government start printing loads of money.
The naira is currently undervalued and should be around 700 or so if not for corruption and the japa people.
One dollar does not even get you a plate of chips in the US but 1300 gets you a decent meal here. Naira is going to appreciate because it's undervalued.

Wrong answer. The economy was ruined by the people this current president supported to power. That was when we lost control of the economy totally. And don't get yourself too hopeful, the people in power cannot salvage it. They are not even near to it, apart from looting, they have zero interest in saving your economy. Start learning how to do dry fasting, you may need it to cross into 2031.
You are talking to the wrong person mate. I lived in the UK for twenty five years,,got back and have a sizeable real estate business.
I'm not worried about myself,my children are not even here. I just feel bad that nigerian children are going through hell not all of which is caused by the top people.
Sadly Nigerians are not very intelligent. Intelligent people get behind whoever is repairing a country, offering support and encouragement, in Nigeria the losing opposition work against the government in power throughout their tenure. Years later when the opposition is in power then the other lot work against them as well resulting in a failed country.
Nigerians are not intelligent, sorry.

Who ruined the economy?
That question is irrelevant. Economies can be ruined by external and internal forces.
In Nigerias case it was ruined by the ruling class and the proletariat.
The relevant thing is what is being done to alleviate the sufferings of the poor.
In China people who work against the economy are executed. I wish we could have the same thing in Nigeria

Don't mind them, to them, anyone who speaks the truth will be grouped under an umbrella. They call you names or paint you bad, meanwhile hunger is resetting the heads of them and their entire village.
And what truth did you say. Would you recognize the truth if it is camped on your nose.
Children are going to bed hungry and you want the economy ruined for some nefarious reason so Nigeria can become a joke for the rest of the world.
I've now realized that Nigeria has no real hope because when the inhabitants of a country are not very bright then their country becomes inhabitable and a hellhole

Lol, naira is cheap at 1100 per dollar. You can't get a meal with one dollar in the US but you get a solid meal with 1100 naira in Nigeria. Cheaper dollars brings inflation down in Nigeria.
