Seems its been long you ate out, average plate of food in naija is 2500
I got rice, beans and fish for 800 in Abeokuta A bottle of coke made it 1100.
It's absolutely impossible for you to get a portion of chips in the UK for a pound but I had a Nigerian meal for 800.

My experience tells me never to get behind a known thief who gets into power. It has never ended well with a country being ruled by crooks. Only the closest dudes who joined in the plan will loot and flee, the rest of the people will always suffer poverty.

Intelligence is not about supporting criminals.
Intelligence is about finding ways to reap maximum benefit from whatever hand you are dealt in life. All of them are thieves,in fact you cannot get to be a leader at governorship level in Nigeria unless you are a thief and have no respect for the masses.
Think about this,if two governorship went to a juju man for fortifications and they were told to bring a human being for sacrifice. One man refused but the other man asked the juju man if he could bring two people so that the juju would work better. Who do you think will win.
Don't be deceived. They are all thieves.

1263.

The dollar don start to rise again. Heading straight to 2160.
Not possible unless the government start printing loads of money.
The naira is currently undervalued and should be around 700 or so if not for corruption and the japa people.
One dollar does not even get you a plate of chips in the US but 1300 gets you a decent meal here. Naira is going to appreciate because it's undervalued.

Wrong answer. The economy was ruined by the people this current president supported to power. That was when we lost control of the economy totally. And don't get yourself too hopeful, the people in power cannot salvage it. They are not even near to it, apart from looting, they have zero interest in saving your economy. Start learning how to do dry fasting, you may need it to cross into 2031.
You are talking to the wrong person mate. I lived in the UK for twenty five years,,got back and have a sizeable real estate business.
I'm not worried about myself,my children are not even here. I just feel bad that nigerian children are going through hell not all of which is caused by the top people.
Sadly Nigerians are not very intelligent. Intelligent people get behind whoever is repairing a country, offering support and encouragement, in Nigeria the losing opposition work against the government in power throughout their tenure. Years later when the opposition is in power then the other lot work against them as well resulting in a failed country.
Nigerians are not intelligent, sorry.

Who ruined the economy?
That question is irrelevant. Economies can be ruined by external and internal forces.
In Nigerias case it was ruined by the ruling class and the proletariat.
The relevant thing is what is being done to alleviate the sufferings of the poor.
In China people who work against the economy are executed. I wish we could have the same thing in Nigeria

Don't mind them, to them, anyone who speaks the truth will be grouped under an umbrella. They call you names or paint you bad, meanwhile hunger is resetting the heads of them and their entire village.
And what truth did you say. Would you recognize the truth if it is camped on your nose.
Children are going to bed hungry and you want the economy ruined for some nefarious reason so Nigeria can become a joke for the rest of the world.
I've now realized that Nigeria has no real hope because when the inhabitants of a country are not very bright then their country becomes inhabitable and a hellhole

There are more, a person from this country broke the record for not going to any known school, not having a childhood or past, and yet ended up in Aso rock. That's a bad record.
People should give all these Guinness records rubbish a rest. It's overdone already.
A better one is Olympics championship or world athletics championship.

My greatest regret right now is coming into this life as a Yoruba boy, I hate that am a Yoruba boy and I sincerely envy the Igbo child, the kind of wisdom God gave to them the yorubas can never have it till Christ comes. My Yoruba people are U$ele$$ and I don't love to associate with them. Most of my good friends are Igbos and am sure that if I will ever reincarnate I will reincarnate as an Igbo man. My fiance is an igbo from Enugu
Lol. You gave me a good laugh today. It's not too late; why not change your name to Emeka and move to enugu but don't come back.
Ibo wisdom my foot. Their ancestors had no concept of central leadership, kingship and national army something that the Israelites thought about five thousand years ago.

Why won’t they mop up dollar when CBN made it soo cheap?

I wish it went to 500/usd. With how high inflation is, you dare make dollar that cheap? Especially now people wan japa.

I pray they bring it down again 🙏
Lol, naira is cheap at 1100 per dollar. You can't get a meal with one dollar in the US but you get a solid meal with 1100 naira in Nigeria. Cheaper dollars brings inflation down in Nigeria.

You posted "No force on earth can make Peter Obi president ", as if you are God. You are indirectly challenging all the forces that rules in the affairs of the earth, including God almighty. My friend, only God can make such a statement. You, with fleeting breath making such a statement pit yourself in collision course with God.
Lol . It's what's in his heart that matters not your twisted words.

ogododo:
The naira recorded N81.34 depreciation against the US dollar in a single day at the foreign exchange market.

FMDQ data showed that the naira tumbled to N1,154.08 per dollar on Thursday from N1,072.74 on Wednesday.

This represents a 7.04 per cent loss against the dollar compared to N1,072.74 per dollar traded the previous day.

Similarly, at the parallel market the naira depreciated N1,100 per dollar on Thursday from N1, 040 on Wednesday.

Accordingly, this is the second time the naira is depreciating against the dollar in three days amid fears of depleting foreign exchange reserves.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, in a statement on Wednesday said the country received $600 million inflow into its foreign reserves recently.

Earlier, Nigeria’s FX reserves dropped to $32.29 billion as of April 15.

However, Cardoso said as long as there is liquidity in the country’s FX market, Naira’s gain can be sustained.

The conclusion of the matter everything been read carefully on Nairaland, I noticed some people are not okay. How can u praise someone that met dollar at 600 raise it to 1800 and manage to bring it to 1000. Is dat where he met it? Are u people celebrating backwardness.

One Yoruba adage says "if oracle can not help you, let the oracle leave you where it met you".

The naira was pegged before and it's value defended with nigerias fx earnings but our fx reserves is not enough to continue such strategies anymore.
The naira has been floated now even if it's a managed float and quickly lost value. The Cbn identified the problems and the culprits then implemented a raft of measures to improve stability and liquidity .
The measures appear to be working and the obedients are not happy about it.
