Since no one posted them... ATLA Netflix
|
Ishilove:everything is CGI in this movie...even the àss Wtf |
Kaycee7:I caught up to One Piece early this year... But I decided to wait again for it to pile up...cos that's what I'm used to |
oyaskii:I'll suggest the trick I used: It took me about 5 years to catch up, but you can do it in less than a year. Watch like 150-200 episodes at a stretch, then take a one month break...then repeat... You'll be going by arcs...most of the later arcs are like 100-150 episodes long |
phr0nesis:One Piece is great. Anime or Live action? Which you wan watch? One Piece has some of the craziest Foreshadowing and mystery... The world building is some of the best in fiction. I once showed here some posts about timeline of events in One Piece and it's crazy... So many events throughout thousands of years even before the present timeline of the show The Netflix adaptation is good but the goofiness is toned down |
oyaskii:I didn't really hate the last movie when I first watched it... Cos I wasn't an ATLA fan and I didn't care much about the source material then... But when I rewatched ATLA, I truly realized how bad the movie was ![]() I wonder how painful it would have been for fans who saw the movie after being fans of the animation |
zoroby:I simply asked why you said there was nothing good in the show Is that a bad question? Who cares about which show you prefer. You when no fit even defend your statement |
abduleez1:the One Piece production was more expensive than I anticipated... So it's obvious they had to cut expenses somewhere... The ATLA adaptation would obviously have a bigger budget and higher production quality cos it's more familiar to Western Audiences...so more viewers |
abduleez1:bro I can't forget the part where it took an entire squad of earthbenders to lift a small stone after dancing for 2 minutes ![]() They could have as well picked up the stone and threw it ![]() They are obviously gonna deviate from the sourcem material with Azula introduced so early... Dialogue shouldn't be a problem either. It's the delivery of the dialogue that matters... Honestly if they could pull off One Piece which was previously seen as impossible to adapt...then they should be able to pull off ATLA But the acting of the young cast is what worries me |
abduleez1:I don't know if it's just me... But the production quality looks even higher than One Piece |
abduleez1:the trailer was worth the wait guy... The only thing I'm wondering is why we were only shown visuals and not character dialogue considering it's not too long before it's released |
zoroby:but I watched Arcane. So what is your point? Wetin concern me with what you prefer? And I didn't talk shît about The Wire. Stop making me repeat myself |
abduleez1:Production quality looks really good... Okay, I definitely have high hopes for this |
abduleez1:was about to post it sef... You guys are too fast... E no even reach 7 minutes after e drop |
abduleez1:you said I was ready to talk shît about a show = I didn't talk shît about the show Maybe you're the ones who didn't understand what you typed E.g "You were ready to dance last week" = "You were ready to dance but you didn't dance" |
This is funny Sha... Someone came here to say there is nothing good about a show aside a certain character. I asked him what he said that... But apparently I committed a crime by asking him? If he really thinks so about the show...why not defend his statement? Not by force but it's basic issh to at least defend your statement |
abduleez1:you yourself admitted I didn't criticize The Wire Quoting you just now: "The same you that was ready to talk shït about a show iou haven't even watched and demanded reviews to tell you why you would like it??" Is this not clear admission I didn't criticize the show? You said I was ready to do so...but I didn't...I said I needed reviews to see why to watch it |
oyaskii:okay it's about AOT as you have said...no problem Secondly, did I force him to drop his reasons? I asked him to but he didn't... He refused to drop his criticism. He just said he's entitled to his opinion. I cannot force him to type however his opinion holds no water if he cannot defend it Thirdly, I have called people out for other shows... I recommended Mr Robot here and some people dropped bad ratings... When I asked them, all of them didn't say what was wrong with the show... I stopped recommending Mr Robot on this thread because of that... Finally, the same way people are free to drop random ratings or reviews...we are free to ask them why. If you criticize something, you should be able to defend it if called out. No be today I don dey enter arguments with people about criticism here. If you can't defend your point, then it's worthless to anyone here... If you say Oppenheimer is 2/10 and we ask you why and you cannot say anything, it's either you didn't understand it or you have no point. Simple... It's not about AOT, I have people I argue both it's strength and weaknesses with...And we both bring points |
Omo JJK episode today was fire 🔥🔥🔥
|
Anyway, I just remembered that my AOT criticism + plotholes thread is still coming... I need to wànk AOT finale for 1 week first before I post that... |
oyaskii:It's not even about AOT. When people attacked other shows like Mr Robot...I said the same thing... This thread is for series discussion... If you say a show is bad and I think otherwise, I can as well ask you why you think so... Most of the time I trash on series or movies or even normal criticism that I gave The Fall of the House of Usher...did I not outline all my criticisms? I rated it highly but still outlined many problems in it. Some people defended it but I also pointed out more issues I didn't like with it...and they also helped clarify some stuff from the source material... Someone here trashed on a show...is it wrong for me to ask him why he said that?? If tomorrow I watch Oppenheimer and say it's bad... Is it wrong for you to ask me why I think so? And that way I can outline my reasons and we discuss For me, if you say a show is bad and you cannot defend your words when called upon for it...then that is weird |
abduleez1:did I shît talk The Wire? I didn't review or say The Wire was good or bad... I said I had checked several reviews hoping for a reason to propel me to watch it...but saw nothing that propelled me to watch it... The Wire is not the kind of show I'm into (from the little I know)...that is why I needed a reason to watch it... I did not tràsh on The Wire. Your yourself admitted I didn't... So how can you compare the situations |
WriterNig:I haven't seen the movie but I'm curious.... Have you even rated a movie or show 10/10? Curious cos your rating system always feels weird. It's almost as if you are looking for perfection from a medium where perfection cannot exist |
oyaskii:while I agree that art is subjective...I believe there is some level of objectivity to it. A show like Breaking Bad for example is objectively good...what is subjective is how good it is .... Everyone is entitled to their opinion of a show...but others are also entitled to call them out for it... And to ask them to defend that opinion If you say Breaking Bad is a terrible show, then you should be able to defend that statement... Same way if you say there is nothing good in AOT aside Mikasa, you should be able to defend that statement That's my opinion on this matter |
zoroby:sorry but this excuse doesn't fly. If you watched Breaking Bad and said it was the worst show ever and is at most a 1/10 show... Do you think you wouldn't be called out for it? |
Me pretending to be surprised 🌚
|
BlackManta:difference is Oda supervised One Piece and even set boundaries not to be crossed. Every change they made had to be sanctioned by Oda His rule 1 was even to avoid any romance between crew members. On the other hand, the original producers for Avatar left the production for creative differences... |
abduleez1:On the choices, it shows the consequences of choices made decades ago... How a simple choice they made then shaped their lives and their generation. At that time, they had overlooked it...or rather underestimated it's consequences... Or how much suffering those consequences would bring forth to them and their loved ones... The only issue to me at that point is that because they didn't fully understand how serious that choice was, you could argue that they were manipulated... You could argue they made an innocent decision because at that point, despite what they experienced, they never fully believed the woman they met that night. It was a strange encounter to them... |
Details like these are the reasons I tell people to watch AOT at least 2 or 3 times... You cannot appreciate the show well if you haven't seen it like thrice. I saw it several times but didn't notice this till someone pointed it out on twitter The attention to detail man... It will be very hard for any show to ever beat Attack on Titan for me
|
Baddestguyp:funny how these are just like 1% of the foreshadowing in the story |
