Achilles100:1. This was stated by characters in the show. However the show portrayed a different thing. The prosecutor had them steal confidential documents to take down the company. Using illegal means of photocopying confidential documents by sneaking late at night...all just to build up a case. That is not the letter of the law 2. I don't have too much of a problem with 2 as I stated earlier...it does happen in real life where konji makes people make the most sîlly decisions 3. I don't think this flies as an excuse for that level of unbotherness. If 3 members of their family die in a week...there is serious cause to worry. Even if they hate or don't regard them, it is normal for humans to worry when deaths surround them suddenly and in a short span of time. It didn't end at 3 deaths,...it went to 4,5 and 6... Even by the 5th death, the last sibling didn't seem to care or be worried. That is highly unrealistic no matter how much drugs he takes. 4. For this. I think the prosecutor made a very silly decision based on the circumstances and their relationship. He had no reason to trust someone who seriously played him before and almost cost him his career. The same person who he knows has a Hitman on his payroll. Same person that he knows has committed so many murders and gotten away with it...same person who has caused the death of thousands or millions worldwide without a care in the world. And same person who he suspects is now mentally unstable due to losing his 6 children in the span of 2 weeks...and had a viable reason to blame him for it (based on the prosecutor's knowledge, not the audience) The prosecutor could believe it started when he said there was an informat among the siblings |
Baddestguyp:Also, the Final trailer of Attack on Titan is coming tonight. I think it's around 2am or 3am in Nigerian time I'm staying awake for it. Hopefully it will be around 2 minutes long... But I don't see how they will make a trailer without massive spoilers to be honest. Literally anything they show will be massive spoilers... The episode will be just 1 hour 25 minutes long

The Fall of the House of Usher.... 7.8/10 Horror genre. Great story. They paid the price for a deal they took long ago. Forty years. The title already gives away the plot so there isn't much to say about it. The issue I complained about earlier was the choice to sacrifice characters for the story. The Usher family were not geniuses that much is clear. Even a member of the family said that they didn't do anything themselves...they simply paid people to do things... Some of them called the fact that they got away with things "power"...some called it "luck"... But in reality it was a deal made years ago... However, even before the deal, Roderick and his sister were pretty smart. They had played some smart cards...and who knows, they might or might not have gotten away with it... But they didn't take their chances...they took the deal. My issue with the characters stem from the fact that they made weird decisions even though we the viewers know it won't change their fate. And it kept bugging me... especially cos I look at stories from different perspectives One of that was how seriously they took the prosecutor's bluff. It was literally the most obvious bluff either. Even a 10 years old child would be 90% sure it was a bluff... But Roderick and his sister who were shown to be smart even before the whole deal...somehow took it so seriously that they put a bounty on it... I mean, there's literally no benefit to a snitch...the prosecutor would never reveal that in his opening address too if it was real... And with all their connections, they would have found out the snitch if it was real... Yet they somehow fell for it hook, line and sinker... I've outlined the whole issue with the picture so I won't repeat myself. The iish with the wife who chose to go to a public "exclusive indeed" party to fûck her husband's boyfriend in public also bugged me. It bugged me that someone could be that stûpid but well...I have to admit it's possible even in real life for people to actually be that stûpid... I'll stop here cos I chose not to spend too much time outlining sîlly decisions from characters... But the show did try to spin things as the Characters being stûpid cos of pride and belief that they were invincible...but it was weird... The children were always on drugs but still not îdiots. One even had a knack for investigating and finding secrets.. It was especially weird how unbothered all the children were when their siblings kept dying. It doesn't matter that they don't like each other. Even a fôol can tell something is going on when several of his siblings keep dying to "accidents" in the span of a week But somehow the children all waved it off and never acted bothered. Ah let's not forget the prosecutor that went to meet a man he's spent his years trying to convict. Someone he knew he and his family had committed many murders over the years. I'm sure it's pretty smart to go meet him alone in a secluded house very late at night because he said he wants to confess. So he won't confess at the office...it's that sort of environment with you alone that he would confess... Considering his reputation and how his family is falling apart he could go mad and kill you. Or even do it blaming you for the death of his children. Ah...but it doesn't matter...he wants to confess so I will go there alone Clear case of prioritizing the story and message so much well over the realism of the characters Still a pretty good watch tho. And it's clearly horror...unlike what some people claimed on this thread

oyaskii:Again...finished the show... And what you wrote about her not actually being there is false. I don't know what is in the source material...but in the show she is actually there... I'll explain. First, she was seen by the waiters at the first party. They literally interviewed them and they said she spoke to them and told them to leave and somehow they all felt compelled to leave. That means she took physical form. The camera footages showed her. Pictures were taken of her. The camera footages were enhanced by a team of experts meaning they could see her. If she was only an illusion the family could see, people outside the family wouldn't see her. Even the security company checked the images and said she's not their staff and that they don't employ female guards They found images of her on the internet with several powerful families decades ago... This means she was there in physical form. Even the detective caught a glimpse of her. Verna represents Karma yes...but she certainly was there in physical form. That's why she could even physically alter things...and that is why she could be seen on cameras by people who were not part of the Usher family. So it is a fact she took physical form and not just appears as an illusion |
oyaskii:so you are admitting that the characters suffered for the story? That so many characters made idiôtic decisions for the story? Great. We finally agree on something |
oyaskii:Again and again, you keep ignoring my point and running round the bush... Do I have to speak Yoruba or Chinese or Spanish for you to understand my point? I'm talking about character decisions and not the story... The characters are all acting so stupîd... Let me finish the show, because of you I'll make a full post on character decisions in the show starting with the most obvious bluff of a snitch in the family |
For the last part of your post, I will ignore that since I haven't finished the show... However my point stands on character actions making absolutely no sense. The themes are the character choices are completely different. I'm talking strictly about the character choices when faced with this disaster... |
oyaskii:you again are missing the point. I'm not saying warning them would change anything. I said it's basic precaution. As at beginning of Episode 5, where I was when I made that post, they were unsure of what she was. It's all about perspective. They thought she was a relative of the woman they met 40 years ago. It was at episode 6 they were sure that it's the same person when they saw pictures dating back on 1901 We the viewers know that sending out her pictures wouldn't change anything... But as at then, the characters did not know that... This is the part that for some reason you refuse to comprehend... It is called perspective At the time of 2 and even 3 deaths, they thought she was someone simply trying to destroy them and they put out a hit for her. I'm talking episode 4 and early episode 5 At that time the rational thing to do was send her pictures to warn them...but they did not and it made absolutely no sense Your problem is that you are looking at it only from your perspective as a viewer and not as characters... When watching a movie or a show you are meant to look it things from two perspectives... 1. An independent viewer who has overall knowledge 2. The perspective of characters... How can you evaluate a character or their choices if you don't look at issues from their perspective? I'm tired of explaining basic things to you... The fact is that their actions as characters make no sense... Yes we as viewers know that there was nothing to be done that would have stopped this...but the characters do not know that... And that is why the characters have been making awful decisions... The decision making of these characters have been nothing but utterly stûpid... |
Achilles100:what does understanding have to do with the fact that they refused to do the logical thing by sending her pictures? It's common sense. Whether or not it prevents their deaths, it doesn't matter...the logical thing to do is to warn them... Unless they have a reason not to warn their children and they want their kids to die. Deaths being supernatural doesn't change the fact that they shouldn't do what any reasonable person would do |
Anyway, continuing my countdown 9 days to go before peak ends... Still no trailer...wtf
|
Again, I am not saying the show is bad. I am enjoying it... But I find it frustrating when characters fail to do something common sense dictates. People are dying, your only connection is a woman you met 40 years ago. You even put out a hit on her... But you don't warn the ones alive to stay off her ![]() Make this make sense please. It doesn't matter if she killed them or not. She's suspicious to you so much that you even put out a hit on her. But you cannot warn your kids? As a result, she continues to make contact with the ones alive |
oyaskii:your problem is that you jump to conclusions. I am paying attention, but you failed to read what I wrote. Asking me to read the source material is funny. So I must read the source material to acknowledge that some characters are acting stûpid? It's not about whether she killed them or not. The deaths appear to be accidental/supernatural but the father and his sister have made a connection to her. She made contact with all 3 siblings just before their deaths. She posed as a guard to a lab when she was not on the list. She has been snapped, captured by cameras etc. The father and sister have even put out a hit on her cos they traced her to a bartender they met 40 years ago... They even specifically asked for her eyes to be plucked out and brought to them. But somehow they did not think to at least warn their remaining kids alive by sending them her pictures? Yes, they don't wanna talk about that night in 1980 but they don't have to. Just send her pictures and warn them. That's super obvious. That doesn't change the fact that the deaths seem supernatural... But common sense dictates you warn your children to stay off her first. The Characters not doing that is pure stûpidity that only exists in TV shows but never in real life |
Watching The Fall of the House of Usher. I'm at episode 5 and I'm wondering why TF they have not sent the picture of that woman to all members of the family that avoid her. How can two people die and the only connection is one weird woman that approached them and you still haven't sent the picture to the rest of the family. The third one has died now...and they have more and more clear pictures and still won't send it. Instead they simply just added a security guard to stay outside their houses. TF is this? Are people this stûpid in real life? Cos now a Fourth person has been in contact with the same woman for about a week and they don't know... If they had sent the picture since, they'll know and try to avoid |

blingxx:for the second part of your post. Here is my understanding of it. Even though the entire show took place in a simulated universe, the real world existed millions of years ago. And that simulation is based on events of the real world...I believe Here lies the problem. Safesurf and it's relationship with Caspian. Safesurf apparently created these simulations because Caspian helped it evolve millions of years ago. In the real world, why did Safesurf suddenly start listening to Caspian in the first place. It was literally sent to destroy UIs. Why Caspian of all people? Why was he able to communicate with it in the real world...not the simulated reality... How did Safesurf, an entirely online program that can't even access offline servers suddenly evolve to the extent it can survive in space. Christopher Nolan uses mind fvcks but doesn't come up with random bûllshit at the end. He properly leads up to it. He leaves hints, clues etc to show it was his intention from the start. Same as Neon Genesis Evangelion as I mentioned earlier. There were enough hints for the human instrumentality project in NGE. Enough hints about the world so the late mind fûcks fit in...and made sense In Pantheon S2, there was nothing...just some random bûllshit at the end that made no sense. Worst still they didn't conclude plot points before these. They just abandoned them midway |
blingxx:I literally stated it in my post that they had flaws. So what are you saying. Read what I wrote again I stated that once the flaw was removed they had absolutely nothing blocking them anymore since their abilities were based on imagination. Before they couldn't use much power cos of the flaw. Now they can't use much power cos of safe surf? The problem however is that a power based on imagination is unbeatable. There is literally no way to beat someone who can imagine anything without any flaw stopping them so the battles felt pointless since even the villain should not have been defeated as his flaw was removed Without the flaw even Safesurf should have been beatable easily The last part was the worst. How did Safesurf evolve into that You can't just use the term self-evolving program to explain how it went so powerful to be able to create multiple simulations of the entire universeLest I forget, this same Safesurf was a totally online program that couldn't access offline servers...this was why they were always hiding in offline servers the avoid it. But now it somehow went into the Galaxy and found other lifeforms and evolved to the point it can create universes and make multiple simulations of these universes? An online program ![]() |
Pantheon season 2.....6/10 It lost the plot. Most of the season wasn't bad...but wasn't great either. It was just mostly boring. Fell asleep many times in the first few episodes. The season picked up later on. Some parts of the writing were good, some parts made no sense. Then the last two episodes were a clusterf*ck. The writers decided to try out every random idea whether it made sense or not. And yeah, most of it was total nonsense. In fact the last two episodes made it apparent how nothing made any sense in the entire season. Want to resolve plot points? Don't worry, just time skip and say it's all resolved in the future...wtf Present day, there were protests about the internet being shut down. Even with "evidence", many people doubted the veracity of Uploaded Intelligence. But apparently all it took was a random video of a fight scene that occured in the cloud and some random 20 years time jump for everyone to not only fully believe in Uploaded Intelligence, but also half the world is suddenly on board and has uploaded. In fact, not uploading is seen as stale They didn't doubt the video even though they doubted earlier ones? Yeah right. Sounds like primary school writing. What exactly are the limits of abilities in the cloud for UIs that have been cured of their flaw?? Wasn't it supposed to be based on imagination? This is a completely shiit power system that makes no sense. There has to be limitations and the flaw was the limitation. A UI without the flaw is literally unbeatable since it's based on imagination and with no other limitation. There are a billion things you could imagine with no limitations. And where TF did the "sister" come from? The bullshît explanation offered in the show made absolutely no sense. And yeah, it could somehow cure every UI of the flaw. I won't even go into the last two episodes where a random human is now able to create an entire universe in a simulated universe. A few days ago, while avoiding spoilers, I saw a post with some people on the subreddit comparing this show to Neon Genesis Evangelion but I disagree. NGE was always consistent. Even from the start where it "seemed more grounded", it still offered a lot of hints which ultimately revealed the truth about the world and how humanity began...the Angels and all. Pantheon just shoehorned random bullshît at the end and barely offered explanations that made sense. Yeah and apparently the entire show took place in an alternate/simulated universe made by Safesurf...lol How did Safesurf even evolve to that extent? Safe surf was a self-evolving virus or program. All of a sudden it decides to suddenly go after humans because of "insert random timeskip" and explain that humans are now a threat to it. And this program can now somehow leave the entire planet, go off into space and the Galaxy and find alternate lifeforms in alternate universes? This same program/virus can now create unlimited simulations of events that occured millions of years ago. And for what purpose exactly? Zero consistency
|
Jarchi:hate to say it but you were right. They lost the plot in season 2. The last 2 episodes it was like the writers just went high and started putting every random idea that came to mind when they smoked w**d |
