Imo NARUTO is good from the start, but I think it really picks up from around episode 20...

The episodes are 20 minutes long so it isn't as long as you think...

Without fillers you're getting about 400+ episodes of 20 minutes each

Afternoon, as a fan of action series and movies... I think I've watched almost all the action series available... I mean the finished action series... Because I don't like to watch some episodes and then wait for few weeks or months waiting for the next episode to come out... So I've watched literally every action series including the Korea series... Just busy asking people around to recommend a action series to download and someone mentioned NARUTO.. Firstly it's animation... I've never watched anything animation before... Secondly the episode is over 700..
The first Naruto of the year 2002 is around 200 episodes... The second Naruto which is Naruto shippuden is around 500 episodes... Kinda weird and long... But I believe some people here might have watched everything... Please i just want some reviews on it.... Before I start burning data on over 700 episodes animation series... Tnx

Legendary anime

Was watching FMA brotherhood and this struck me.
Ed was constantly criticized for sticking to his ideals of not killing even his enemies...
He was warned severally that this ideal would cost him...

And it did. He was fatally wounded.

The way the show handled it was that Ed's no kill ideal cost him and left him on the brink of death...
But this same ideal is what struck some of the enemies he saved to at least help him

Ed paid for his choice to not kill Kimblee but this same ideal of choosing to save rather than to kill ended up saving his life. It's basically showing how his ideals of saving instead of killing could cost him but could as well save him

It's a very simple concept that works well...


It reminded me of another show and how it handled this same scenerio poorly, so I might have to take a dig at this other show

This show is Avatar the Last Airbender. Aang had a choice whether to kill Ozai and save the world or to leave Ozai alive and but the fire nation ends up plunging the world to war again.

How did ATLA handle this issue? ---- By simply pulling out an àsspull power from nowhere
Aang suddenly knew how to take away bending abilities... something never introduced in the series until before ..

This was a terrible way of handling a theme. Watching it reminded me I was watching a kids show where instead of tackling the issue, the writers ran away from it.

Being in a fix as to whether to stick to a kill or no-kill ideal and suddenly a random power appears to fix the issue. The writers chickened out so bad imo. Things don't work like that. A random power up does not just appear to fix a complex moral issue

Typing this reminded me of a similar issue in the same show where Aang and his crew met two villages who had been in war for 100s of years over a simple misunderstanding..
The way Aang and his crew resolved it was by simply hearing the two accounts of what started the wars and informing both sides about the misunderstanding and the need to talk it out

Again a terrible exploration of the concept of War and hostility. War can escalate from even the smallest misunderstandings, but simply realizing that it started from a misunderstanding can never solve the issue
The reason is because both parties have lost so much over the years...they've lost brothers, sisters, friends etc...

At that point, the cause of the war only matters a little, it's the scars it leaves that makes it hard to burn out that hostility.

FMAB has an issue where the Isbalan started cos of a third party's actions. Simply realizing that the war was manipulated is not enough to cure the scars and make parties settle their differences

I stopped back then to pivot and have time to watch other shows. Since then I haven't been able to go back. I was pretty much addicted to the show back then.

I still have it on my plans. Just need to clear off the anime on my list and these new shows JJK and Rorouni Kenshin. I'd also go back and finish Death Note.

Lol, MAPPA's animation artist are one of the most overworked in the world.

Even Hollywood CGI artists wey dey cry say Disney wan kill dem dey learn work where MAPPA dey. while earning far lesser.

Hollywood CGI artists are lazy af...same as their comic writers...

Look at Japan, most are on weekly schedule...dropping chapters every week

Their animators for shows like One Piece dropped episodes weekly for 27 years...

MAPPA have so many shows on their hands and are able to produce quality animation that is HAND-DRAWN

Compare it to Invincible that wasted 3 years working on nothing and yet didn't improve the animation...despite being CGI

You're not. A lot of people called out the folks bashing the animation. Verdict across the board was that the composition was off in some scenes but most faults were only if you were looking for it. Nothing that would majorly stand out.

anime fans nowadays usually analyze every frame to look for something to complain about...

Just 1 second of small issue and they'll tag the entire adaptation as terrible animation... especially the dedicated MAPPA haters...

Just see the the JJK season 2 page on MAL after the peak animation in episode 3...

If they see 1 second of CGI, they call it bad animation...
MAPPA used Rotoscope in episode 1, they called it bad animation...
Even one small 3 second scene of 3D footsteps, someone on Twitter made a long thread analyzing 3 seconds of animation and how it's the worst thing ever

you're not alone, I use a Samsung LCD phone screen and I can tell that the quality of both Animes were top notch.
I've seen quite substandard anime quality like Hunter X Hunter and Seven deadly sins but those 2 were crisp. Hell's paradise didn't suffer from poor animation.

Although many people did...usual anime toxic fan iish where they analyze every frame to look for something to complain about


What I said is that it wasn't the kind of quality expected of MAPPA...
It's animation was not as fluid
