It is labelled as such due to the Aim of the group, which is to establish a state on the 10 commandments of the Bible
The LRA's concept of the 10 commandments is different from the Biblical one. Even LRA has tried to clarify that. Furthermore, Christians do not live by the 10 Commandments because they are not under the Mosiac Law like Judaism.

The Norwegian scholar Knut Holter has argued that what the LRA means by the "Ten Commandments" is somewhat loosely associated with the Ten Commandments as found in the Biblical text. Holter notes that the LRA have created new commandments that help propagate their ideology under the term the "Ten Commandments". One such example is the LRA's commandment given as "Thou shalt not smoke."

In a speech, James Obita, a former secretary for external affairs and mobilisation of the LRA, adamantly denied that the LRA was "just an Acholi thing" and stated that claims made by the media and Museveni administration asserting that the LRA is a "group of Christian fundamentalists with bizarre beliefs whose aim is to topple the Museveni regime and replace it with governance based on the Bible's ten commandments" were false.

PMForce:
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has confirmed thirty-nine charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Ugandan rebel commander of Lord’s Resistance Army, Joseph Kony.

This is the first time for the Hague-based Court to confirm charges against a suspect in absentia. His trial can however not proceed without him in custody.

More than one hundred thousand people were killed during the LRA’s campaign of terror.

Reacting to the ICC confirmation, victims of the atrocities committed by the rebel reaffirmed the calls for his arrest.

“He should first be arrested, and all these charges be brought against him. However, the victims who suffered the torture cannot wait, some of these victims are also dying”

But Kony has not been seen in public for almost twenty years. It’s not even known if he’s still alive.
It is disingenuous and dishonest to label LRA as a Christian terrorist group. The LRA at best exhibits a syncretic blend of Christianity, traditional African spiritualism, and other religious elements. It is more a cult of personality formed around Joseph Kony. It does not rely on any Christian teachings or Biblical verses to perpetrate terror. In fact many people doubt the sincerity of Kony to any ideology or religion.

Compare that to Islamic terrorists that find solace in Islamic verses supporting terror and seek to establish Shariah or Islamic states.

Whereas it is easier to use the words and actions of Mohammad and some Quranic verses to support terrorism, it is extremely difficult to do same with the words and actions of Jesus Christ and Bible verses. That is why Islamic terrorist groups are by far the most common in the world today.

Chidibe212:
Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has stated that he supports the rehabilitation of repentant Boko Haram terrorists and bandits by the Federal Government of Nigeria. He said those who surrender and show they have changed should not be killed but forgiven and reintegrated into society.

In an interview with News Central TV, Sheikh Gumi said Jesus Christ once forgave the sins of a prostitute who was about to be stoned and told her to go and sin no more. He said both Islam and Christianity believe in forgiveness.

Gumi said repentant terrorists should be rehabilitated and turned into useful citizens. He added that they have valuable experience and can help the military defeat terrorists because they know their tactics and secrets

In Gumi's words: "So if they repent what do you want to do, to kill them? Jesus Christ taught us that if you see somebody repent (sic). A prostitute came to him, they wanted to stone her because it is stoning and killing, and he said, 'Go and sin no more'. This is even Christianity. So what do you want us to do? Put them and kill? That is what is called genocide, if they surrender then we accept their surrender and rehabilitate them and make them useful Nigerians"

When Shariah is cutting the hands and limbs of thrives, where is the forgiveness or consideration for the fact that they could become useful citizens later? You quote Jesus Christ on the issue of the prostitute, yet the Islamic recommendation s stoning to death under Shariah.

We have seen how repentant Boko Haram terrorists have helped the fight against terrorism in the North. How the so called amnesty is just a balancing waste or funds and encouragement for insurgency in the North. Just keep quiet.
CrimeRe: My Wife Case With A Man That Beat Her. How Can I Get Justice. by Babinski: 9:01am On Nov 06, 2025
Careartrust:
My wife went to grind corn on 25th October. She then went to a nearby shop to buy half bag of water for the corn (#250) and later came back for another 3 satchets (#150), and she gave the man #500. She later needed more water and told the man to complete it one bag since he still has her #500 (cost of a bag of water). The man disagreed

Along the line, the man slapped my wife saying she's pointing at him. He beat her and his wife came and join him to beat my wife. They bite her and tore her clothes. It was the man's neighbor that gave my wife clothe to wear.

After my wife called me, I went to police station to request for the man's arrest.

At the end, the man denied that he didn't touch my wife. He turned it that it's woman to woman fight. It's only her wife that fought with my wife. We have been on it since then. I brought the person that grinded the corn to police and he testified that what my wife said was true. That it was the man the started beating my wife before his wife joined.

Yesterday, we went to DPO office. After hearing from the both parties again, he told the IPO to go to the scene and investigate what happened.

When the IPO came back, he said that from the information gathered, it was the woman that fought my wife. They took the case to court same yesterday and they turned it to woman to woman fight. The was adjourned.

What made me to create this post is that; this morning, my wife went to buy something. The neighbor of the man that beat my wife called her and asked her about the case. My wife told her that policeman was sent yesterday for investigation and he said that the people he asked confirmed that it was the man's wife that fought my wife. But the woman said no. That she's the one they met yesterday with another girl. They told the police that it was the man that beat my wife before his wife join.

How do I go in this case for the man to be charged for beating my wife.
Record several people from your neighborhood stating that the man first beat your wife before the wife joined. Let them state that it is the truth and they are volunteering the information without any threat or coercion. If possible, get them to make written and signed statements as well. Then package all the evidence in copies and show the DPO. If possible, get a lawyer to follow you. Evidence is what matter in court.

End up without stating the constitutional backing?

This your talk is talk of market women, especially those that hate Kanu.

Kanu didn't say he won't defend himself,he said he have no case to answer because case has no constitutional backing,he asked the judge and your Nigeria government lawyers to tell him on what law he's be tried, which they couldn't give him the answer in court.

The judge now asked him to put it in writing.

If you know, you can help the judge by stating the law backed by your Nigeria constitution.

When that is done through your lawyers and judge, Kanu will enter his defense.

Moreover in a sane country, the jurisdiction of the case supposed to be settled before anything.

But of course you people will support irregularities because it's against those you love to hate.
You apparently ignorant of court process or legal proceedings. You don't go to court to ask the judge stupid questions as a defendant. If Kanu's lawyers believe there is no constitutional grounds for his arraignment, they would have filed preliminary objections based on that and also reiterated same in the "no case" submission.

All the grand standing on social media is nothing before the judge. Kanu has a case to answer whether he likes it or not. The earlier you admit that the better.

Let's keep politics and tribal war aside.
Please to all the lawyers and Senior Advocates of Nigeria. My question is Based on Nigeria constitution, do the Court have the constitutional right ( legal power) to Nnamdi Kanu's Jurisdiction?
.... Yes or No with Nigeria constitutional backup.
The Supreme Court sent Kanu's case back to the Federal High Court for trial after he challenged the manner he was abducted for trial. The question of jurisdiction therefore does not arise.

Kanu is just trying to stall for time because he has no defense against the prosecution's case and the evidence tendered. For example, the recorded broadcast where he was urging carnage in Lagos. How does he defend against that? Will he day his voice was cloned or what?

What the Marshall lawyer is saying is different from what Kanu is doing. Kanu is not bringing any formal objection to jurisdiction. He has disbanded his legal team and now trying to waive his defence. And the Judge is warning him that what he is doing is very dangerous because by dismissing Kanu's "no case submission", the Court already holds the position that he has a case to answer and without any credible defense, he is going to get convicted and sentenced.

CareerRe: Proposed Retirement Age For Teachers Will Hinder Employment – Oyo by Babinski: 7:15am On Oct 12, 2025
IamCookieStraw:
There is nothing bad in extending the years of retirement for teachers, however i think the approval should be with a condition: eg. Teachers that have achieved M.Ed or relevant qualifications and above, may be allowed to stay beyond 60 years of age. It shouldn't be applicable to all teachers...as most teachers do not find it easier to up their game till retirement.
The basis for all these retirement iextension is the extension earlier given to Professors in Academia. However, a Professor is different from a Teacher. Teaching requires more physical effort and doesn't involve research andn nnovation that matures or is not limited by age.

A Professor may not need to stand lecture students to be useful to the University because he/she may be involved in research and supervising post graduate students.

However a teacher will always need to stand and take classes with lots of talking which is more exerting as age increases. Teacher productivity will definitely drop with old age.

Furthermore, attaining Professor rank requires a lot more than just being a teacher and involve specialization which is mot easy to come by. A teacher works with syllabus which is limited and can be teaching the same thing for 30 years. In fact the older the teacher gets, the more difficult to adapt to new things.

Our learned fellow who thinks consent is everything, maybe you'll volunteer as the Bishop's lawyer in Court?

So your reasoning is that where there is consent, there can be no abuse? A lecturer sleeping with his adult student has no case to answer because of consent? Are you aware the law understands that consent may not be given appropriately under some conditions? A person operating under fear, duress and desperation may not exercise consent appropriately, particularly in such a manner that is against public policy or resulting in reprehensible conduct.

Forget consent, the Bishop is an animal and has a case to answer on several issues.

According to Ijesa account, Oyo has not always been prominent and Ife was at one point mainly under the protection of Ijesa. The Owa Obokun was a son of Oduduwa and when there was civil war in Ile Ife, he quelled the war and said the unborn child of Oduduwa's Oluwo will be made King. Ijesa account says he was the one that impregnated the Oluwo that belonged to his Dad. The child of the Oluwo became the first Ooni. When the kid is regally dressed, people will ask who is this child and they will say Omo Oluwo ni which was contracted to Ooni
It is a common historical account that the Ijesa people originally lived in Ile-Ife before migrating to Ilesa and environs. The Ijesa trace their origin to Owa Obokun in some accounts and to Owa Ajibogun in other accounts. Both were said to be sons or grandsons of Oduduwa.

No genuine historical account affirms that Ile-Ife was ever under the protection of Ijesa. Oduduwa is widely agreed as the first Ooni. It is also widely agreed that Ooni is contracted from Oonirisa meaning "owner or custodian of the gods or dieties".

Sorry to say but the "Omo Oluwo ni" story is no more than a feeble and laughable attempt at revisionism.

Oduduwa was not an Ooni. He was the king.

The title Ooni started with Adimu. The son of a slave sacrificed to the gods. He was raised by Oduduwa and he became important in the royal household. And that was why he was placed in charge of the kingdom when Oranyan moved to Oyo.
The "Adimu" story is not supported by established historical accounts. It is highly unlikely that a slave would be elevated to Priest-King status and left in charge of an ancestral kingdom by Oranmiyan going by known Yoruba traditions and culture.

The Ooni is also known as "Arole Oodua" (heir to Oduduwa). It is therefore clear that Oranmiyan as a descendant of Oduduwa would be very unlikely to thrust a slave into the role of an heir to Oduduwa by installing the slave on the throne of Oduduwa.

The office of the Ooni is that of a chief priest the Ooni is not a king, the OOni is never superior. You are saying the opposite.
There is no historical support of the claim that Oranmiyan left Oyo to contest for Ooni of Ife as implied by Lere Olayinka.

There is also no historical support for any claim that Alaafin of Oyo was a subject of Ooni of Ife.

It is widely acknowledged historically that Oduduwa was the first Ooni of Ife and some historians also claim Oranmiyan was the 3rd or 4th Ooni of Ife before leaving for Benin Kingdom and then Oyo. There is no doubt that the Ooni of Ife role is a Priest-King.

However, to.claim that the Ooni of Ife was just a lineage of priests and not a descendant of Oduduwa does not align with the historically conduct and traditions of the Yoruba. It is very doubtful that the descendants of Oduduwa would be comfortable having a non-descendant priest sit on the ancestral throne of their father. The titles of Ooni Adimula and Arole Oodua ("Heir of Oduduwa"wink are difficult to explain from a non-descendant view point. While well known Obas tracing descent from Oduduwa have not generally ceded any superiority politically to the Ooni of Ife, they have nonetheless respect the Ooni of Ife as the Arole Oduduwa and custodian of their historical and cultural heritage. To think they would cede such important role to a non-descendant is irreconcilable with Yoruba historical conduct and traditions.

No Oba should be allowed to award titles that cover beyond their domain. Alaafin is king of Oyo, Ooni is king of Ife.
The Ooni of Ife is the custodian of Yoruba cultural heritage and regarded as the spiritual head of the Yoruba nation. That is the respect Ypruba people worldwide regardless of geography, have for him, with a believing Ile-Ifr as the ancestral home of Yorubas. He has the unoffi ial influence by virtual of his cultural and spiritual significance to the Yoruba nation, to appoint anyone to a role in the Yoruba nation.

On the other side, the Alaafin of Oyo has historically significance as the most powerful ruler in Yoruba history, with an empire spreading beyond Nigeria. However, that political influence has earned over the years and he is just a symbol of history. He does not resonate with the Yoruba nation the way the Ooni does. How many Yoruba in diaspora.amd across countries will invite Alaafin and to what purpose? He has no cultural or spiritual significance to the Yoruba nation.

That is a Governor's Special Assistant openly lusting after an unruly woman apparently from the exposure of her breasts. I would not be surprised if she is welcomed like a hero to her home State.

I don't know why people bend narratives without having to take holistic picture of the entire events.....

What do then call the air hostess who stood as a barrier restricting the lady from getting off the plane?
The air hostess blocked her purportedly to prevent her from.leaving before the Security Personnel arrive. Ms. Comfort may have grounds for claiming false imprisonment against the hostess or airline. She even has claims for them dehumanizing her because someone apparently dragged her blouse to expose her indecent and she was recorded and posted on the internet like that.

But on her side, Comfort made several errors like assaulting people repeatedly, damaging airline property and being generally violent and aggressive.

So the captain Kwam 1 poured some water/liquor on, it wasn't an assault?

Do you know what's an assault or can you tell me how the Nigerian law and constitution defines an assault?

I'm not a tribal bigot and don't play sentiments. None of those in the news are even my tribal people be it geographical location or State.
Firstly, there was no video evidence to corroborate the allegation that KWAM 1 poured water or liquor on anyone.
Secondly, I have stated that assaults are usually taken personal by the person assaulted and such persons typically drive resulting or consequential actions. In the Pilot case, it is apparent she decided not to escalate it or take it personal, assuming the allegation is true. In the Ms. Comfort Emmanson case, the assaulted people took it up. Assaulting security or Police Officers is typically a different ball game from general civilian.

As long as she switch her phone to airplane mode before the altercation started then ibom air are wrong
The issue of airplane mode may not be acceptable to the Airline and you have to respect that. With airplane.mode, while using the phone, you could directly or by mistake switch it from airplane mode when the air hostess is no more around. So they have to rely on your integrity to keep it on airplane mode. That is outside their control and ideally you try to mitigate all risks as much as possoble. Switching off is the best option.
