All I can say is that May ALMIGHTY GOD forgive you for blindly trying to save your Ego after that guy told you the truth. Painting an innocent person bad just to justify your myopic mindset is never a way to go.

The first part of his post is correct, the delivery timeline has to elapse before refunds can be processed by AliExpress and looks like there is still three days before that could happen. It really doesn't mean that the scammer will get the money in three days but the delivery timeline ends in three days and disputes can be started.
I'm glad that the o.p brought this issue into the public domain as information is what defeats scammers

It's not really possible to know their exchange rate unless you purchase something but I think it's slightly above black market rate . Both classic and platinum card works.
I just checked and there's no promotion ongoing, might be better to wait for their promo.

If the buyer has dollar and is willing to pay, why not allow two gentlemen deal in peace? The guy also has the option of accepting Naira equivalent and going to exchange it for dollar in black market.
It is either the seller accepts Naira and buy dollar with it, or the buyer buys dollar with Naira and pays the seller. Almost the same thing.

Looks like many nigerians don't even know what the term legal tender means.

I think that you should have a bit more patience. When the money is released,you can withdraw it but then move money back in again to take advantage of their promo in future. They do the promo at least three times in a year.

Providus are very useless for this thing. After going through the stress of opening an account, getting the MasterCard, stupid customer care still put my 100k on 3 months lien/hold. Now no more discount which was the whole point.

My money was not put on hold. I deposited the money and used it the next day. Maybe you didn't even try to make a purchase with the card and just believed the misinformation from the customer service personnel.
They do the promo periodically so sooner or later they will do the promo again ,then you can take advantage of the promo.

The bybit virtual MasterCard is just a way for you to spend your crypto currencies in a bybit account. USDT, USDC and I think XRP are part of the ones supported. They are no creation or maintenance fees for the card. The card is primarily linked to your bybit crypto account so as along as there is crypto in that account you can make transactions with the card.
Depositing money in the account is usually done via P2P and the rates are fair, even better than the ones offered by most FinTechs.
To apply for the card you'll need a bybit account and perform a proof of address and identity verification - I used my bank statement and Passport for this. The whole process took less than an hour to complete.

For the pros:
- you get 10% cashback on purchases made with the card.
- you can link the card to your local PayPal account.
- little or no transaction fees

For the cons:
well, I haven't really had any since have been using the card for a month. The ones I can think of are
- you are capped to 5,000 usd transaction for a day
- you can't receive money with card since the card is not exactly attached to a bank account.

I have used the card on PayPal and made all my purchases on AliExpress with it. It's just unbelievable that it works this smoothly.

With Providus you don't need a dollar card, just the normal card and they'll do the conversion for you. With GTB you do need a dollar card that you fund with dollars yourself

Last time I used them was two months ago and it was 1750 but I got a 100 dollars discount. Naira has gained significantly since then. Opay was actually more expensive at the time

Of course you can use the card but you don't get the discount. Discount currently available on GTB though
