Yeah i really like the way u present ur point. Straight forward. Yeah zoo road is more organized than sharada phase 3. If u notice i didnt even mention sharada phase 1 and 2. My main focus is on phase 3. U may have worked there like u mentioned but i know lots of people who wont speak their languages in public, they may be playing safe coz if u ask them why, just like u noted about inferiority stuffs. I know students who dont get enrolled in primary schools coz of name barrier, some are allowed to retain their names but will have to dress and act like the people in that area.
. The naibawa u stay now has improved over the years coz in the 1990's naibawa went thru same thing.
All i did was point out places where such happens coz i didnt mention kano in general.

There are places in Kano that u cant speak any other language except hausa language in public.

All the non hausas i met there, south-westerners which was expected and easterners (never expected to meet them there) all speak hausa, their children goes to school in hijab, play with hijab, sleep with hijab. All because dey wanna feel among and worst of it, condition of living isn't that rosy.

If they were muslims, wont be a such a fuss, but Christians choke there and all tryna feel among been a member of the society.

Bros no vex o, I was born a Lagosian, raised and schooled in Lag. I was lucky to be invited to the north by a friend.
I later shifted my base to Kano in 2013 I stayed in Zoo road for 1year. Zoo road is more of Hausa place than Sharada phase 3 where I worked 3years. Sharada phase 1,2, 3, n chalawa are industrial areas with some visitors living around these areas bcoz of proximity to work.
No place in Kano even in villages u cannot speak any other languages. Although, may be becos of inferiority complex u may be shy to speak ur dialect. But no one stops u bro.
Hausas have their kinda characters that are so annoying but every other tribes have these features.
I stayed in S/Gari for 4years, but we the visitors don't like ourselves. We make life more difficult for ourselves.
My present location is Naibawa bro.

The Nigerian Customs Service, Kano/Jigawa Command, has impounded smuggled rice and beans worth over N12m in Kano. A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Malam Isa Danbaba, said, “Despite the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent measures put in place by the Federal and State governments in form of lockdown and closure of entry point, it is unfortunate that desperate smugglers take advantage of the situation and engage in devising all possible methods in order to smuggle rice into Kano.”

Danbaba said on April 15, operatives of Command intercepted a truck loaded with 295 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50kg each concealed under 351 bags of beans. “The Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seized rice is N6,603,870, and N6,000,741 for beans. The total amount of seized items is N 12,704, 611,” he said.

He added that the seizure was made between Dawakin Tofa- Dawanau- Katsina road. He quoted the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Nasir Ahmed, to have warned smugglers to keep away from Kano permanently, saying his officers and men were ready to hit the ground running at all tim
