I am in the same situation with the op. I resigned and was allowed 3 months to pay of though with a guarantor. Thereafter to continue paying at commercial rates. It is shocking though that I have not been paid since September at my new place and no information regarding that but I have no regrets cos I was only being used to recover debts wth no career path for a lawyer of almost 9 years and counting.

A bit of enlightenment about Letter of Administration. It is a correct process to demand for letter of administration when the deceased died intestate (ie. without a Will). If the deceased died testate (leaving a Will behind) there will be no need for a letter of administration in which case the beneficiary may be asked to get a copy of the Will from the probate section of the court.

The Letter of Administration is mainly issued by a section of the Ministry of Justice. The essence of the letter is to show authority to administer the estate of the deceased who died intestate. Normally, if relevant documents are presented, it should not take more than 2 weeks to procure this.
It is a big surprise that people say it takes them close to one year to get this letter.

When I was in the Law School I did my internship at the Administrator General's Office of the Ministry of Justice and witnessed a very rapid dispatch of this letter.

Presently, in practice, I have helped a lot of people secure this letter within one month.

I was watching with interest that popular Richard Quest jingles/ advert on CNN only to observe after the whole razzmatazz that its a black man that they showed shining his shows. I suggest he should quickly edit that show of shame.

majority understand the three major languages in Nigeria including the minorities. And besides, everyone must not understand the three major languages before they are used at the airport to ease sufferness.

It is not bad if other indigenous languages like the major 3 are employed to better inform people of flight schedules

Is it that the announcers at the airport must speak in that near oyibo accent or is it the rule that they must announce flight in such way?

A woman yesterday missed her flight and had to pay extra after lamenting her fate, having missed a very important event at Abuja. According to her, she could'nt understand the English spoken by the flight announcer when she was suppose to board.

I think this attitude looks ridiculous, and typical of most things done in this part of the world. While in Europe, all the airports through which I had traveled made necessary announcements in the local languages before making such announcements in English.

Is it bad if announcements are made in the 3 major languages in Nigeria before such English spoken with funny twang.

Its just our values; just like the get rich quick or die trying syndrome.

I weep for our values in Africa. Can we probably change this norm of stigmatizing being single at a certain age especially the female folks. A friend of man had altercations with his fiancee at the verge of their wedding; ma guy threatened to call it quits and the girl told him point blank that she would just stab herself to death if he dare tries it. And from all indications, she meant it.

Females cry in their closet; pray their heart out and some do unimaginable things. I discovered there are family pressures to this end and the society also frown at single ladies.

My experience in Europe is that some ladies deliberately decide not to marry and/ or give birth and nobody gives a hoot about that; I am not saying that this is the best, but it kind of creates an ease of life amongst people. I thinks we should change our values to an extent
