shut up there. Coward, just becos you want to please the comic nerds on this thread, you decided to change mouth. Same you that has been an anti CBM advocate for years. You can deceive ishilove, kaycee7 and that DC comics rat, you cannot deceive us. I hate pretenders. You are one of the foes of superhero films
Wetin be my business with these people when you mention?
Why would I want to please them?
Does it add money to my account?

I've made it clear before that Superhero Fatigue exists and I am seriously experiencing same...and I've been experiencing it for quite a while...

Just because I'm not a big Superhero fan does not mean I will support these Hollywood oldies who somehow think Superhero movies are entirely to blame for all their problems in Hollywood...

Every year Hollywood dey drop steady tràsh... Superhero movies or not...

I have avoided a number of Superhero movies this year...yet I've still seen several trash from Hollywood...in fact I mostly watch anime these days since Hollywood rarely produces anything worthwhile anymore....

See how they even used wokèness to destroy franchises...
Are Superhero movies to blame for that too?

And just so you know...there is a difference between Superhero movies/series and Comic book movies/series...

You can have movies based off comic books that aren't Superhero based...and I'm all for that as long as they are good...

Even the Superhero based ones, if it feels fresh rather than the same repititive cràp I'm all for it.

I'm a big fan of Invincible and The Boys which are both Superhero shows...

The Doom Generation (1995)....1/10

One of the most pointless movies I've seen this year.
The only reason I completed this movie was because the female MC was sèxy af...

This movie is so occultic, demonic and pointless...

How TF was this movie tagged as Comedy/Thriller?

There is nothing funny about it...the dialogue is made purposely to be as terrible and cringe as possible...

And you can't convince me the director of this movie isn't in some demonic cult...
Because I don't see who else this movie was made for

IT NEVER STOPS!!! 🙅🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

All these are just mere "cheap" talk. If audiences were concerned about quality, Killers of The Flower Moon would be grossing way better.
I feel these filmmakers main gripe is franchise films, but with CBM being in the rut and endless criticism from fans it's a easier target for these old time filmmakers to talk shït about and use as Scape goat.

Look at the most recent Scorsese movie, felt like barely anyone saw it and that had the might of Apple marketing pushing it with a hefty budget.

Also, it's funny how they keep asking these 60+ year olds what they think of CBMs. It's an age group thing. Anything for the clicks & rage baits I guess.
"No one would ask me what I think of rom coms...genres which I mostly hate & grew up in a decade where Jennifer Anniston, Julia roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Jlo shot to fame because of them."
I wouldn't be willing to go to a theatre to spend money to watch these movies but I streamed "No Hard Feelings" and "She Came To Me".
Gen Zs and Millennials don't give a fvvk about Westerns. That's why they died.

They all talk as if CBMs are all what studios produce. Just 8 superhero films a year against hundreds of other genres and this people cry as if that's the ONLY choice they got in 12 MONTHS!!
These filmmakers should wake the fvvk up and understand that the general audience are who determines what Hollywood produces. People vote with their money. So enough of these sob stories. It's like they're stylishly telling ppl we watch shït movies and just using "Superhero films" as a front.
cos I'm having a hard time understanding how they think studios would keep releasing these movies without the audience buying into them.

And when award seasons come around, how often do superhero movies win anything, let alone get nominations? Far less frequently than any other genre.
Sure, Marvel and D.C. movies make lots of money, but it still feels like superhero films are the black sheep of the industry. These ppl are just one annoying and snobbish set of people and they don't want to tell themselves the truth and are just PAINED.

And not enough blame is put on Oscar bait season where every studio dumps good movies instead of giving them good dates to grow and build momentum.
There's enough space for other movies and OPPENHEIMER proves it. It hit almost a billion alongside BARBIE. Superhero blame is a cop out.
While I'm currently experiencing serious Superhero Fatigue, I don't support this hate towards Superhero movies tbh...

These oldies just have this enclosed mentality...
They look at Superhero movies as kids stuff just because the source materials are comic books...

These are the same people who would call all animation kids stuff...

It's not like the other movies Hollywood has been churning out are any better btw...

Most are just "pretentiously deep" stuff...
Some are the same overdone wack action movies with recycled and tired plots like Expendables 4...

I honestly wonder how some people cope relying solely on Hollywood for media entertainment...

Explain to me how you didn't get the chance to feel anything but you were already thinking of an Invincible episode this weekend. I'm genuinely curious.
I knew someone would ask that when I typed it...

My feelings for Invincible were from S1...
Season 2 has had no impact to me...

So the hype and expectations for a new episode was because I wanted to see what S2 would cook

We might see her face next week...

Who else noticed that Hollywood no longer produce series with long episodes like them 24 and prison Break that had 20 something episodes in a season. This days you wait all year to get 8 episodes and if they are being kind you get 10 episodes. Suits, Supernatural, Prison Break, 24 I MISS THEM.
Because now there is less filler and less time-wasting and instead a focus on the point approach...

Before you would sometimes get 20 episodes where half of them are filler or episodic...

But with the attention span of the audience getting shorter, the shows are getting shorter and more straight to the point...

And also, people now prefer linear plot than the usual episodic ones we got back in the day

Sometimes I just think no idea in Hollywood can be new again, I don't know if anyone here gets what I am saying. like no matter what you write as a new movie, someone has probably written same thing before.
Not really. Or maybe partially true.

You can still write unique stories. Of course there can be some similarities with existing concepts but it's still unique...

The issue is Hollywood just doesn't take risks again. Nowadays it's the same rinse and repeat.

Compare to old movies that took risks...

I watched the Scott Pilgrim movie this weekend for instance...and what crossed my mind was how we don't get movies like that again...

Same feeling you get when you watch some older Hollywood movies...

Some of these movies were box office bombs back in their days but are so refreshing when you watch them now...

Present Hollywood does not want to take risks with new concepts...instead they'll splash 200m on the same old overused ideas

"Hear me, Subjects of Ymir. My name is Eren Yeager. I'm adressing my fellow Subjects of Ymir, speaking to you directly through the power of the Founder. All the walls on the island of Paradis have crumbled to the ground, and the legions of Titans burried within have begun their march. My only goal is to protect the lives of the people of Paradis the island where I was born. Right now, the nations of the world are united in the desire to exterminate my people, and it won't end with our island. They won't be satsified until every last Subject of Ymir is dead. I won't let them have their way. The Titans of the walls, will continue their march until every trace of life beyond our shores is trampled flat, and the people of Paradis are all that remains of humanity."

Oh really? Pray tell which tactics would you have employed? Because you have been shamelessly harassing people here with AOT content for months now and i believe some people on here are practically seeing Eren in their dreams by now..TF.

Trolling una. It means you have been "trolling" all these months and years, because if they search your handle with anything AOT related, it is a 98% match out of your entire post on NL. So it not just tonight that this "trolling" as you are calling it, started. It is borderline harrasment at this point. Nobody is telling you not to gloat about your fav show on an obvious public TV series forum, but it takes a sane man to discern gloating from been a total nut case all altogether.

lol Yeah, AOT is the template and most shows fail terribly at what it excelled at 😒😒... really?? You want to tell yourself this? Like how many shows have you seen to come to this nasty conclusion?? I repeat again, there are tons of shows to do it like AOT or even better, i have seen enough to know better but years of too much romanticising of the AOT lore has warped any shred of sane objectivity you would have had when comparing AOT to other shows, and that is clearly none of my business, my own is that you should hop of this "trolling" and stop being a nuisance.

By the way, what is going on with Hollywood?

It feels as if there is no worthwhile series to watch right now from Hollywood.

The only thing on my radar is MONARCH and so far opinions I've been seeing on it are split...from averagely good to pretty good

I haven't started it cos I fear it will be average and I don't wanna watch any average show

At the italicized... You've most likely described like 100 good shows who have had similar traits or even did it better than AOT. That's why most people on here are bursting your balls daily about your daily whinge about it and quite clearly it is becoming so cringe.

Most people would most likely be turned off from it thinking you are unnecessarily hyping it .

In all honesty, the show is over now, it's time to give it a rest and move on, or take your whining to a place where the discourse would be more appreciated.
if I wanted to make people watch it, I would go by another tactic...not this...

I was trolling...nothing serious smh

You probably didn't even notice I was using memes from the show "10 years at least" grin

And btw your statement is false...
Most shows that try to reinvent or switch up genre fail at it...

I watched season 1 of Attack on Titans February 2022 and never watched it again - boring asf! The only reason I went back in June this year was hype😏 but it was really good sha but it's still overrated
@ bolded....choose one now grin grin

Anyway, I made this comment today on Reddit and I think it's worth sharing:

Attack on Titan's ability to reinvent itself, continually changing it's genre while remaining consistent should be studied.

How the show went from a simple survival horror to implement supernatural events, centuries old conflicts, time travel, and even establishing itself as one of the best anti-war story....

It did all this all while getting better and better with each season. Most shows tend to fall off, but AOT somehow got better which each subsequent season...

The deeper you go, the more complicated it becomes...

And yet despite all these, the story was able to implement circular storytelling to perfection...

The amount of details in almost every scene, every conversation, almost every frame having a deeper meaning is something that should be studied...

It's a show where every little thing holds thematic meaning...

In AOT you'll see an entire thread of arguments dissecting the meaning of a leaf or flower...or a tree...
Linking the meaning of different scenes... because of the vast use of symbolism...

Almost every single sentence characters make are dissected to find the deeper meaning behind them...

Definitely deserves it's place among the best stories of all time 🤝

Lemme go start my download from animepahe .

Let me seek your opinion on this ..

Do you reckon i start all-over from animepahe or i continue from episode 9??
just continue...

Like I said you can't get those details on the first watch grin

You will understand the meaning of the title by episode 80 grin

you won't really notice the complexity till season 3...but you'll get it...

It's usually on a rewatch that you'll understand all those things you missed early on...

On rewatch you'll be shocked the amount of details just in episode 1 alone...not to talk of subsequent episodes...

It's a show that almost every detail was planned from start to end
