erico2k2: Oga sir, my suggestion is to follow what obinoscopy said earlier.. if you are able to renew your passport while in Nigeria, please do it even if you don't have the renewed passport, have documentation that proved that you have initiated the process. That I saw oga at the top doesn't mean anything exchanged hands.. after much preaching from the oga how they are trying to make Nigeria better etc.. he said he will let this slide because I was not doing ' big man, do you know who I am" that I was conversing with him in a calm voice and explaining my situation.. they know there was passport scarcity at the time but they still want people to make an effort to do the right thing that's why the paperwork that proves the process was done will suffice. Abeg, let's leave big grammar aside.. please if you are able to renew it in Nigeria, do it otherwise they could frustrate your movement and you might miss your return flight. See screenshot from U S department of state website..

YinkaOlusesi16: Our problem in this country is mismanagement of our resources. Our brothers and sisters outside of the country repatriated more money than the national budget for many years in a row now. So basically if the national budget is 1m, our families abroad repatriated 1.2m extra making it 2.2m But our politicians can't stop looting.. they relooted Abacha's returned Loot.. No project of substance.. we don't have 24hrs power supply... our road networks are bad.. our school systems from primary to tertiary is bad.. Multinational companies are leaving the country. When you need to pay your kids school fees abroad or your supplier in China.. Bank tells you they don't have any dollar but direct you to BDC. You go to BDC and buy dollar to deposit in the "bank" . The bank turns around and sells that dollar to BDC and the circle continues. Now tell me, why can't we just walk in our bank and request for a wire transfer and the bank deduct the money in naira and wire the money to the respective recipient abroad? It's not like our bank will carry that cash we deposited to go and deposit the cash abroad .. they still conduct the transaction electronically? So why don't they conduct the transaction electronically from the get go instead of the merry go round with the BDC? Kidnappers will kidnap someone and collect ransom via wire transfer or have the victim empty their bank account to the kidnappers account.. The police find it hard to track the kidnappers? Why can't the police work with the telecom companies to track the cell phone of the victim and the kidnappers? Why can't the police trace the bank account that received the ransom and arrest the owner of the account? People are missing daily but police can't work with telecom company to track their cellphone.. check their last few calls and text and query the last individuals the victim communicated with to get some lead. A politicians will loot and just share bags of rice during election and people come online to praise them instead of demanding good governance. Politicians will share Okada as empowerment during election then ban Okada when they are sworn in. We all know what's right in this country but will not do it. 11 Likes |

Why can't the security agencies utilize the available resources to track down this criminals?? This criminals will empty the wife's account and the police still can't track them down.. Even with all the NIN registration, linking bank accounts to NIN, the police still will find it hard to pick up the person that owns the account that received that money and follow the leads to lead them to the culprits.. When are we going to get things right in this country?? 50 Likes 1 Share |

We know what is right in thus country but won't do it.... Saudi Arabia have billions of oil reserve more than Nigeria but in the past 10 years, they have been aggressively diversifying thier portfolio and investments to avoid total reliance on oil. In addition to this , the Nigerian government does turn blind eyes where there's an obvious room for improvement like the over reliance of dollar. Yesterday We heard from former deputy governor of Kano state that BDC is unregulated sector, CBN doesn't know what is going on there.. they pick up money from the government house with bullion vans in broad day light.. When one go to pay their kids school fees or their supplier abroad.. they bank says they don't have dollar and give them BDC agent to contact to buy the dollar.. The customer comes back to the bank to deposit the dollar purchased from BDC .. then the bank turns around to sell the dollar to the BDC and the circle continues.. Why can't customers just walk into their bank and initiate the wire transfer? Their bank withdraw the money from their account in naira and transfer abroad at an official rate? It is not like the bank will pack up the cash and travel to China to deposit the money in bank of China, the transaction is done electronically. So why then do customers need to go to BDC to buy dollar to deposit for the transaction Abachas loot, what did the government do with the money? Had they targeted that the Abachas loot would be used to enhance the power sector and national grid to make sure the country has sustainable 24hr powers supplier that would inturn decrease the cost of doing business and create more employment.. But no, they listed big big name white elephant project for the money all to reloot the loot.. |

Politics / Re: Inflation To Fall In 2024 — CBN Governor, Cardoso by Badgers14: 3:23pm On Jan 24 |
Inflation does not fall just by releasing media statements.. Action, Action... what are they doing to bolster the economy?? Why the overdependecy in "dollar"? I still can't understand why when someone need to pay their supplier in China, their children 's school fees or medical bills abroad.. they have to go to BDC to "buy" dollar and then come and deposit the dollar in a bank to effect the transfer? It's not like the bank will carry the money cash to deposit to bank of England or bank of China or bank of India.. the transaction is run electronically so why can't individuals just go to their bank and conduct a Wire transfer at an official rate.. their bank deducts the money in naira from their account and wire the money to the intended recipients abroad?? 14 Likes |
