Yes, small scale suppliers here pay trailers ferrying cattle to intended locations to deliver. Those trailers you see no be sey na one man's cattle them dey carry always. That's why you see some cows marked with paint or markers to identify who has them. But this model works best between steady suppliers and retailers.

Good to know.. thanks for the insight..

So when the trailer lands.. the receiver will bring their own rope to carry the cow abi?

I'm in far away Bauchi where they are even cheaper, and I for say mek we run this business but trust issues go be the albatross.

Just curious, would you waybill the full cow to the guys location?

I am just wondering how that would have worked since you are located in Bauchi (trust issue aside).

Oga spyder long time.. please can a hotel fit in 100 by 100 land? Like 20 rooms. I want to start that project soon by God grace..

Lastly , filling station or hotel, which is more better in terms of business ?.
Thanks for everything. I expect a response, thanks

Wehdone sir/Madam.

For me, I wouldn't personally invest in either of the business.

Why?

Filing station, many times we look that from the perspective of "oil money" .. but that doesn't really translate to profitability..

I was around a bar one time staying close to my bottle and overheard people's conversation, one has filling station.. he was regretting venturing in the business and that's was surprising to me..

Then I started talking to people, hmm.. the politics involved in the filing station business no be here..

They say some people make money by buying fuel from "local refineries " instead of sourcing from the official channel.

Some filling station make money also by adjusting the meter.. so when one buys 5 litter, they are actually pumping less than that..

Etc.etc

With filling station, they are typically a bit hard to resell or repurpose for a different use.

Not forgetting, the cost of construction is quite enormous.

Lastly, I just don't think it's a good business (personally speaking)

Hotel: profitable, maybe but I just don't like the business.. I haven't seriously looked at the analysis of it from the business angle but I think it's very saturated now ( your area might be different).

The management etc , I feel it's not just for me.

But between the 2, I would grudginly vote for hotel because it's less stress compared to filling station.
They are usually easier to sell than filling station.

You could repurpose your hotel and rent it out as tenant house if you want.

Recall, in every business, there outta be an exit strategy.

Good luck

Gotcha fam. Thank me later.

How many people does the brewery employee?

How much taxes do they pay to the government per year?

Isn't the brewery still functioning??

That tells you right there that the $30m was not a waste..

Perhaps not the best investment, but still better than if Peter obi stole it or initiated a white elephant project that is currently abadoned.

Whether he built a brewery or a refinery.. the important thing there is what is the return on investment?? What if he embezzled the $30m.

Some state government past and present have invested more than $30m in a white elephant projects that are not even completed up till date and if completed.. does not add any value to the state revenue..

Aside from the Onana - Dalot miscommunication, Manutd have been very organized (more than their last few games).

Bruno is not all of the field like before, they are using more of the wings.

A bit of improvement from last time out.
Politics / Re: Japa: 9 Reasons For Visa Rejection At The US Embassy by Badgers14: 2:09pm On Apr 23
panpan:
What is disheartening are the non-refundable fees that the applicants pay for a visa refusal.

It is obvious that the United States embassy and consulates are being maintained by visa application fees. As long as the money keeps flowing in, they will continue this mode of operation. Who would reject a "business" of making over N50m each working day?

What can we do?

If a foreign entity snubs you, you may snub them back. Only apply for a US visa if it is very important to you and there is no other option. Boycott the US visa application if possible.

Consider the US visa application as a gamble; only pay the application fees with money that you can afford to lose (in other words, money that you do not need for anything else).

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), agents and lawyers, who are involved in immigration issues may start a campaign against US visa applications. Let the general public be sensitized against wasting hard-earned money on a foreign entity, especially when there is no positive result.

The new U.S consulate in Eko Atlantic is one of the most expensive consulate the U.S have worldwide.. how do you think they were able to commit that kind of money there?

Yes, it can be used for multi storey floors.

It's a matter of structural design, the frame is designed to resist the lateral loads while the slabs can be rib slab and this type of block can be used.

Thanks for your clarification.

I would rather do what you did than use all those common shine shine tiles. I have seen the real outdoor tiles and I definitely know that nothing they have in Nigeria comes close to it.
This is from a place I went to today .
The real thing to do is using natural stones that are cut into regular tiles shapes.
In Nigeria because there are no property insurance, people just do whatever. No insurance would cover any house with such outdoor floor because it’s a big liability.

A friend did that shine shine outdoor tiles and I was not even amused by it, I was shocked to see that. Like man what thinketh thou ? He said ehn ehn so people will know he has arrived, and he has no business with reptiles crawling in his compound.

I understand that's his house and all but his reasons got me shaking my head.. I guess why should we care about human safety, slip and falls etc?

This is a guy that have journeyed Europe and have seen those exterior tiles that lasts for thousands of years... easy to maintain too..

For the reptiles there's many natural solutions to that, introduce plants that they don't like in your compound etc..

This is precast rib slab construction. I'm planning to start providing this service in Nigeria

It has lots of advantages like, it being cheaper, it's faster and it's as sound as the rigid slab normally adopted in Nigeria.

Also, you can achieve the required strength for the rib beams because they can be properly cured.

One major disadvantage is that its joints need to be properly designed especially for areas prone to seismic activities.

I hope you guys will patronize my smart_slab solution

Is there a limit to using this precast slab?

Like can one use it in multi storey buildings like say 3 to 4 storey?

I have seen this trend in east African buildings but they are usually one storey building.

Hello people, please I need your honest advice on how to remedy this sockaway project. The person is trying to build a precast sockaway because the soil is sandy. However, while trying to dig the ground so the precast sinks down, it cracked and why trying to figure that out, the side starts to compress.

I will be in the comment section to read your honest advice. Many thanks great minds.

Wahala wahala..

I was just wondering the engineers thought process? As it is now, how do they plan to proceed as their initial plan did not work out?

I am not an engineer myself but maybe that was a wrong approach to begin with?

Government is defending the currency and giving you the poor masses breathing space but out of sheer desires to see this country destroyed, the same poor people are fighting against the defense.

If government should borrow to save naira and make it easier for me to live, government should do it. When they looted and didn't invest in Nigeria, I wasn't a part of it. Nigeria will not be destroyed because I want Obi to win.

The reason I voted for Obi is for better life and if Tinubu is giving me that, I will support him and his policies

Defending the naira is good thing as it helps the economy.

My problem with their approach is, are they putting a band aid on an issue to give the economy a quick win while crippling the economy long term?

FG knows what to do , all they are doing is just going round the problem instead of taking it head on.

I am still yet to understand why "roundtripping" have not been abolished.

Why would someone that needs to pay their supplier in China, need to go to BDC to buy dollar to come and pay into the bank to effect the transfer. It's not like the bank will take the money in cash to China.. the transaction is done electronically.

Why can't banks just deduct the money from customers account at official rate so the customer could pay their kids school fees, medical bills, or their foreign supplier?

Also, I do hope that FG is true to their word on clamping down on businesses that charges in dollars while doing business in Nigeria.

Not to forget increasing local production.. what is the government doing about improving the power supply.. if the government can improve electricity that would greatly reduce the cost of doing business and encourage more entrepreneurs.

Sometimes I don't really blame Ten Hag on interviews because English is not his first language and sometimes, non traditional English speakers find it hard to convey exactly how they feel or what they were trying to say.

But yesterday from what I watched.. Ten Hag got his tactics wrong or the players failed to follow his instructions.

First, Bruno is a very good player but I don't like the role he plays in manutd squad, he is all over the pitch causing other players to loose position.. what DeBruyne in Man city, Messi in Barcelona that plays similar roles as Bruno.. you don't always see them all over the pitch like Bruno.. Bruno should channel his skills to specific part of the pitch.

Dalot, another good player but he needs to focus on his wing.. just like Antonio Valencia and co did before him.. run up and down the flank and cut in the middle when he needs to.. at some point in yesterday's game he was in a top 9 position?

Hojlund needs to decide if he wants to be a WWE wrestler or a top 9 striker for a big club. He displayed zero skills yesterday.

Ten Hag needs to use the flanks more , right back and right winger supposed to be in synch.

Left back and left winger supposed to be in synch.

Bruno needs to have a defined role, connecting midfield with the forwards and the strikers, he needs to be linking plays not being all over the pitch.

Casemiro is declining in talent, and should be playing less minutes.

Ten Hag did well by subbing Garnacho at half time, but he should have subbed Casemiro instead of Mainoo..
Also Rashford and Hojlund should have been subbed as well.
