These Superhero wànkers cannot explain why the same "non-general audiences" on Twitter bashed The Marvels, The Flash, Quantumania and they all flopped... Who are their so-called "general audiences". Do they exist in a vacuum or what? ![]() Oppenheimer and Barbie had cràzy social media promotion and they performed well... People were making edits all over social media...Twitter, Reddit, tiktok... They made these movies must-watch and everyone flocked to watch them... But apparently they are "not general audiences" |
Kaycee7:this is why you shouldn't jump into the middle of an argument without reading from the onset. Your question has been answered already. Stop behaving like a 🤡🤡🤡 |
abduleez1:I love how you are quick to call Attack on Titan as your escape tactics anytime you have no point in an argument Two of you combined have been dodging my questions like bullets since... Keep dodging like say na bullet 🤡🤡🤡 |
. |
GloriousGbola:There was noise from different sides... Supporters and defenders...stop making it seem as if everyone on social media was against it...all to fit your agenda... And you and your guy are yet to explain why The Marvels bombed or The Flash or Antman Quantumania bombed... Shebi it's only social media noise... ![]() The same social media that helped these movies bomb is the same social media that promoted Oppenheimer and Barbie...and made tons of memes about watching both... But apparently the "general audiences" are not on social media 🤡🤡🤡 I wonder where the general audiences exist then 🤡🤡 |
GloriousGbola:is Twitter also an echo chamber? ![]() |
abduleez1:nice of you run away with excuses lol ![]() |
abduleez1:As expected, you have chosen to beat around the bush once the holes in your argument have been pointed out. You have failed to properly explain why these so-called General audiences refused to watch movies like The Marvels, The Flash, Antman Quantumania, etc - The exact same movies that those you called "not-general audiences" bashed You have also failed to explain why it is the exact movies with negative outlook on Twitter, Reddit and other social media have ended up bombing. You have failed to explain how everyone knew The Marvels would bomb just because your "non-general audiences" said it would be terrible and not worth watching Several replies now by you, yet you have chosen to beat around and avoid these questions. |
abduleez1:You are contradicting yourself. You act as if the people on Twitter and Reddit are not part of the general audience. You use the word General Audience as if they are some special group of people who have no affiliation with movie discourse on any platform. You cannot compare Nairaland to Twitter or Reddit. Nairaland is a Nigerian forum and Nigeria contributes very little to global box office. Comparing that to Twitter or Reddit is quite funny. You are still yet to properly explain why the "General Audience" refused to watch The Marvels, Antman Quantumania, The Flash and co" If you say it's because The Marvels is female centric, then what about the other movies? Even your excuse of the movie being female centric or woke or whatever cannot fly because it is these same "non-general audiences on Reddit and Twitter" (according to you) that blast movies for being too female centric and woke... As you can see, you are vastly contradicting yourself. Whether or not you choose to admit it, these same people on Reddit and Twitter are part of the people who make up the actual general audiences and their views count. Their memes count, the backlash they give movies count. It was these same people that bashed the Netflix Cowboy Bebop adaptation that made it flop and Netflix cancel it.... But according to one abduleez1 on nairaland, they are not part of the general audiences ![]() It is funny how you somehow think all the backlash and memes of a terrible movie and a terrible CGI of The Flash all over Twitter did not affect the box office of the movie The fact is that even those who aren't very active in movie discussions, if everyone on Twitter is calling a movie a terrible waste of time, it affects their own perception and choice as to whether to watch it or not. Superhero Fatigue is a real thing...it should not even be up for argument... Until you can explain why your so called "General audiences not on Twitter and Reddit" refused to watch certain movies, then you should better admit it. When cowboy movies and other past movie genres were dying, copers like you also said it was "bad movies" that audiences were getting tired of and not the genre... Better stop coping and accept the fact that audiences are getting tired of your beloved Superhero movies. If you yourself are not tired of it, other people are tired |
abduleez1:As usual you refuse to believe in Superhero Fatigue. You talk as if these people on Twitter and Reddit are not part of the so called "General Audiences" that watch these movies. Is it not the same people who saw the trailers of The Marvels and concluded it wasn't worth their time? Is it not these same people who memed about The Flash and gave it bad publicity and memed about bad CGI and empty seats at cinema? The movie bombed now and you're claiming excuses. Tell me how your so-called "General Audiences" knew The Marvels would be bad. Are these people not the same ones who saw the trailer and decided it is not worth their time? If their opinion does not count, then how come The Marvels and many other CBM flopped? Whether you believe it or not, Superhero Fatigue exists and audiences are experiencing it You can cope all you want, but you cannot change facts. |
BlackManta:that Captain America looks like it will flop so bad... Just a guess |
BlackManta:the MCU will most likely follow the same generic script they've been using for years. With the X-Men being part of the MCU, they'll make it PG-13 and won't handle serious issues, just like the other MCU movies |
3 hours podcast discussing the Attack on Titan finale, it's themes, messages, takeaways, author's mindset, fans mindset etc... One thing they mentioned is how it seems like a lot of people who hated the ending have this immature way of thinking... About how these people self-insert themselves into characters...and how they failed to understand the author's story, intention and messages It's the only reason why they got angry because the war and conflict did not end... Just like how the people who idiolize Floch and call him "King Floch" do not even understand the essence of his character. Instead of understanding the characters or the author's messages, they create their own wrong view or interpretation of it and get angry when their headcanon is not confirmed... You can clearly see this in the so-called fan ending where these "fans" create their own "Alpha male edgy" version of characters, while completely ignoring everything the characters stood for throughout the series... Why I hate Titanfolk and will continue to see them as a bunch of immature kids who did not understand the themes or story they claimed they were once fans of... https://www.youtube.com/live/c5skjdzevgY?si=gOTI7Dg2VFcV3E8w |
Achilles100:had to rewatch the fight to follow it tbh... basically once you understand Mahoroga/Majora's powers, it becomes easier to follow the fight... |
abduleez1:Bro...the fact is that Superhero Fatigue exists... You want proof? I myself am proof of it already... And I know many people that are the same. They are burnt out by these movies cos they follow the same structure. A great way of fixing this is by subverting from the norm. A lot of Superhero movies troupes and structure are already tiring to the audience. The Batman works because it's more grounded...it didn't follow the usual format we see these movies follow. Same as why a Joker 2 movie will perform well. Because it is a Superhero movie that doesn't feel like one...as it doesn't follow the same overused structure and troupes... Guardians 3 and Spiderverse are movies with characters that the audience already resonate with before the Superhero Fatigue became a thing...and as such, the audience would follow the characters to their conclusion. Also, what I can assure you is that one guaranteed way of killing CBM is to focus on the MULTIVERSE. You should have seen comments when the news broke that Invincible S2 would explore the MULTIVERSE. Even on the subreddit they discussed how Marvel and DC had completely killed the concept so much that the regular audience hate that word. Luckily so far Invincible is handling it in a way that isn't exhausting. Regular Audience don't want to hear the word "Multiverse" |
BlackManta:I've said it before but some people will keep denying it SUPERHERO FATIGUE EXISTS!!! The recent bombs are a combination of Bad movies + Superhero Fatigue You can't keep recycling the same plotlines and expect people not to get fed up... Marvel needs to do a few things imo: 1. Reduce the amount of Superhero content they release 2. Increase creativity and stop following the same formula 3. Avoid anything that has to do with the word "MULTIVERSE" - this word is a timebomb that kills audience interest 4. Focus on character driven stories rather than the whole saving the world or universe crap - be more grounded and relatable |
armadeo:There are very few good movies these days... That's why I'm mostly into animation these days... Finding a good movie is super hard. Finding a good movie that fits my taste is even 10x harder. I'm just waiting to find a Korean movie/series that will fit my taste... Hollywood isn't doing it for me anymore... Just a few Hollywood movies that are worth watching |
armadeo:it doesn't need gore like The Boys... I like The Boys but I don't like the way it uses gore. The gore is just used as fanservice and to be edgy. Invincible applies gore in a better way. E.g the scene with Mark and Nolan, some scenes where Mark is trying to save civilians from an alien attack and fails... The gore is used to send a message, to develop characters, to show Mark how he can't save everyone etc... The Gore in The Boys is mostly used as fanservice just to show that the show is fûcked up... How many times do we need to see pènises explode? X-Men should not be PG-13 but it doesn't need to glorify gore. The old X-Men trilogy did not need to glorify gore to be mature. |

oyaskii:@ bolded It's so easy to tell nowadays the movies that are not worth our time and money... Everyone already knew The Marvels wouldn't be worth spending so much to watch... Same as everyone already knows Madame Spider won't be worth it... People would rather spend on a movie they are sure is worth the quality... But for Superhero content, I feel the best way is for it to deviate from the norm. People are tired of the same formulaic and predicatable superhero content... That's why people still love The Boys and Invincible, as they deviate from the norm... Imo, Marvel should abandon these nonsense they're doing with Kang and focus on the X-Men... But even with the X-Men they have to get things right...I feel like with X-Men there is more room to manuever in it's story...and even go dark... Unlike the happy go lucky comedic superhero movies they've been churning out The X-Men despite being superheroes don't really feel like them... |
CoolUsername:it was definitely better than Nocturne by far tbh Original Castlevania dropped in quality |
Box Office Report: "The Marvels" falls off 78% to 80% in its 2nd weekend to rank as Marvel Studios’ worst ever second-weekend drop of all time, as well as the worst for any Hollywood superhero movie Superhero Fatigue? Bad movies Fatigue? Or a mixture of both??
|
Them dey blast Merlin and Legend of the Seeker for Twitter... They said it has 0 rewatch value...that it's better to hold on to your childhood memories ![]() So many comments saying they made the mistake trying to rewatch it
|
GentleBosss:nah... Nocturne was not good... It only had good character designs, the writing was bad...the characters terrible... But season 2 might be better |
GentleBosss:This show is at worst a 4/10 and at best a 6.5/10 My opinion... But it was a huge downgrade from the original Castlevania series |
GentleBosss:I gave it a 7.5 or 7.8 too ![]() People have reasons for different ratings |
zoroby:this guy ![]() You get problem |
Man, I miss Chainsawman
|
zoroby:no problem I respect your opinion... Personally the only animated show I see on the same level as AOT is Legend of the Galactic Heroes. In my opinion, no other animated show whether japanese, Chinese or Western comes close... Then maybe Neon Genesis Evangelion and Monster. |
Has anyone started the Scott Pilgrim anime yet? I haven't seen the original movie...so my takes on it might be different |
